We're staying nearby at one of the local motels, and we were driving around looking for a place to eat and saw how full the restaurant was so we stopped in. Wow! I decided to stop and get some pasta for my lunch today. I haven't been to pasting for probably 2 years. I'm not in this area very much. But I needed to run over there for something so I called ahead and ordered the Chicken Piccata. I also ordered a peice of garlic bread to go. I was there in about 10 min to pick it up. It was ready for me when I got there and the receptionist was lovely. BUT, then she told me my total was 17.97! WHAT?? Then I thought ," OK, if it's good and hot it will be worth it!" It's freezing here today. We'll it wasn't good or hot! It was cold and awful. There was nothing on the pasta but oil and maybe some salt. The chicken was said to be grilled( that's what it said on the menu) it was boiled! Yep! BOILED! It was stringy and tough and dry. All in all crappy food. The garlic bread was cold and it was made with garlic salt( when I'm home and I want garlic bread for a snack or to dip in my soup, the garlic salt kind is fine..but not if I'm spending almost 18.oo!!) Pastini's used to be fairly consistent. The Italian food, while unimaginative, was edible and when dining in, the staff friendly and efficient. However, after ordering a take out order I came home to discover the food was not only bland and had no taste, the "brushetta" they advertised as crunchy covered in parmesan cheese was nothing but cold slabs of white bread with a glaze of so-called cheese on top. The tomato vinaigrette was tasteless and the chicken in the salad was rubbery and over-done. I'm very disappointed for although the food was chain-store Italian at least it used to be dependably edible. read more

Atmosphere warm and service friendly. I enjoyed my shrimp dish. 2 improvements would be to serve the bread warm, and butter thawed. The other improvement would be for the wine to be served at table from the bottle into the carafe or glass. How do I know I'm getting what wine I ordered? It was alright. Not great for the price I'd say. The sauce seemed to be lacking a bit of flavor and almost had too much of a garlic taste that overpowered the rest of the pasta. There was also not a ton of pasta in the bowl. A bit lack-luster if you ask me. The butternut squash; some pieces were cooked well and some not quite enough. This is a newer location in a newer complex (AKA this entire complex was not here when I had gone to college...sad, I know) I'm glad Corvallis upped the anty and threw in some newer places to not only create jobs but have an outlet for people to go to. I swear, it's nearly impossible to eat dinner anywhere after an OSU game on a Saturday night! My family and I were in Corvallis visiting my brother for Dad & Family weekend. We walked down 2nd, 3rd, and 4th streets in downtown, and everywhere had about an hour wait. So, we decided to drive down 9th where we passed by Pastini Pastaria, and thought that place looks decent! Of course when we get there, it's also an hour wait. HOWEVER - we said eff it and decided to wait anyway since the plus side is that there are Trader Joes and TJ Maxx to kill time at (of course we impulse shopped and bought random snacks and ate all the samples there since we were HANGRY at this point, lol). When we finally got seated and served, I was really impressed by everything. First off, the wait staff was very attentive and spot on. Our orders came out relatively quick. And most importantly, food was delicious. I tried the soup special - cauliflower & parmesan, caesar salad, and carbonara. My family also loved everything they ordered. All in all, well worth it. And would definitely eat here again if I had the opportunity. read more

I hope the reason they aren't as good as pre-covid is they don't have the same cooks or something but we ate there a couple weeks ago and I got the linguini piccata. It was not picatta. It was wet pasta with over cooked tiny slices of bland chicken. There was some lemony liquid at the bottom of the bowl and a few capers but it was not good. Back again for more awesome food! Last night we invited a friend to join us because of our wonderful previous experiences. Last night was no exception! Even though the restaurant was absolutely slammed with large parties of hungry swim team teens, the food and service was top-notch! The host, all of the servers, cooks, and manager were on top of things! My menu choices didn't stray too far from my previous visit (and review) because it was that good! Instead of a Caesar salad last night, I decided on the cup of the creamy tomato basil soup instead. It was very nice and bursting with flavor and richness. We were greeted by our previous server, Jacob, and introduced to Josh, our server for the evening. He did a wonderful job and even management pitched-in during the busy evening and came to our table and delivered items and asked how our experience was. The host, Mike, held the door for us as we exited and wished us a nice evening. Again, we were all very impressed with the food and service, especially considering how crowded it was last night. It was walking distance from the hotel that we stayed while in Corvallis for a wedding. We got there around 8:40 and they sat us right away. The service was great and they took our order and we got our food fast. True there were 2 other tables eating but it was still good service. They start you off with a basket of bread. There was so much bread that we didn't finish it. I ordered the kale salad and the gorgonzola tortellini w/ chicken. Hubby ordered a bowl of soup since he was feeling under the weather. The kale salad was good. The walnuts were raw but it would have been better with toasted walnuts though. The pasta was a little too salty but I paid extra for chicken and there was barely any chicken. Our bill was $27. My meal was $21. Not sure if it is worth $21 especially since there was almost no chicken. Hubby enjoyed his soup but then again he was sick. I was going to give it a 3 stars but the service was excellent. If I ever go back, I would just stick with the salad and add chicken. read more

The baked Ziti was not good, it was a marinara sauce but it was bland. I will say the server was super helpful and nice though. Forgot his name unfortunately, older guy talks a bit. I placed an order 3 hours ago and still don't have an eta of when it will be done and it's not done. I understand it's Valentine's Day but their communication is horrible and the service is below average. We cancelled our order after 3 hours. Update- I have changed my review from 1 star to a 3 stars. The above experience did happen but it was met with a big apology from a really kind manager named Jeremy the day after and a correspondence with the owner the days following. I brought my mother here and met my daughter and teenage granddaughters for lunch. The granddaughter's favorite cuisine is Italian and this restaurant had been recommended by a friend. I'm sorry to say, we are all disappointed. The calamari wasn't even warm when it was served and was flavorless and tough. My mother and I ordered the mac and cheese entree with the applewood smoked bacon........I would be surprised if there was an entire slice of bacon in both of our entrees combined but they still charged $2.50 pet entree for the bacon! I didn't get exact comments from my daughter and grands but the little I did hear, none of them were impressed either.
