Poppy at Patchen!

Great owners! Wonderful property! Our bird has a blast! Fun getaway! Sweet spot in the trees. Beautiful pumpkins. Local history kept alive.

Pretty pumpkins, walking trails, and photo ops!

Easy parking, nice not too crowded walking trails, and good value since u get pumpkins!

Such a lovely pumpkin patch with a nice selection of pumpkins and drinks. The owner was very kind and friendly. The pumpkins were well priced and I really liked how long the stems were for the mini pumpkins. Great spot to bring the pups and take photos. I'd recommend coming a bit earlier in the day!

Love this place and it's dog friendly! Staff are warm and friendly. Get pumpkins and other goodies and just have a blast on your visit here!

Loved this shot of the back of the shed...where we checked out the Christmas tree sapling nursery...

Adorable little patch up on the mountain. Gravel parking and grassy patch area were surprisingly doable for our son's wheelchair. The place is set up for photo ops, family fun and easy choosing of high quality pumpkins. Dog and kid friendly. We played cornhole, Jenga and snacked on popcorn and lemonade while we picked out pumpkins. Took great family photos. So compact, yet so much to see. The owners have obviously taken loving care to create a special place...we so appreciate their hard work. Yes, you will need to navigate a section of narrow, twisty road, but that made it even more fun. We know where we are going in December for a fresh cut tree...

We lined up at our 730pm check-in time and waited 35 minutes in the cold and were only halfway through the line. We left because it would have been another 25-35 more minutes to get through the line. However, the staff was great and the carnival games were fun. Nice to have all of the thoughtful decorations as well, our child loved playing with all of the pumpkins.

We did not enter the trail until 720pm, and that is after getting in line at 640pm. Just be aware. Which is fine, my family had fun and the actors inside are funny and well rehearsed. However, since we waited so long, we got out of the trail around 750pm. My kid wanted to play the carnival games, which close at 8pm, so we bought some tickets to play, and were out to the carnival by 752pm, they had already taken everything down and had only a few simple games still up. My kid was bummed, but I figured since there were no refunds, I could go back and get a snack instead with my tickets. I was denied and told to come back next week to redeem the tickets. I know this is all for a good cause and it really isn't too big of a deal, but it is silly that I literally bought the tickets within a minute and then walked back after the carnival being closed and then denied to even use the tickets on anything else and then told to come back next week. They were told not to sell any tickets since they were closing up the carnival early, but I guess it wasn't communicated well. I guess we will be back to use up the tickets next weekend...?

There are lots of food trucks and venders if you get hungry or just need some fruit or a funnle cake treat for your sweet tooth. they have a petting zoo, a train ride through a fiels of marigolds and dinosaurs hidden within wich you can see on a train ride. They offer two trains a small cow train or a full size seating train. You can also try your hand at the pumpkin blasters wich is always fun. What I look forward to every year is thier corn maze that is differnt every year. Its fun to see how long it takes you to get through it. This year we had oun little brave witch to guide us through the dark maze. The key is having a good sence of direction and listening to your surroundings. I already look forward to coming next year. Private party tents ar also available for those special events.

The map is easy to follow and if you get stuck there's a number you can call to get help so that's pretty cool. We waited about 45 mins for the train ride we didn't even get to do the cow train because that line was so long. We arrived at 2 pm and after doing the hay ride Dino walk corn maze and train ride it was already 6 pm... the price for a can of soda was $4 the food prices were outrageous!! They also have so many great spots to take photos with your family (or boo lol) near the pumpkins with fun cartoon characters and decorations everywhere! When I went on a Sunday this place was CRAZY BUSY, it was soo busy people were parking across the street. Although it looks scary (as in hundreds of people everywhere lol) the lines went by super fast. The staff that I met in the front was very nice. :) I will say this place is getting a bit PRICEY, the prices seem to go up every year but the activities are relatively the same. I think a date for two with some activities easily hits past $80-$100. I can't even imagine what big families have to pay. *GASP* lol. It would be nice if they offered discounts for return visits, loyalty customers, or family packs tbh. These prices in this economy?! lol Just joking. (But definitely something to think about.) ...Sadly I think this place isn't affordable for most people especially if you have a big family it's $8 per person just to get in. *Eek* an entrance fee for a family of 5 would be $40 WITHOUT activities... definitely not economical but... If you have the money to spend definitely check it out! The Halloween games and activities are awesome + super fun. I will say we made the mistake of buying food here (yikes on bikes!) the food is honestly terrible lol. I went on a cold evening and was super excited to get hot chocolate to stay warm but ended up with KINDA WARM watery chocolate. *bleh* Broke my heart honestly. lol. The churro was okay though and the pretzel was.. moderately acceptable. :) Sooo overall I would say Activities: 5/5 ~definitely super fun! Value: 4/5 ~bring that wallet baby Food: 0/5 ~I would never eat this again even if they paid me lol. I still love this place but I definitely will eat before I visit next time! lol. :) PRO TIP: Bring a jacket if you plan to go in the evening, and don't wear expensive shoes because they will get veryyyy dusty + if you plan to do the Corn Maze it can possibly get muddy.

Parking is also charged ($2/car, but it feels like you're being nickled and dimed). Yes it's only $2, but after charging for entry it feels unnecessary. There are lots of photo opps here, and my kids had a blast. The petting zoo was probably their favorite activity. Staff ranges from very friendly to very mediocre. I would like to note that while the "bouncing pillow" allowed adults to participate, the staff member supervising this activity was too curt to the woman in line behind me. He straight up told her the weight limit and asked if she was there. I understand a bouncing activity is not immune from the laws of physics, but the staff member put no thought into how he came across it seemed. I felt so taken back that a man felt okay embarrassing a woman about her weight (and she wasn't obese). The staff member could have at least asked if the woman wanted to participate with her kid. Yes there was a sign with a weight limit, but maybe the sign could be more clear and certainly a little kinder to avoid embarrassing women.

The displays are creative, immersive, and perfectly balanced: spooky enough to thrill the older kids, but never too scary for the little ones. From fog-drenched graveyards to glowing jack-o'-lantern paths and clever animatronics, it feels like stepping into a storybook haunted harvest. The Great Pumpkin Patch is a cute local patch in Soquel with lots of activities. It looks like it…read morehas more things for little kids, like preschooler age (ie, cow train), but then there are activities like the pumpkin slingshot and some BB gun thing! The only downside, and I think it's a big one, is the cost. Right when you walk in, they hand you a waiver form to sign, then it's a $4 entrance fee. THEN it costs money for any of the activities! If you are bringing your kids, you'd want to probably do a couple activities and buy a couple pumpkins. You can easily spend $100 here. That seems ridiculous to me, especially when there are so many other patches here and many don't ask for that much money. I'm all for small businesses making a profit, but it has to make sense because we are families trying to make a living too. The petting zoo was what my child and I were there for, and I felt that was poorly managed unfortunately. There were wonderful animals in there (little bunnies, little pigs, ducks, goats), but there was no time limit and the staffer didn't watch the people when they were with the animals. The 2 families who went before us were in the petting zoo for extended amounts of time (one was inside for 30 MINUTES!) and the youngest child was very rough with the small animals as well as chasing them. They refused to leave, even though they saw we had been waiting for so long and the staffer said nothing. The family left only when the small animals hid from them (ie, went inside the little house, hid under the table, hid behind the staffer). By the time we went in the petting zoo, the animals were "done". They had just been roughly handled and chased, so now they were hiding. We just paid $12 to pet goats and sheep. I would like to see The Great Pumpkin Patch succeed. I hope they'll be around for a long time. I just think the business model needs to be fine tuned a little, and the staff needs to be trained a little (like teach the ones who work the petting zoo to tell people to be gentle with the animals, or to have a 15 min time limit when there are others waiting).

It was a very happy place for me to take two boys that were full of energy and we're not lost for anything to do for at least an hour and a half. We even stayed and had a picnic lunch. As we were leaving, Eringave us some soft pumpkins so that we could open them up and look at the seeds inside, we also got some corn to take back home and use for a discovery table .. I was a especially happy to learn a new word for the stem of the pumpkin. You'll have to go there to find out what that special word is.
