I love this store for many years . I used to only buy at Demontes across the street but once the owner Larry sold out to a partner it lost its appeal to me and got very pricey.Pastosa has some great food, fabulous homemade fresh pastas and sauce and the prices are still pretty good. Friendly nice people who work there and own it. One day I was having some people over and I went to Pastosa for there homemade garlic toast rounds to but Brushetta on them as a little appetizer. They were completely out of them they couldn't make them in the timeframe I had. One of the people who work there saw how disappointed I was and went into the kitchen to get me there actual recipe on exactly how to make them myself. They actually took the time to explain how to make them and I bought everything I needed to go home to replicate these delicious garlic round toasts. They even cut up the Italian breads into the right size pieces. What a wonderful thing to do for me. In addition their prepared food is always fresh and delicious and this made this particular Pastosa SPECIAL TO ME. read more

I was disappointed in fresh mozzarella. wasnt soft and fresh. I felt like I was eating pollo mozzarella from supermarket. especially after paying that price. crab cakes are the best read more

We have close friends who are from the area and recently they brought us back some amazing pastas and sauces which we've been using to make some excellent Italian dinners. Their gnocchi is fluffy and has a perfect texture! Their marinara and pesto sauces were both incredible! But a fav of ours so far has been their stuffed shells... absolutely amazing! We highly recommend giving them a try, whether you get it via mailorder or stop in a shop and get some frozen to go - GET SOME!!! This was the particular location we got our food from and we thoroughly enjoyed it all! read more

Can I move in here? Let me set up a cot right in the deli section. Seriously, everything is incredible. The food is fresh. We gorged ourselves on the fresh mozzarella. The focaccias are to die for. And of course, the ravioli is always a thing of beauty. read more

Pastosa Ravioli has always been great. what makes them stand out from the rest is the fact that they carry and sell both Vegan/Vegetarian ravioli and pasta options. This is a game changer and I haven't seen this anywhere else around. The Ravioli were fresh frozen and cooked up perfectly. Most importantly they tasted great cooked up in Sunday sauce. The price was right and I'll always come back to Pastosa's! read more

Best Ravioli in Staten Island. They always have a great assortment of Italian homemade products. Very good selection for gluten and dairy free customers. read more

Everything I have ever bought here is excellent The pre made sauces, the various pasta's all excellent But, the ravioli are easily the best on the planet read more

Fresh pasta and meats are excellent. Unfortunately they no longer know how to cut cold cuts properly. It's nearly impossible to separate the thin shreds they make of otherwise good quality meats and cheeses. I let them know and nothing changes. read more

I used to live super close to this one. "Love" made me relocate to Jersey. I still take a trip over the bridge every week or 10 days to do my shopping. This place is a necessity. I'd die without it. read more

What is not to love about Pastosa?!?! We now live in NH but when traveling to Staten Island to always pack a large cooler to bring back food. From stuffed breads to fennel sausages , salami, pepperoni to great breads. All that we can't get anywhere in NH. We will return again and again.... read more

After witnessing something so cruel, I can say they lost a loyal customer. This old man went in here trying to return a small jar of sauce because he was not able to properly read the label, as he did not have his glasses. The old man apologized and explained he got the wrong one accidentally with Prosciutto and he doesn't eat that. He explained this to the girl and she got the manager who was very sarcastic and disrespectful to him. The manager came out with a nasty look saying "oh you opened this already, what can I do with this, what good is this ? it's a sin"etc. I watched this manager chase this old man out of the store screaming at him trying to cause a fight, patting his chest. I am astonished at this customer service. It is obscene to act in such unprofessional cruel manner. Accidents happen and we should really be considerate and respect our elders and people with disabilities ! When I'm older I hope if I misread something the place will be understanding and considerate ! read more

I love this store. Everything I have ever purchased here was amazing. I heard yesterday you are closing. I'm begging you to reconsider. I have been coming to this store since 1998 and you have the best ravioli and all your frozen pastas and everything else you sell. This is very sad , thank you for your wonderful store. You will be missed by everyone in Eltingville. read more

I was not happy with the people that cut the old cuts TERRIBLE. They do not listen to how you want them sliced. The pastosa on Richmond rd is soo much better the workers care & it's not all young kids !! And better choice in prepared foods read more

My girlfriend introduced me to this amazing little Italian deli. I must admit the parking lot sucks but your usually in and out. Love the deli counter, the meat and cheese hanging, the fresh artichoke bread, the homemade manicotti (oh so good), among other things. They have a gluten free section, great cheese, breads, gelato; just a a classic Italian deli with the goods. Definitely a place to hit up and get some great food! read more

Meat is always fresh, staff is always friendly and the deli always gets my order right in terms of how I want my cold cuts cut and how much I want of each. Always a pleasure shopping here and ravioli and stuffed shells are top notch! read more

If you do not like Pastosa's, then I am fully convinced you do not like food. I love coming to this place. They have the best fresh mozzarella and ricotta. I could simply sit there with a spoon and eat their ricotta straight. So yummy! As is everything else here that I have had. The only thing I suggest is do not come here when you are hungry as you will be tempted to buy out the entire store. read more

My favorite neighborhood place for grab and go, just little bit store smells like butcher store !!!!!

If you're new to Staten Island and don't know Pastosa's, go visit and enjoy! You will become a fan for life. They have all of the Italian specialties that you could possibly want. I am there at least once a week for least some fresh Mozzarella and some of their fantastic oven baked bread. They are famous for their Raviolis which are always a hit with both kids and adults. I red some to my grandson last night and he devoured them! They make homemade sauces and I can say that they never disappoint. As much as I should be making my own sauce, these guys do a wonderful job. Pastosa's is simply one of the places you go to on Staten Island anywhere from once a month (to stock up on staples) to once every week. It's not a "choice" to go to Pastosa's, it's an absolute necessity! read more

Whether you are shopping for the ingredients of your own masterpiece, or trying their prepared foods, you will not be dissapointed by the quality, or the price. This particular store is better than the other locations, probably because they have their own kitchen and equipment (although the original is in Brooklyn on New Utrecht Avenue, as my dad continually reminds me.) Even the produce (not usually a specialty of italian stores like this) is great! Their Basil is fresh no matter what time of year, their diced garlic and onions (for the lazy chefs among us) are better than some whole fresh ones! Get a sandwich here. Buy some fresh Mutz for when you get home to cut up and eat while you do your chores or while you cook dinner. Pig out. You only live once. You may or may not see me begging in the front for your scraps =) read more

I've lived in this neighborhood for 6 years and have been to Pastosa at least once every week for all that time. Quality is second to none. Service always comes with a smile and often goes above and beyond. Quick example - when my wife is looking for a specific product or cut that isn't in the display case, the butcher will almost always go in the back and make/cut it or at least look to see if they can. Other reviews are spot on - the prepared food here is awesome. I defy you to find a better chicken marsala than what they've got at this location. It's definitely on my death row meal menu (if I ever had to make one). read more

i go to pastosa - especially when visiting my son - the amount of items tha he gives me a list for must come from pastosa grated cheese ravioli sliced hard sausages mild and hot olives all kinds different macroni and the service and prices are great read more

Would give 5 stars but parking lot suckkssssss And people just linger in the store and talk to people they haven't seen in forever and don't let you pass. Meats and deli counter have great stuff and frozen soups are awesome and fresh pasta is great. Also pasta sauces are awesome. Good food, people suck! read more

Maybe they should hire respectful and mature cashiers. Rude giggling teens make you lose business.

Amazing selection and delicious mozzarella.... store is clean and well organized, however I was there on Christmas Eve afternoon to pick up assorted items for my antipasto platter. The staff rushed me through the store actually telling me that I should point to the cheeses I wanted and the cashier girl would grab them for me ! Spending 100.00 and didn't want me to browse the cheese case ! I was in and out in under 10 minutes and wasn't even sure what I bought ! My plan was not to linger but I also expected to take a moment to look at the various items before I was literally pushed out the door! Still one of the best on the island and I will continue to recommend them to others .... just a bad experience on Christmas Eve read more

They have great stuff here. Their prepared food is always fresh and reasonably priced. Very good selection of meats. Parking can be a bit tricky at peak times but it's all good. Unlike most Italian Markets they currently don't charge a card fee. Much appreciated. read more

Avoid the prepared food. My hubby and I both got sick from the dour tasting lasagna and eggplant parm. Never again for cooked foods. Meats are great but expensive. Cheeses are great but expensive. Pasta us great but expensive. I guess if you aren't wealthy you shouldn't shop here. read more

This was my first time shopping at this location. I usually go to the one on Richmond Rd (which I prefer). I don't like that you can't really see the deli and they have limited produce. Prices are reasonable and there was no line. Meats looked fresh and workers were more than willing to help. Parking lot needs to be extended. read more

Nothing beats pastosa. I am beaming with joy whenever I see someone come home with a few bags from pastosa because that means delicious fresh mozzarella, homemade pasta, amazing bread, imported prosciutto- the list goes on and on. It is a little pricey, the parking lot truly is a pain, BUT it's unique and really always serves a delicious treat to go with your Sunday dinner. read more

Great place with quality food. I especially love the grilled chicken they serve here. They're also willing to make specials for the day if you call them early enough in the morning. The cannoli shells are outstanding as well. read more

First off this is not the place to go to if you're on a budget or you're cheap. You get what you pay for. Yes the fresh pasta products are pricey but are delicious and have a taste all their own. But if you are familiar with this type of store it is unique. No supermarket even comes close. I just hope it doesn't become some gourmet bougie type store. read more

Great store. Love the little girls on the register!

I love Pastosa . I love this location it is walking distance from the church I attend . My husband and I stopped by after church to get some gluten free rainbow cookies and gluten free black and white cookies. I then pointed to the gluten free freezer and he said see if they have gluten free lasagna grab it and I found gluten free lasagna sheets from DeRosa and he told me to get 2 . I love DeRosa products they are great quality . Pastosa is a great place to get a quick bite or snack. The cheeses, the homemade marinara , the meats , the sweet treats, the gluten free products and so much more. The store is small I will admit and the parking is not the best but parking can be found close by . It is a great little place with something for everyone . The Derosa gluten free lasagna sheets are the best ! read more

I don't know anyone who lives on Staten Island and doesn't go to Pastosa's for their Sunday dinner groceries. Best day of the week and Pastosa's comes through with the best mozzarella, raviolis, lasagna sheets and all that. Their mozzarellas definitely the most important thing there lol read more
