Wegmans is the kind of grocery store I truly look forward to visiting. What I love about Wegmans is that they have some unique and delicious offerings, specifically within their bakery. The cheese bread is so soft and yummy. I also love their mousse cake, eclairs, and chocolate teacups. Most grocery stores don't have a bakery with high quality desserts like these. In the frozen section, they also carry my favorite ice cream, which no other retailer carries at the moment. I will say, some of the ready-to-eat options are not the best. The sushi is still grocery store sushi and by no means exceeds expectations. I often pick up a hot sub, which also isn't the best I've had, but it does the trick. When I do need to order things at one of these stations, the service here is really nice. Wegmans also has a pretty nice seating area if you're stopping in for a meal. This is my first time at this location. I usually go to the one in Princeton, NJ (my favorite), but this was more convenient today. This location is clean and organized. The cashier that took care of me was extremely nice, and made sure she cleaned the checkout conveyor belt because there was some residue. Her manager came by telling her that she could go to lunch, but I felt in no way rushed - she took her time to make sure we were all set and packed to go. Much, much appreciated! While this location is very convenient (you just go up Route 1 North), getting to the turnpike to go home was a bit tricky (it felt like we had to go through 1 or 2 circles - I honestly don't know how we got to the turnpike). If you're comfortable driving and know the area - great! But it you don't, just a heads up. Wegman's is a high priced supermarket. The fruits look tempting. The plums and peaches are big and gorgeous looking. The prices are high for fruits that are not even organic. So if you want a gorgeous looking plum, you can get it here but that doesn't mean on the inside it will be sweet, as mine weren't. Even a beautiful outside does not equate to a sweet inside. prepared goods section is extremely pricey and I find higher than Whole Foods. There are some good things too. The cut flowers look lovely. The displays are well designed. They sell twelve cans of Poppi soda in a package and you can buy just the flavor you like. Meat and produce look fresh and there are some samples plus the market is big and spacious. Some sections look like a no frills warehouse but other sections like the produce and prepared foods has ambiance. The place is clean and it looks like where the money folks shop! read more

Wegmans for the win! Want food ready to eat? There's a huge section in this supermarket for delicious and relatively fresh ready-to-go meals from sushi to sandwiches to hot plates. Though Wegmans is pretty pricey as compared to Shop Rite, Stop & Shop, etc., it has a lot of health foods that you can't find in traditional grocery stores. Plus, its clean, organized and there are associates everywhere to help find what you need. The staff are pleasant, the bakery, fresh fruits, cheese sections are all wonderful. This is a great grocery store. No matter what you're looking for they probably have it. Not only have it but it's freshly prepared. They're fully staffed. The inventory is large and they save waste and money on bagging because you bring your own shopping bags. There are a lot of options for those that like to cook themselves and there are just as many options available for those that want already prepared meals. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Plenty of pescatarian options available and paleo and gluten free options available too. Seafood lovers will have a party. Whatever your preference, there's an option for you! read more

She always accompanies the rep that is bringing my order out and does this to me but doesnt do that to anyone else picking as I watch all of the orders come out. I'm familiar with Wegmans from their Brooklyn location. I really like this one, it's very clean, well stocked and they have wonderful selection of fresh produce, meat, cheese, and baked goods. Oh the baked goods! Seriously the chocolate chip cookies and carrot cake are . I like to get my meat here, I find the quality very good and the prices fair compared to other places. I find I can get most name brands that I use here and the prices are on par. Somehow I spend less money here than other stores, today I got a bunch of meat, fruit, and some extras including a few bakery items and paper towels and I spent about $160. Stay away from Wegman's bakery. I bought my favorite donuts at Wegman's bakery recently and found a drop of raspberry jam in their jelly donuts and a drop of cream in their Boston Crème's! After I talked to the personal behind the donut racks during a next visit, they informed me that their donuts are not made on premises and are shipped in from outside bakery! I couldn't believe my ears! This makes me wonder how many other Wegman's products are shipped in from outside distributors and sold under a Wegman's label. I know Livoti's of Freehold does this same practice with all their prepared foods and I do not patronize that family business anymore. I am know adding Wegman's to my list of banned local businesses. I walked by the produce section which again is huge and everything was fresh. The bakery has a big variety of desserts that all looked delicious. They don't have a lot of variety in terms of unusual items, which I expect at higher priced grocers. However, cooked food is good, albeit pricey. Parking lot is mobbed but expected. If you've followed me for awhile you probably know this is my favorite grocery store. I am really freaked out by the COVID-19 pandemic, I avoid going out wherever I can and even the once pleasant stroll through my favorite grocery store has become a thing of the past. That is a hard pill to swallow sometimes. That being said, I couldn't be happier that Wegmans has been making every effort to keep their employees and shoppers safe. They only let a certain amount of people in at a time and the people waiting outside have been adhering to social distancing guidelines. Because of the wait to get in, it isn't so bad once you're inside, sometimes aisles still get crowded but it's easy to find a spot with limited or no people. I only wish they would have directions so that you have less contact with people passing through aisles, a one way in one way out sort of thing. The store is very clean and I constantly see an associate cleaning. As soon as you walk in (there is temporarily only one entrance so that they can limit traffic into the store) there is hand sanitizer which they encourage every shopper to use. The biggest stride in my opinion is the addition of the "scan and go" app. I love this because it gets me out of the store and on my way faster. I'm also able to sanitize each product that goes into my bags without worrying about someone else touching it who may have the virus, this also helps with putting the groceries away once I get home. I know I sound crazy, but I'd rather be overly cautious than not enough. I do really like and appreciate the scan and go app, the one complaint I have is that you have to pay at a pay station in self checkout. Not a huge deal, and I'm sure this is to monitor inventory control a little closer so I get it, but the less things I have to touch the better! They have also installed plexiglass in front of each pay station including the pharmacy which I think is great. I feel deep gratitude toward the essential employees in our communities and I think every stride to keep them safe should be done. 5/5 read more

Covid Shutdown Update: Wegmans is open for business and practicing some very good strategies for making sure shoppers are safe. The first hour they are open is dedicated to senior citizen shopping time, which I think is a fantastic idea. They are also controlling how many people are in the store at once so you may have to wait on a line outside, but honestly I have yet to wait more than 10 minutes on the line. By the time you play that game on your phone or check your Facebook status you should be moving inside. Inside the store, there are now hand sanitizer stations at most major entrances and wipes when you get in. At the cashier lines not only do they have stickers on the floor spaced about 6 feet apart but the cashiers themselves will ask you if you want to bag your own stuff or have them do it. Depending on the answer you can either proceed forward or you are kept at a distance until it is time to pay. It takes getting used to but I did not find it particularly obtrusive at all. In terms of selection, the first few weeks of the shutdown looked like something out of an apocalyptic movie from the 90's. Empty shelves, crowds of people around certain aisles presumably looking for the same item (ex: spaghetti sauce). However in recent weeks it has calmed down quite a bit, with shoppers generally trying to keep their distance from one another and stock returning to normal levels. There are still some hard-to-find items of course (Egg Beaters and Anti-Bacterial wipes for instance) but for the most part you should be able to find everything you need. They have even pre-packaged a lot of their steam table foods so you can make it at home! read more

Wegman's has evolved due to the pandemic and the shopping preferences of their customers. Unfortunately, the prepared foods counter remains closed. The butcher counter has been reduced to almost nothing, except for a few specialty items, like dry-aged prime ribeye steaks for $65/lb. Prices on meat have risen everywhere, but that's nuts. I still come here for their cryo-packed marinated chicken breasts and thighs, but that's about it. I buy nearly all of my other meats at local butcher shops--Barth's in New Providence, Pat's in Scotch Plains, and the Pork Store in Union. The fresh fish counter remains open, with a good selection, as well as the deli meats counter. The salad and hot food bars have been removed. Wegman's has also vastly expanded their health food, vegetarian, gluten-free, keto, and specialty diet offerings. I'm glad I don't have to eat that stuff. Wegman's has the biggest selection of potato and tortilla chips and snacks that I've seen, several isles worth. It's astonishing how much of that Americans buy. So much fat and salt. That stuff will kill you. They do have some bulk items that are worth the trip, like $5/case of 12 liters of Vintage seltzer water, $12/case for imported Pellegrino from Italy. Their house-brand paper goods are also high quality. My wife goes through a lot of bathroom tissue, so their 30 rolls mega packs are convenient, along with the 10-box packs of facial tissues. read more

What is Wegmans? Some say it's a supermarket but its actually more of an experience. I've been here several times before; but not often since it's really not close to where I live. When I come here, it's mostly to purchase their seeded watermelon which is darn near impossible to find in any produce market or store. Their produce section is massive; overstocked with all kinds of fresh fruits and veggies. Two Thumbs up as I was actually able to pick up some bok choy here at the request of my son allowing me to skip a special trip to the Asian market. Thumbs down for no key limes. Also I saw corn on the cob and had to get some. Unfortunately, Wegmans didn't offer the convenience of a nearby garbage to throw the husks in after peeling off the corn. I guess that means you can't peel the husks off the corn in the store... that's what the sign said. This means you'll have to take the corn home and peel off the husks leaving a mess inside your home. Kinda surprised with all the amenities and wonderful extras they provide for their customers that they couldn't supply a measly garbage bin for the customers to peel off the husks and dispose of them. Aside from that, I don't have too many other complaints. Walking into the prepared food section was also pretty nice. I enjoyed the music and there were so many freshly prepared breads, soups, sushi, seafood and a wide array of other foods. I bought sushi and a large pan of already prepared veggie Lo mein and General Tso's chicken for Sunday's dinner cause Momma needs a break. I paid $38 and it looks like the pan will feed about 3 people each at the very least. Btw, the sushi was really good. I used the restroom while I was there. It's a modernized bathroom that I can appreciate but wish they would hire a cleaning person to maintain it throughout the day between patrons. I especially liked that they had a cleaning spray located inside each individual stall - definitely a nice touch. Bottom line, I really like Wegmans. Wegman's has been a life saver - almost literally! I have never shopped here prior to the pandemic but when the pandemic first started, it was difficult having to "fight" for delivery slots from my nearby Shoprite and/or Whole Foods Market. Although Wegman's is a slight drive for us from Jersey City, they offer curbside pickup and typically have a lot of time slots available. We have now been making our orders through the Wegman's app and through Instacart for months. While our grocery orders are being gathered in store, we are texted with possible substitutions (you can select the option on the app to either allow possible substitutions or deny the option for the worker to provide substitutions) that we can approve or deny through text. Then we are notified once our orders are ready. At the store, there is a Curbside Pickup area that we drive up to and then we notify the store when we have arrived via the app, while staying in the comfort of our car. Then we typically wait on average 5-10 minutes for a worker to grab our groceries and bring to our car and then they load our groceries into our car for us. This option of having Curbside Pickup has been super convenience and safe, as the workers are always wearing masks. Wegman's has a great variety of groceries and at reasonable prices. It's been great! We've now been coming to Wegman's for our groceries since April, and will continue to do it! read more

I am an avid Wegman's shopper. One of the items I loved and bought often were the oven roasted brussel sprouts. I would put them in a pan with olive oil and heat them up and they were delicious. Then something changed. The brussel sprouts are now harder and have a different shape to them. The used to be round and the bottom was cut off and now the whole brussel sprout is there and it's awful. Even when I try to soften them in the microwave and the stove top it is too hard. I have finally decided to stop buying them which is a shame because they were so good! Why do they have to "fix" something that was not broken but now is? The level of which Customer Service is lacking in some of the sections is atrocious. Firstly, I'm a big Wegmans fan, I love Wegmans fresh produce. I like that they source some local ingredients and pre-Covid I was an avid goer of both the hot and cold bar. Can't beat it. They're diverse, fresh, and tasty premade food is great quality reasonably priced as well as many other store brand products I still buy today like their butter and almond milk, yogurt, etc. however usually I get my groceries delivered in Covid. I was in the area with my partner and we decided to grab groceries and pick up a couple of cold drinks more specifically cold coffee & milkshakes. When I went to the stand that serves cold coffee, frappe's etc. there was nobody there in fact there was already a line of two people one was a staff member waiting to get a beverage we all waited for well over 10 minutes 15 minutes with no customer service whatsoever. By the time somebody came I was told that they could not do iced milkshake drinks but that they could probably do some thing like a frappe with ice and cream and coffee. To which the person and Customer Service said to me "I mean it's good you don't have to have a milkshake you can get something healthier right like a juice." Person /Ma'am, after waiting for almost 20 minutes for these beverages I was pretty dedicated to my mission. Still by no means is it professional thoughtful or OK to tell a stranger or even your friends to eat something healthier. That is not your job you aren't a qualified doctor or nutritionist and even in that case usually those sentiments are more harmful than good. It was one thing to wait over 15 to 20 minutes to even get my order, then wait longer, to be shamed for ordering what I want and being asked are you sure? At which point I wanted to leave, but here we were dedicated to the mission. Once received, frappe was immediately over iced and separated, the cold coffee even with milk was gross and bitter. We couldn't finish and threw out both drinks once we seated in the car... after all that foolery. Wegmans, Please train your staff to have basic patience and manners especially in a Covid atmosphere. I'm more than fine (even as a Disabled cane user) to wait longer for service especially in a pandemic, people aren't really using PPE, employment shortages, people getting sicker with Covid. However, I will not stand in line for that length of time only to be insulted when I'm trying to give somebody some money for a lovely pleasant summer treat. Sidenote: any pre-bagged product like salad can be expected to brown and wither within 2 days use. That's not the case at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, so that improvement would be great! read more

This Wegmans is huge with a pharmacy, cafe, bakery, Wegmans liquor and beer and, of course, the grocery section which dominates this store. The parking lot is huge so you'd never not find a space. This store has everything that you'd need from a grocery store. Fresh produce, meat, dairy, snacks you name it. They have a good selection of organic products as well for all folks going organic. Store is very well laid out with fresh produce section right at the front as you enter, with dairy towards the far left and meat and bakery towards the right of the store. The pharmacy and cafe are neatly located and visible as soon as you enter. The prices are comparable to other big grocery chains. They also have a liquor section at the far left towards the end of the store, which is a separate store in itself, and has a huge selection of beer and alcohol with some of the best prices. If you're thinking of making Wegmans your only grocery store, you won't be disappointed as they have all the boxes checked in their favor. read more

I have not grocery shopped at this Wegman's location, this review is for their catering and bakery department. I was very impressed with the catering. I placed my order online, I had a few questions and they got back to me right away via phone. I recommend their catering services for any party or big event. The presentation will wow all of your friends and family. They even provide you with a serving tray and serving utensils. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of delicious, and fresh food. You would spend more if you made it yourself. The employees at this location are helpful and friendly. I also custom ordered a cake online, it was delicious and looked beautiful. I think it must be about 5 yrs that I've shopped at Wegmans in Woodbridge NJ. I don't shop here each week, but it's often enough that I determined getting a Shoppers Club card was worth doing. First of all, parking is PLENTIFUL! Just be mindful of WHERE you park your vehicle as it relates to proximity of the cart pens. On 2 separate occasions I managed to catch runaway carts before they crashed into parked cars. They escaped the pen and were rolling downhill towards the access road bordering the strip mall across the way. I contacted Customer Svc and alerted them, so hopefully they'll get a handle on that situation. Second, this place is well stocked! And if there's something you can't find, their associates really try to help and will go into the back to see if they can find what you're looking for. Their fresh produce is well cared for and puts my local Whole Foods to shame. I really like printing out the labels for my produce to speed check out. They have an impressive array of take out food and a really nice dining area if you want to grab a snack before shopping. I really miss doing the self scan for everything and then doing self checkout. I know the reason it was discontinued was because of unscrupulous customers walking out without paying, but that would have been solved by having Costco style receipt verification at the door. It would have only required a change in traffic pattern for exiting the store. Finally, the store is very clean, prices are competitive with other supermarkets (and in some cases they are better) and I think if you can't find what you want here, it doesn't exist. I would like personalized coupons for the items I purchase often. In their digital coupons list in the Wegmans app, there is rarely if anything that I buy. read more

COVID-19 REVIEW, meaning evaluated through my stay-at-home experience, ordering groceries online. I always though Wegman's was great, but the stay-at-home situation (due to my age and health) has reinforced that opinion. Wegman's is just as good, in terms of selection and quality, to do business with online as they are in person. They have a wider selection of everything than any of the other supermarkets, and their own Wegmans brand is far superior to the store brands elsewhere. And one of the things I learned is that if I order directly with them online (rather than through a delivery service) I can then book a pickup time for my order, pull up in front of the store, and a Wegman's employee will load my entire order right into my truck. Fast, efficient, polite, and contact free. (And I avoid a delivery charge, though I always do tip the employee who loads the order into the car.) The only thing I miss is standing in person in the frozen desserts aisle and trying to select from the endless flavors of Wegman's own brand of ice cream, which BTW, sells for about half what the ice cream does in other supermarkets. As I said, I always thought Wegman's was great, and they have continued to exceed my expectation through this pandemic! read more
