Tiramisu

Overall, great pasta spot in Corvallis! The dining area is a good size, but definitely gets loud during the busy dinner hours! Service was quick and friendly. Spaghetti with meatballs- nicely flavored, and good portion Ziti con Broccolini added Chicken- very garlicky and tasty Tiramisu- delicious as always

Have not been here in a few years.. and this place has really gone downhill. Sadly they don't even give you bread anymore and charge you $3.50. What kind of Italian place does that. The food came out so fast there was absolutely now way it was fresh. And the food was only ok.. The prices were not crazy but they were not under charging and the portions were on the smaller side. I would think the average meal is running about $20 a plate. The only plus side was our waiter was very nice and gave good service. I don't have any plans to be back here anytime soon. This is a sad deal this place use to be good. I hope they can turn the place around the Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon areas need good food places.

Food and service are excellent. The soup was tender and delicious. Service was kind and recognized I am gluten free so asked if I wanted to leave the bread off.

Bistro Salad

Ordered takeout after a long day. They said it would be 30 minutes but when we arrived it was ready after 20 minutes. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs, ziti con broccolini, and small bistro salad. My son wasn't terribly hungry but still finished the spaghetti and meatballs. I'm guessing if he was his usual hungry he would have wanted more- and it needed to have a bit more. The small salad was quite small- really get like it should have been a bit bigger. For a dollar more MOD pizza has HUGE salads that are triple the size for almost the same price. The ziti was very tasty but considering its broccolini, nuts and pasta I also felt like it was a bit overpriced. Overall the food was tasty but feel like a little more food for the price was needed.

I had a nice dinner with my family tonight after the OSU Beavers thumped the visiting Stanford Cardinal (not even close). It was especially nice since it was Veterans Day, which meant a free meal for me and a portion of today's sale go to Veteran causes. Super cool. My wife love Pastini and their gluten free pasta. I like the fresh, house made pasta. My kids just love eating out. My wife had the (GF sub) Baked Ziti, my son the Spaghetti with Spicy Sausage, and my daughter and I each had the Bolognese (my go-to). As I have found before, delicious. In fact, no one had anything bad to say about the food, the location or the experience.

The hostess at the front desk seems genuinely happy to see us and, since we told her we like to sit at the bar, let us pick the seats we wanted. Our bartender/server was just the sweetest and most attentive ever. Chatted with us while making drinks for others and making us feel like the most important people in the bar, The food was excellent and perfect sized helpings, The Sangiovese wine, perfect and who knew Eugene made such yummy limoncello! If you are in town and looking for good Italian food, this is your place! We will be back.

The restaurants ambiance has a soft, intimate feel to it, but neither the chairs nor tables have the element of class one would expect. In fact, the perimeter of the seating area has wooden benches which make sitting comfortably relative to the table a trick. Meanwhile, the actual chairs reminded me more of modern living room chairs as opposed to dining chairs. As for the food, we found the two main courses rather tasty:one being a steak kabob and the other a lamb kabob. I have had the lamb kabob on another occasion and both times it was cooked so the lamb was juicy and tender: rather delicious. However, the lamb kabob only came with one skewer of meat. On the other hand, the wagyu beef kabob was very tasty in it's own right and this was two skewers worth. I had trouble squaring that discrepancy in my head - so be it. As an appetizer, we shared the calamari dish. I am used to large plates of breaded, fried calamari cooked to perfection from my days eating at Italian restaurants in New York. This appetizer came in a small cup, which appeared to be an 8 ounce size (the cup was fancy and black, consistent with the image they are trying to project). The calamari dish was good, but not anything special. Thus, without considering that this restaurant markets itself as, a high end , gourmet restaurant, I would rate the food portion of the review a 4 star. However, that must be adjusted to reflect the food preparation relative to marketed expectation and that knocks it down to a marginal 4, at best, probably a 3 in my book. The real killer was the service. I will say it was both pleasant and polite. However, this is the type of restaurant that is marketed to appeal to the romantic dinner crowd with high end expectations: the professionalism of the service fell far short. To begin with, the host and waitress sat us at a table directly next to another couple. Note that I had made a reservation for 7. When we arrived there were only three tables occupied. However, we were sat directly next to another couple even though we could have been sat another two tables away for far greater privacy and a more romantic experience. Then the waitress exhibited zero personality throughout the evening. In addition, she came over while we were still eating our main courses and asked if we wanted the dessert menus, even though the restaurant would be open for another hour. All in all, I feel that the server was a nice person, but was obviously not very experienced and added nothing to the experience - not what one expects in a place that is marketing itself as upscale. I had a restaurant business and used slow times as an opportunity to observe and teach. I noticed nobody making such an effort in a situation that called for it: a big oversight and lost opportunity for three parties: the server because they are not being assited to grow, the patron because the service impacts the consumers overall quality of the experience and the owner for the obvious reason that it impacts business long-term. I call it the win-win-win formula and this restaurant would benefit from applying this concept to training the wait staff so they are at the patrons expectation level. In summary, if this were a casual restaurant I would rate it a 3, but because of how the business is slotting itself into the market with it's pricing, portion sizes, ambiance and menu presentation - I believe it only merits a 2 star review in that particular market segment. I do not believe you will be disappointed with the overall experience, but neither time have I left their feeling wowed, and both times I left feeling that the experience did not meet the expectation for the cost nor for the intimate, romantic feel they want to project as providing

This is a nicely marked location with plenty of parking…read more The interior is clean and well lit with a soft ambiance and overhead music. We took a booth in the lounge and found it very spacious and comfortable. The staff is very cordial and welcoming and we felt no need to rush. We started with drinks and a calamari appetizer. I was wowed by the calamari. I had previously reviewed a calamari that was tender, but the calamari at the Old Spaghetti Factory truly is tender. So much so that just to prove my point I cut it with a butter knife, easily. It was freshly prepared and seasoned with a crisp thin batter. It came with a small bowl of marinara rather than a cocktail sauce which was an excellent pairing. For our three course meal, (which consists of soup or salad, entree and ice cream) I started with the minestrone soup. It was steaming hot with the classic flavors of fresh veggies and bits of pasta. There was just enough pepper to warm you up on a cold wet day. The rest of the flavors made for a very refreshing soup that wakes the taste buds. A small loaf of bread was brought out with a small ramekin of butter. The bread is hard to cut at first, then we figured out to poke the knife into the loaf and then it cut well. It is very fresh and the crust is very crisp. The butter is a softened garlic butter and spreads well. My entree was the Garlic Shrimp Fettuccine. This was a big hit. I found it very creamy and buttery. The cheese was just enough to add to the flavor and texture. This combined well with the cream, wine and hint of lemon. Add a generous portion of shrimp and it was pasta nirvana. The Blackberry Italian cream soda was a very clean refreshing taste. The drink was flavorful and was presented in separate layers of cream and syrup. For dessert I chose the spumoni. It was a swirled blend of chocolate, pistachio, cherry and almond. Very smooth and creamy. The lounge was very comfortable, and again we had no sense of urgency to hurry. It was nice to be able to visit old friends and have a relaxing meal with no rush. Brandon was our server and the only reason I name him is because he was outstanding in his polish and service. He is the reason for the fifth star in this review. His service was very timely and consistent. He made us feel we could have stayed all afternoon just drinking and dining and visiting.

The…read morerestaurant was super empty when we arrived, but looking around, the restaurant also seemed short-staffed. I've visited a number of Old Spaghetti Factory locations in California before, so I'm well familiar with the lunch menu. The loaf of bread that arrived on our table after we placed our order was piping hot. It was actually so hot, it was difficult to pick up and cut. There's no doubt that this bread is as fresh as it gets. The minestrone soup I opted for with my entree was filled to the brim and packed with a variety of veggies. If you're looking to cut some calories, you'll definitely want to go with the soup over one of their heavily dressed salads. My wife and I actually split their manager's favorite with meat sauce and mizithra cheese. We opted to up-size to a hearty portion for $4.99, which comes with extra sauce and noodles. The spaghetti was well cooked in terms of texture, but could have been drained a bit better. The meat sauce had a bunch of ground beef in it, and the mizithra cheese was salty, nutty, and tangy. If this is your first time visiting an Old Spaghetti Factory location, I highly recommend trying out the mizithra cheese because I have not see this option offered anywhere else. I regret to report that one dish our party ordered was completely dropped. It was difficult to flag down our server to inform them of the issue, so we ended up having to run around the restaurant to find a staff member. We ended up waiting close to 15 more minutes for the last dish to be prepared, at which point all the food that had been delivered earlier had dropped to being room temperature. Overall, it was a mixed meal. Service was somewhat lacking, and food was pretty standard as far as Old Spaghetti Factory locations.

The menu is broad enough that there's plenty to pick from. We were there for dinner. The food was delicious! Hubby had the 2-meat BBQ plate with pulled pork and 1/2 rack of ribs. He really liked his ribs. He was pleased with the baked beans, too. And I got the steak salad. Delicious! When trying a new place, I always go for that and I was not disappointed one bit! I tried both the baker's roll (rosemary and sage today) and the heart attack roll. Neither made me think I was eating GF. As first-timers, we were given free chocolate chip cookies. The centers were soft and moist with crisp edges. I do like a ymmy sweet to finish off the meal. It's really nice to have a GF restaurant where the family can all go and find something without compromising selection or taste. We'll certainly be back!!
