We love this hidden gem of a place we came back again ! This time we were sat in the other room which is nice. It is spacious and secluded from the main dining room so it was not so noisy. We had the baked clams and the mussels for appetizers. We decide to have one of the daily specials. We had Branzino. It was delicious !! My wife and I enjoyed it a lot. I got mine with potatoes and vegetables. She got hers with a side of pasta. It looked so good that we dug right in and forgot yo take photos ! Very nice, neighborhood restaurant. We came for lunch and had a three course meal on a Saturday for about $30 each. Not a bad deal these days! Food was good. Nobody left hungry. Authentic Italian food with gluten free pasta options for those who have that preference. When we walked in, a nice lady took us to our table. I was with two kids and they were somewhat active. There weren't many people in the restaurant and everyone was very understanding. There is a pizzeria kitchen attached to the restaurant. Plenty of people were coming for takeout. This was my second time there and I would go back. My parents live nearby and visit more often. They know the second shift server. Traditional Italian American house on Richmond Avenue, Staten Island. Tin type ceiling, wall paintings, back bar and well trained waitstaff that knows how to make you feel like royalty. We were there for a light lunch and decided to share two appetizers, Calamari Friti and Melanzon Florentino. While we waited, they brought us a small bowl of olives and tomato garlic olive oil spread for the table bread. They were a good forespice for conversation and settling in. Both dishes arrived simultaneously, along with smaller dinner plates for dividing the great looking offerings. The Calamari was perfectly fried with a side dish of red sauce. It contained both rings and tentacles - just the way I love them. The Eggplant was light, tender and creamy from the fresh ricotta, and gently spiced by the generous pink sauce. Excellent. Casa Verde is definitely a place to return to for a full bore dinner, including vino. A worthy neighborhood kitchen. read more

Went again in a Monday evening. Again, service was impeccable; price fix menu for Sunday through Thursday had a variety of choices. Friend and I shared apps of rollatini and fried calamari. The rollatini was amazing but I think the fried calamari was a bit overcooked and the squid rings and tentacles were thin and small. However, I had asked for a substitution because it was not a choice in the price fix menu and my request was accommodated. A generous salad with an excellent house dressing came next but we had ours packed up because we wanted to have plenty of room for the main courses: chicken Marsala- a generous portion of chicken breasts in a delicious brown gravy with plenty of mushrooms. Also ordered cavatelli with broccoli rabe and sausage. There was significantly less pasta in this dish than I expected and I was thrilled with that! I love broccoli rabe and sausage and the pasta just added to the flavors rather than take up too much room on the plate. Desserts were limited because they didn't have them all but we didn't care. Love the style of the restaurant too. One glass of wine with an app, salad, main course and dessert with a generous tip---$63 each. Great value and great food. For an appetizer, we chose their pristine eggplant franchise rollitini (eggplant rolled with spinach and ricotta). We couldn't be happier with our choice! For entrees, I went for the pasta special, penne with shrimps [sic], clams, and brocolli rabe in a garlic and earl [sic]. And, my Wife ordered the Bucatini Siciliana (baked pasta with mozz and eggplant). Both dishes were beyond our expectations!! For desert, we ordered a delectable light melt in your mouth Italian Cheese cake with two decaf cafes!! Not only was the food terrific, the service our Server Ashely provided was just the best!! Your basic Italian restaurant. We were a party of 6. Menu was the usual Italian fare. Nothing remarkable. Friendly waitress but very inexperienced. She named 4 or 5 beers. She was unsure which beer they had run out of. Told my friend they had run out of one beer which he later found out they had. Told me she did have another beer which they wound up not having. Food was decent. I had shrimp parm which was ok. Everyone said their food was good not great. Prices were reasonable. The owner did check our table a few times as he seemed to know our waitress was new (friendly enough but not efficient). What this place lacks in size makes up for in everything else. The parking lot is small and the restaurant is small but they welcome you with open arms and smiles. We had a nice big glass of wine and a chicken parm with pasta dinner. Lots of sauce (I asked for more) which was tasty and everything was cooked nicely, seasoned well and was a good portion. No complaints except it is a little tight in there but you make the best of it. Good service and good prices. You almost wanted to give them a hug when you leave. Food was bland and tasteless thank god for the few pieces of garlics My wife ordered the grilled octopus salad .It was described as grilled octopus over arugula salad. The octopus was definitely microwaved and was chopped into little pieces. I ordered the spaghetti with shrimps arugula tomato's and gaeta olives. The shrimps were good the rest was tasteless . My wife had the Chilean sea bass as her entree , we have had Chilean sea bass in other Restaurants almost every time it's a special, this fish they served her definite was not Chilean Sea bass. We had heard from friends that this restaurant was great so this is why we decided to check it out . We went and did not have reservation's, when we entered the restaurant the maitre'd asked if we had reservations and we said we did not and he said give me a few minutes and never came back to us. We were seated opposite the kitchen doors , where you can see exactly what was happening in the kitchen when the door was left open. At one point a waiter walked out with an order for another table and it was wrong we saw the waiter tell the maitre'd and the maitre'd took the dish from the waiter and brought it back to the kitchen and we saw him taking food out of the dish which looked like he was pulling the shrimp out of the plate with his bare hands and then give it back to the waiter then back to the table. Hope that person wasn't allergic. The Maitre'd was drinking a glass of wine touching his phone and never once saw him was his hands. We did not have dessert or coffee couldn't get out of there soon enough. The young girl server with glasses was very nice and polite. The waiter was nice. There was an older woman with blond hair and glasses who rang up all the bills which I noticed . After my credit card was processed she just walked over to our table and dropped my card on our table and walked away without saying thank you . Come on Politeness goes along way really rude. I did like that the young girl server and waiter did change our silverware between the courses. If you own a restaurant learn proper etiquette. Almost forgot when the butter dish was brought to our table an open butter top was stuck to the side of the dish (see pic). Please improve your service . read more

I love the pizza but hate the process I have to go through to get it. There is what sounds like a younger girl who answers the phone and no matter how many times you go over the order with her, she still manages to screw it up. Been waiting an hour for pizza we live two minutes away from. This girl is either on drugs or unbelievably incompetent but she needs to be taken off the phone because it's insane. He took me here for our first real date, so obviously he thinks highly of the place Owner and waiter know him well, always go out of their way to accommodate and know exactly what he orders and how he likes it. Well well well. Maybe it's because I live in Brooklyn. Maybe it's because I'm uncomfortable around groups of retired wasps. Maybe it's because I had a bad day. I didn't like it as much as I'd think. We had a fair share of everything - two kinds of linguini, a pizza, and some appetizer I have trouble recalling their names. The linguini goes nicely with red sauce, but definitely not the white sauce - it was ridiculously tepid, had barely any taste to it, and they obviously didn't clean the clams thoroughly as I could still taste the sand. There wasn't enough cheese on the pizza, but otherwise it tasted alright. We didn't order any wine hence the waitress displayed a not-so-impressed attitude. We didn't cut our tip because of it, but I think they need to respect the fact that not everyone is down for alcohol 24/7. I'll keep an eye on this place to see if these issues are resolved, but otherwise, not my kind of place. read more

Disgusting! Adam, the owner, was unfortunately picking his nose right in front of me and my son, while sitting in the main dining area, right near customers as we were forced to watch this! GROSS! Also, The waitress was very pushy and downright rude, beyond acceptable. They let us in just before 9 pm, And rushed us all along the way and this made dinner quite uncomfortable. They should Just say, "Folks, we are sorry, we are closing in 15 minutes - please come back at another time." No. They invited us in to spend $115 and decided they were going to make us feel uncomfortable all through the meal. My advice? Don't go here. The food isn't anything to brag about anyway. And the treatment was unacceptable. I repaid the waitress for her rudeness with a 10 % tip. One of the more intelligent people there realised that I was not happy and decided to offer us a free after-dinner drink - but at this point I declined but I thought that was kind of classy because he knew I was not happy.
