a parking lot full of cars

One of the most busiest Indian grocery store in Edison . We like shopping here , but it's tough to get parking and also billing takes a long time . We like the products here and also the vegetables are fresh. Mostly we get all groceries and many varieties. Rice, idli rice, atta , pickles and you name it . They also sell lamps/diya during navrathri times and also sell various other things during festive season. Sweets, savories etc. customer service could be better . Overall we like this store ..

    Never seen this before!

I am not a regular at this location of Patel Brothers. Usually stop by if I am at the temple in the area. It is definitely a huge store with almost all of the products you would find in an Indian grocery store in India (Honestly)! Their product is always fresh and well stocked. I usually pick up vegetables, spices, and yogurt from this location. The prices are great compared to the other Indian grocery stores in the area or even Jersey City as a matter of fact. Customer service is terrible, I am not even going to try to sugar coat it. You might as well talk to the other customers to help you navigate around the store and get suggestions on the spices. Parking lot is big, but it is always a challenge to fins parking.

There is no doubt that there is a growing or grown Indian community in the Edison and Iselin., New Jersey area. The newly renovated Patel Brothers cash and carry grocery store is evidence of this. The new place is more interior space and a bigger parking lot which is a welcome to shoppers who used to park on side streets. This place has big variety of indian food produces as well as spices. This place can be very busy on the weekends, but the presentation of their produce is excellent. If you like to eat guava fruit, this place has had the best I've tried so far compared to other stores I've tried.

This is the perfect example of a consumer friendly small business. These guys are competing with some bigger super markets in the area but they definitely have a more genuine attitude towards their customers...trust me on that one. I can't say that I've had the same experience as Kathy--I'm white and I get treated the same as everyone else in the store...its true that sometimes you stick out like a sore thumb sometimes, but it's all in your head, I mean a large part of their consumer base IS Indian. Also, the store has been there much longer than 10 years as I am a native of this area and can vividly remember the emerging Indian market...and the Patel Brothers was there before 1999. If you ask them for something they do their best to accommodate your shopping list and that's all I can ask for (in addition to their fair prices). Try it out, its a twist on the good old American super-market with a niche in ethnic groceries and as far as I can tell they're damn good at what they do...

The pack of roti I bought yesterday is full of mold. Heres a picture. Do not buy groceries from this place!

The Iselin branch of Patel Bros has Hopeless cashiers! Rude and arrogant cashiers. The store needs to change cashiers.

** Great Selection and Fresh Produce!**…read more Lotte Market is one of the better Asian grocery stores around--definitely a go-to if you're looking for a wide variety of Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Southeast Asian ingredients under one roof. The store is clean, well-organized, and the produce section is surprisingly fresh with lots of options you don't usually find in regular supermarkets. The seafood section is a standout--plenty of fresh fish and shellfish, and they even clean or cut it for you on request. The meat section is also well-stocked with cuts popular in Asian cuisine. You'll find everything from marinated bulgogi to hotpot essentials. There's a great range of snacks, noodles, sauces, frozen dumplings, and ready-to-eat meals. The in-store bakery and food court are added bonuses--try the Korean fried chicken or fresh buns! Parking is usually decent, but weekends can get crowded. Prices are a little on the higher side compared to smaller ethnic stores, but the convenience and variety make up for it. Service and billing slower at times Still, highly recommended for any Asian grocery shopping needs!

The least crowded of the newer Asian markets…read more They're a little more out of the way and not as trendy and fun to shop in as H Mart but there isn't the same congestion and chaos here. Sometimes H Mart feels like it was purposefully designed to have that chaos in mind, like you're meant to get overwhelmed by the sheer amount and variety of goods they offer, to meander through their tighter layout to discover something. Adds to the bustling atmosphere. Kind of like Costco and Trader Joe's. You're always going to leave buying something you never intended to. H Mart tends to cost more than the other Asian markets and caters more towards the youth. Lotte has the cleanliness of H Mart with nearly as much ethnic goods as them, if not more in the South and Southeast Asian department. Their overall design and layout is simpler so it's easier and faster to find what you need. They have pretty consistent sales to boot. Peace and quiet, great for elders and families. Lotte remains to be the most balanced and the IDEAL in terms of shopping experience, variety, quality, and value of all of the Asian markets. Go to the back past 6pm for 30-50% off discounted prepared food. I personally find some of their items, like kimbap, to be better than H Mart's. Food court is also significantly less busy than H Mart's.

Specifically people not stopping at stop signs or driving in the middle of the lane. There fuel efficient parking. However, it's not enforced seeing gas guzzlers in there. Leaving to the store. It's pretty good. There is a cheese monger there who I think's name is Mike who is awesome. He has been really helpful and when I've had cheese questions or gone there he is always very friendly, knowledgeable, and just a pleasure to talk to. Unlike any other cheese section at whole foods I've been to because of him. Their hot bar is like pretty standard hot bar. Nothing to write home about but nothing that's bad. The pizzas are pretty good, although a large pizza is I would consider a medium. They're fish. Selection is waxed and waned. The last couple times I've gone there has been multiple types of salmon. And the past they've had more varieties of fish. Although they're shellfish selection is pretty good. The last time we were there we ordered a few dozen oysters and they were very good and they gave us size to take them home and which is a plus. Not a bad local whole foods, Worth stopping in if you're local or within a 15-minute drive.

Any Whole Foods Market is a wholesome grocery place where you get anything that's edible from A-Z…read moreand this place falls on the same line as its peers. Parking is a breeze unless you are here on a weekend which might make it tight but you will still find your spot. They offer anything under the umbrella - floral, produce, water refill, meat, bakery, freshly prepared food and even an Amazon Return counter which makes it very convenient for return drop offs. The place is ambient, produce is fresh at all times, checkout including self checkout are smooth and the customer service is impeccable. Amazon Prime members get discounted price with a QR code from the app. Now coming to why I would rate this place a star less- I mostly frequent this place for the water refills and there have been instances when the lines are long due to a spout issue where the water would stream thin or the water service being totally unavailable due to mechanical issues with the system. This is a common problem with the Bridgewater location too and I hope Whole Foods brings about a change to either make it available at all times or bring in some form of notification system for signed up customers.
