French Macarons
Jordan A.

Last weekend, I was visited family in the area and stepped out to grab lunch and some sweet treats. I got a hero and macarons and a brownie pop. The volcano sandwich was insanely good and my cousin seemed to like the brownie pop. I tried the French macarons and they were genuinely the worst ones I've ever had. I didn't even get through one. It's was stale and sour. Frustrated because they were so expensive, I called the next day asking if anything could be done. Long story short, the employees remedied the situation without any problems. I was so thankful!! I ended up getting another sandwich which was also fantastic. Long story short, I very impressed with the customer service and fresh foods. The sandwiches are to die for. I'm probably going to steer clear of the bakery counter though lol.

Wow. Wow. And Wow. This place is a visual feast for the eyes... okay, and the palate too (of course). Even if you're a confirmed hater of Italian food (but who would be), you'd come out of here completely reformed and changed. They have a prepared foods section that is unbelievable. Their pasta is made fresh, same with sauces, and varieties of each that you wouldn't believe. Frankly, I think a place like Eataly stole from Uncle Giuseppe's, and I also think that Uncle Giuseppe's has MORE to offer than even Eataly !! All I know is that I'm super impressed. I've had their manicotti, and OMG, the pasta was so soft and fresh. Sauce and cheese sublime. I've also tried another pasta, forget which one, but it was along the lines of fettuccine, and we also tried one of their prepared salads. It had spinach, cooked butternut squash and some kind of cheese in a light dressing... very good. I wish I could say I've had more. Truth be told, I'm not in NY too often, so I'm very sad that my visits to this store will be limited to my visits to NY, boo-hoo, but my daughter and son-in-law love this place, so I'm sure we'll go again when I'm in town. I love this place, and I have the photos to keep reminding me. Next time, I want to try their bakery items and more of their prepared dishes !!

At Uncle Gs in Massapequa NY. Chocolate covered individual candies mediocre on freshness. BBQ chicken wings on hot tray dry and hard, sliced cantaloupe/honeydew not especially sweet. Variety of precook and heat foods available as are grab and go deli meats. Staff and cashiers friendly . Cute Giuseppes Jeeps- ( see pix) UFCW union run. Help wanted.

From the moment I was greeted by Aimida Flores in the catering department to the delivery of the food for my mother's 91st birthday party, my experience with Uncle Giuseppe's was excellent. I really appreciated Aimida answering all my questions and taking her time with me while I placed my order. The two delivery people, Sofia and Dan, were friendly and thorough. I ordered the premium buffet for 70 guests plus a few extra trays of food. I also ordered a full sheet cake which was as beautiful as it was delicious. Aimida called me the morning of the party to ask if I wanted to have the coffee delivered later than the food in a separate trip so it would still be hot when served. We only ended up with 60 people, so our guests were happy to take home leftovers in containers we brought for that purpose. I highly recommend Uncle Giuseppe's catering for the delicious food and impeccable service.

While I applaud reducing plastic waste, it as gone way too far here. Very flimsy plastic pint of marinated mozzarella popped open on way home coating EVERYTHING I bought in oil, including the floor and table. A pint of inexpensive soup from Chinese take out is the gold standard. I thought this store was. Get a plastic bag from produce so as not to recreate my experience.

I loved this bakery! It was very clean and the pastries are so beautiful. It smells like heaven…read more I got the almond croissant- I wish I got some for later too. So delicious. The staff is very friendly and patient as well. I would definitely recommend this bakery.

I had ordered a birthday cake two days ahead of pick up time in late March. I ordered a whlte half…read moresheet cake with butter cream frosting. I had ordered blue birthday frosting decorations. Well, upon pick up I opened the box to inspect. It all looked good but the decorating could have been a little more. I mean not to question their strengths or weakness, but it could have used a little fluff rather than just a cluster of blue roses in the in upper left corner and Happy Birthday A_____w. It was half sheet cake with lots of space to work with. Anyways, when it came time to cut the cake for service, the cake crumbled under the weight of the knife. I was overseeing the process and the cake cutter was trying his best to achieve a decent portion intact, but with litte success. I immediately tasted the cake before it went my 40 person party. It was moist and flavorful but it crumbled to the touch. I couldn't put my finger on what was causing it, I felt like something was maybe missing from the recipe. It was later in the day when it came to me the answer to my problem. The cake it self had been made fresh, then frozen, thawed out, frosted and decorated. The freezing of the cake made it crumble at time of service. Very disappointing. I didn't last minute order this cake, so why they used frozen cake for my order I cannot understand. Convenience for them I guess, but I was not informed that previously frozen cake would be an option. Each and every piece of cake just crumbled on the plate and presentation was horrible. We were stuck with an inferior cake. I will not be returning to this bakery.
