Dr. Wong and his team made me feel at home and got some work done quick and easy! Would 100% recommend!

Waited 3 weeks to see dentist after my daughter chipped her front tooth. When we arrived, we were given consent forms for dental extractions and a CT scan. I said that I was not consenting to either since this was a consultation. Staff also said they never received our XRays sent from the pediatric dental office. I said, I have the email with your email address CC'd. Staff then said "Oh, that email is encrypted, we don't open those because we have had problems with them." Ok. I would assume all patient information would be sent securely...anyways...we waited for an hour. Several patients came after us and were seen. No one acknowledged the wait time. It's literally like we were not there. We ended up leaving without being seen. Very unprofessional with zero regard for my time or patient satisfaction. I cannot speak to the endodontist we were referred to see that came very highly recommended , Dr. Wong. What I do know is that I will not be returning because I work in healthcare and this was an unacceptable experience. read more

I was referred to Dr. Jonathan Wong in Schaumburg by my primary dentist due to a painful issue with one of my teeth. During my visit, Dr. Wong reviewed the tooth in question and, based on his X-rays, informed me that I had an infection. He told me that, because I am 52 years old, I would likely feel pain, and that "no patient likes to pay , feel pain or to loose a tooth" He said I needed to decide whether to extract the tooth or proceed with an **apicoectomy molar procedure**. He added that if I waited too long, he would not be available to help me, because he would be "somewhere on a beach." He explained that during an extraction, the tooth could break, and gave some outcomes of both options. He proceeded to **remove the tooth and then place it back in**, and provided prescriptions for pain and infection. He asked me to follow up in one month. This procedure occurred on **September 12, 2025**. I took the prescribed medications as directed. On **September 30 and October 1, 2025**, I began experiencing **intense pain** in the same area. On **October 1**, I called the office and was told they would notify Dr. Wong. I was also given the option to call him directly. I called him twice but received **no response**--neither from him nor from the office. On **October 2 at 4:30 PM**, I called again and let the office know I never received a call back. They told me they would contact me again and later scheduled an appointment for **Friday, October 3, 2025 at 8:45 AM**. When I arrived at the appointment, I was told it was actually scheduled for **10:45 AM**. I waited and was eventually taken in for new X-rays. When Dr. Wong approached me, I explained I was in severe pain. He reviewed the X-ray and said he didn't see anything "major" or a "fracture" -- but added that "there could be." I didn't understand what he meant by that. At that point, Dr. Wong became visibly **impatient, rude, and raised his voice**. He told me to open my mouth, then shouted at me to "open it more" -- with **no empathy or respect**. He proceeded to drill into the tooth **without addressing my pain level**, or showing any consideration for my discomfort. I began to cry from the pain. He asked me to bite down and whether I felt any difference. I told him I couldn't tell because the pain was too severe. He became **angry**, raised his voice again, and began **belittling me in front of his assistant**, making me feel like I was **dumb** and **wasting his time**. He continued drilling aggressively, then again asked me to tap and bite. I was still in severe pain. He showed **no empathy**, despite my obvious distress. I told him I wanted the issue resolved before traveling to Ecuador on **October 21, 2025**. In response, he sarcastically said, "If you don't want to feel pain, I can just take the tooth out and you won't feel pain anymore." He pressured me to make a decision immediately -- despite the fact that I trusted him with the **apicoectomy molar procedure** to save the tooth in the first place. I was shocked at his attitude. I expected him to offer a clear plan for next steps or treatment options. Instead, I told him that **he is the professional** and I was relying on his guidance. I said I trusted his expertise. He then left the room. I was in **tears**, deeply upset by his behavior. An assistant came in to offer me water and help calm me down. When Dr. Wong returned, he said he wanted to see me again a week before my trip. He asked why I was upset and **apologized**, saying he "didn't mean to be mean." I told him I was extremely hurt by the way he treated me -- that he was **not only mean**, but **unprofessional and aggressive**. I told him I hoped never to be treated by him again. He tried to give me a **fist bump**, which I refused -- I felt it was completely inappropriate after what had just happened. His assistant came back again to offer me water and help me leave the office calmly. I left feeling completely shocked, mistreated, and disrespected -- especially while enduring intense pain and trusting him for care. read more

I was very traumatized when I a young kid by our dentist, I'm in my 60's now. It's been about 10 years since a went to a dentist. A couple weeks ago I started with achiness with lower back jaw, Tylenol 650mg worked beautifully until it didn't. I was recommended to come here. I can't explain the intense pain I went thru. Dr. O'Hara put me at ease and did a root canal. OMG!!! If you need one go to him, I have no fear of root canals now. Not that want another one!!!! read more

I can't speak for the services provided by the doctor since the services of the office staff was very unprofessional. I did not get past the insurance verification phase of my experience. The office staff refused to take the information needed to verify my insurance and argued my coverage dates without confirming the information. I had to cancel my appointment and will need to look for services elsewhere even though I have PPO insurance. read more

After doing my due diligence and researching various Endodontist practices, I decided on Renovo Endodontic Studio in Schaumburg and Dr. Trinh. I couldn't be happier with my decision! This was my first experience having a root canal and I was pretty much dreading it. Dr Trinh and his amazing assistant Zoira, made me feel so comfortable. After a brief analogy using a Roto-Rooter (ha-ha), I was ready to open wide. Dr Trinh did two in one sitting and my pain has been non-existent. There are a lot of good dental professionals as well as a lot of bad. Dr. Trinh definitely falls on the good side...in fact, he falls on the excellent side. Although I cannot recommend any of the others in the practice, I would highly recommend Renovo Endodontic Studio in general, and Dr Tam Trinh in particular. read more

Thank you so much for responding to my last review. I wish, when I talked to your office manager while I was still in your office with my granddaughter, she would have been as communicative. There is no defense for the kind of treatment we received while we were there. We were in your office more than an hour and my granddaughter was still not being treated for her root canal. We were never approached regarding the delay. I went up to the desk twice and the most relevant information I received was the room was being cleaned and E. would be next. 20 minutes later she had still not been seen. We were in your office over an hour and the appointed procedure had not begun or been addressed. It's petty, but it speaks to your defensiveness regarding the truth. You said there was a 57% discount given for the work. Nothing could be further from the truth. When I mention no reading material was provided in the waiting room (it would have been nice given give such a long wait) you defended that by saying I asked for the TV to be turned off which was a bit of a non sequeter. In reality, I asked for the TV to be turned down. When you get a positive review you're gracious. When you get a negative one, you're defensive. Have seen Dr. Wong a couple times to initially discuss a root canal. My general dentist really pushed for root canal so he could replace a crown that literally kept breaking off that he had put in. Dr. Wong clearly explained why it had to be extracted and with new image technology it clearly showed he was correct. Did a great job on the extraction which was a difficult one. Side benefit is he is a really nice person!! Miranda at the front desk is just a delightful lady and so very helpful with insurance questions. We also exchanged some home remedies!! I had a root canal with Dr. Patrick O'Hara. I was so terrified - anything tooth related makes me super anxious. It turns out it did not hurt at all and was way, way easier than I was expecting! Additional issue- I received a text saying I had a follow-up appointment at a specific time and date with the office location included. I remembered talking about a follow-up appointment and thought we had indeed made one. I went to the appointment and was told that this was "a message sent by a third party to remind you to make an appointment." The text indicated a specific time and date and said nothing about being just a reminder to actually make the appointment. I expressed frustration (I was not disrespectful) and the receptionist was pretty rude and said that "the text reminder program was new " and "they would pass that feedback along to that third party." read more

Dr Trinh is the Best! My first visit with him was for an extraction, bongraft and guided tissue. My surgery was fast and smooth despite my anxiety. My experience with Dr. Wong was seamless. I needed extensive treatment done. It was not an emergency. I called the office, they said I could come in right away because they had room in the schedule. The front staff was very friendly. I got seen after 2 minutes waiting and saw Dr Jonathan Wong after maybe 7 minutes. Incredible. I got a treatment plan right then and there and I asked if they had time to do it and Dr. Wong agreed. 45 minutes later with the best technology and the best anesthetic(that's for sure), everything was done. He was so nice and making sure I was okay every 5 minutes and counseled me at the end very kindly. No one should be scared of root canals if they are seeing Dr. Wong. Let no one ever tell you that tooth replacement is a walk in the park; it is not, it ranks up there with root canals and tooth extraction but if you opt for tooth replacement and you want it done right. Dr. Wong and Renovo studio are very good at what they do. My only advice is they should inform the patient of the steps of the procedure and how long the entire process could take. Again, no fun folks, there was pressure but no pain, the most discomfort you will experience will be when the numbing wears off and a long healing process. If I had to do it again I'd go to Dr Wong. read more

So to start, I had a filling done on a cracked front tooth about 10.5 years ago. Miraculously it lasted that long, but in the middle of a Wednesday... part of it cracked off. Facility is clean and staff are good people but management is almost nowhere! I had an appointment 7am first patient. I arrive on time . Office is closed. Finally some one did show up 10 minutes after 7:00 and I had to wait in a dark waiting room until they could admit me in the room. My session started almost 45 minutes late! After x ray and dentist review I was told that printer is broken down and I will receive my treatment plan in email. They scheduled me for my first treatment session in two weeks from evaluation. I not only did not receive that treatment plan but my couple phone calls to follow up was routed to a machine and no one called me back. I cancelled my appointment because I believe a doctor's most important job is to be concerned about their patient and their pain. This is something that you will not find in this studio. While the specialists there are amazing at their work, one must be able to see the whole experience and ultimately rate Renovo through the whole thing. While making an appointment with more than enough time you would expect for there to be no complications regarding insurance, coverage, and copay. One of the receptionists stated that our insurance will determine out copay and that they would tell us how much we would pay. How could we know how much we would pay if the receptionists are not efficient in transferring information to each other to answer a simple question? When we've called multiple times to the Schaumburg location they would always ask us for which location is our appointment at when they should be able to clearly see it when we mention the name. Not only that but no one seems to be competent enough to answer our question and the calls always conclude with "we will give you a call back" when ultimately the person who calls us back in unaware of anything previously mentioned and also can't answer the questions. As I am writing this I am currently in a call dealing with this situation and after emailing my insurance and every step taken it seems they still have trouble doing a simple task. You would assume the best specialists around and company would also have a very professional team to answer questions while being efficient in the company. Due to this reason I believe a restructure of not only staff but also technology proficiency are needed so that any potential new patients/clients will have a better experience. read more

We made several calls to get pain medication refill order. No success at all. Every time we called we were told that someone will call back. A dentist like Dr. Wong can be great at what he does, but the horrible attitudes, lack of professionalism, and shameless behaviors from him and his employees, in and outside the office are hard to overlook when considering returning to Renovo for additional treatment. He was easy going and personable when I was an anxious patient in the chair for my first root canal (which was not as horrid as I imagined it would be, all thanks to Dr. Wong!). Called in to set up an appointment, specifically asked the person over the phone if extractions are done instead of root canal if I were to choose. Person said yes but an appointment needs to be made to first, I agreed. Came in today to find out they don't perform extractions at all. I'm not mad that the office doesn't perform them I'm mad because I was told something different over the phone. Wasted $41 to be told tooth extractions aren't performed when I was told otherwise. Management: Review the call (if possible) and you will understand what I stated above is factually correct. Why would I bother to waste my time or the doctors time if extractions aren't performed at the office? Doesn't make sense. read more
