However, sadly this is not the answer I was looking for. The old lady serving me was very friendly and polite. I asked for the pastrami sandwich and a matzo ball soup. Unfortunately, the meat was thinly sliced and quite dry, nothing like I expected after reading many of the reviews on Yelp. It wasn't bad, just not as outstanding as I was hoping. The matzo ball soup is sadly nothing special either. This time, I drove a little out of my way to try this restaurant. Although PE has a small footprint, the flavors of their Pastrami and Corned Beef stand out large and delish. Stopped in for takeout and ordered one each Pastrami and Corned Beef prepared "Juicy" and that's how we got them! Also got ff potatoes,Cole slaw and pickles to enjoy with the sandwiches . Their service is beyond compare. Unfortunately I can't go to this Deli on my own. My wife usually picks up our meals. Everything is delicious. I think the owner once had an association with Ben's Best in Rego Park Queens NY. I use to go there all the time their food was delicious. The tradition continues at Pastrami Express. Everything I have gotten has been delicious. I can't say it enough. They bring back the great tradition of the neighborhood Jewish deli. I don't know if they cure their own meats. Pleasantly surprised with how nice of a visit I had on Sunday 1-6-24. It was my first time here and we tried a few things on the menu. Hot pastrami reuben and corned beef reuben were both fantastic sandwiches. I think I prefer the pastrami a little more due to the added spices the bark provides. Sandwiches were not overly stuffed like some other places but it had the perfect amount of meat to cheese to Russian dressing. I even added some kosher mustard for a little extra zing. Also ordered a round knish and matzo ball soup. The knish was basic, but good and the soup was fantastic. I could've drank a gallon of the broth it was so good. They put some Cole slaw and pickles out on the table as well. Both were delicious. It's a Mom and Pop operation and there are probably about 6 tables or so inside and it has a quaint diner feel to it. The service was fantastic and the small staff on hand work hard. The woman who waited on us was pleasant, patient and offered up some menu suggestions. Places like this have become more and more rare over the years. Prices were more than fair for the quality and quantity of food. I'll definitely be coming back to try the pastrami dumplings with sauteed onions. read more

If you're on Long Island, look no further. Pastrami Express is simply the best of this genre you'll find without having to go over a bridge. It's a tiny spot on Merrick Road in Seaford - if you weren't looking for it you'd likely not even see it - but the product is on point. This is old school kosher style delicatessen at its finest. Everything I've tried is good, but for me it's their namesake that is just iresistable. The hot pastrami is truly a thing of beauty here, I like mine "juicy" as they call it (aka the point or fatty part of the brisket) and ask them to slice it thick but they'll make it any way you want including lean & extra lean if that's your preference. Delicious rye bread and spot on deli mustard that compliments the salty goodness of the meat oh so well. If you're truly hungry bump up to the Abe's special and get 3/4 of a pound on your sammy. Either way, pair it up with some of their stellar french fries - I ask for well done and they're always perfectly crisp. Plus they charge about $7 less than they do in the Kosher deli close to my house. It's a small place with really lovely employees. Wish I could give half stars because I think it's more of a 4.5. Small traditional Jewish style deli that is very easy to miss if you're not looking carefully for it. Came here for lunch during the week and went with their junior sandwich lunch special, 5oz of meat of your choice (I went with brisket, which comes warm and with a side of gravy if you choose) and a side of Nathan's style crispy fries and a drink for a decent price. I think this turns out to be a perfect portion for any meal, but Jewish delis do love to make their giant sandwiches too. Brisket is sliced thin and put on soft rye, very tasty. Sandwiches also get served with a small plate of coleslaw and a few pickles. Despite the small size, the place feels very comfortable, almost like having a meal at home. I wish I had got our waitress's name, she was the sweetest woman and made sure we were taken care of. Prices can seem just a touch expensive, but you get good quality and a healthy portion for your money. You can park on the street right in front, but I'd recommend the larger lot behind the building for convenience, there are entrances on both sides. So this is where I admit my boyfriend was right and I've been missing out my whole life (no one tell him I admitted that). I have nothing to compare this to but I am in love. The bread was so fresh and the meat had so much flavor! The brisket sandwich came with a gravy that had a strong tomato taste so it tasted more like a sauce to me. Since I usually order meat rare or medium rare it was a little well done for my taste but it was ok. We ordered in tonight for our first time delivery. Everything was perfect. The burger was cooked medium well as requested, the corned beef was extra lean as requested and the potato latke is so crisp and delicious! Amazingly their latkes are not greasy, they are just crispy deliciousness. We're so full we didn't even get to the stuffed cabbage, but looking forward to it. We picked up Turkey sandwiches to go last time, and they were so good. Honestly, if turkey day wasn't so close we would've never switched it up. My only complaint is that the pastrami sandwich is a little skimpy (It doesn't look like the picture. As is often the case of course. Though my experience does not agree with everyone else's, I see.
