I have come to this bakery twice now for desserts for special occasions with friends and family. They're so friendly and accommodating they're the only bakery I will use. Not to mention the taco side has lots of tasty menu items as well. They have so much variety and the quality of rich decadent desserts is far beyond compare to any grocery bakery. There is so much attention to detail in their artistry. Everyone at my party absolutely loved the cake. I can't say enough good things about this business. As I mentioned they also have a food menu and in my opinion it's the best authentic Mexican food on this side of town. This place is great I went here for a snack on this blistering hot day and there are so many options it's almost overwhelming!(which in my opinion is a good thing). The prices are very affordable and have great value(One big scoop of ice cream is $1.50!!! Yes please) but the prices are listed are confusing as to what item it goes to in the displays but luckily they have a more organized price list above the counter. I ended up ordering a cupcake and a scoop of ice cream it came out to a little over $4 and was pretty good. The ice cream was creamy and sweet (thrifty's ice cream) and you get the option of frosting or whipped cream on your cupcake (which I love because I hate frosting. I could've stranded for the strawberry cupcake to have a stronger flavor(it almost tasted like vanilla dyed pink) but I didn't mind too much. They were all super friendly and helpful with our cake order! Even though she didn't have many of the decorations we wanted, she allowed us to bring it in ourselves unlike other bakeries. And she did her best to replicate the image we found. I think she did amazing! The cake was very tasty as well! For this particular cake, it was $80. We provided the wine bottle, macaroons, candy pieces and custom topper. She probably could have provided it, but she would of had to order it which would have taken too long. I asked that it be decorated with different colored flowers, chocolate tres leches, some cupcakes, and cake pops as well. Pastelería Elizabeth followed through thoroughly in every sense. Not only were all the items beautiful, the were all delicious. People kept asking where I had gotten all of these treats because they wanted to do business with them! We ordered a Birthday cake, we called had a small inconvenience of having to go to the business next door to pick up the cake because the actual pastelería was closed. I was disappointed to open the cake box and it did not say happy birthday or have any type of color just the name of the person we were celebrating. The owner's son threw on some sprinkles last minute and gave us birthday ribbons to decorate it OURSELVES... We were even more disappointed to cut into the cake and find out it was not what we ordered AT ALL. The owner no longer answered our calls. Waste of almost $50 for a cake that wasn't even correct. This place needs to be shut down!!!! My husband decided to stop by and try some of their pastry's and brought home two flans that come in a cup. I could not believe what i was seeing they were full of mold ridiculous amount like they have had to be months old!!!! The worst part he had one bite out of ithe took them back and they had the audacity to say thats the way the cooked sugar looked!!! I bought a few cakes and they were all very delicious and everyone compliments how tasty they are. They also serve thrifty ice cream and have a cute outdoor seating. It's a small bake shop and their selection is limited but you can always order ahead. The price is reasonable. They also have a Instagram and fb image with their work. I did have instances where I wanted a certain design on my cake but the baker just told me she couldn't do it. I'm ok with that. You cannot expect a cake boss cake here but the baker could suggest on what she can do for you. This is a Mexican style bakery shop and have tres leches, piña colada and more Mexican tasty flavors. I really didn't want to write this review. My son's 1st Birthday was a few months ago. I searched around for a place that could make me a half sheet of tres leches. The only places I found near me were grocery stores. When I found this pastelería I went ahead and called them for an estimate. I wanted tres leches, no decoration, just whipped cream. The person quoted me 80, and while I thought it was a bit steep for a simple cake I went ahead and ordered it because I wanted to support a local business here in Laveen. Well fast forward to my sons birthday. My sister went to go pick up the cake, ended up paying 100 with tip. When we cut into the cake later that day, it was just white sheet cake, no tres leches(milk)! That's what makes the cake. So upsetting. FAIL .I am getting married in December, My sister being a local in this area told me to come check this bakery out to help out a local business and give them a try. Fast forward a couple of days we walked in , they were busy about 4 ppl in like we waited patiently and got to see some of the cakes that were going out. 1 man picked up a baby-shower cake that looked like a 3 year old decorated it. I thought "thankfully my cake wont have letters or pictures on it" Once it was our turn the girl in the front was so rude she asked what we needed and I told her I was there to place an order and pay for it. She looked at me and my sister and then completely ignored what we said and ignored the fact that we were in front of the register and asked the people behind us what they needed. After she got done with the people behind us she said "can you guys come back another time" the owner heard and watched the whole thing & did not say a word. REALLY!!!!??? Me living in North Scottsdale and having opposite schedules from my sister making this trip to the bakery was a mission and now this women is telling me come back another time because they had too many cake orders being picked up today? Ok, so I came here for my sons 18th birthday cake. I bought a 10" round White frosted cake and wanted to have a round BMW fondant logo put on the top. Pretty simple right!! I gave her 2 pictures to go off of. Days later I go back to pick it up! Seriously a 5 year old could have done a better job. I pretty much picked up a plain white frosted round cake with no piped borders at the bottom or the top. The logo came in a separate box that absolutely wasn't the logo at all it was totally different pattern then the picture I gave her. I would have assumed a bakery would have letter cookie cutter and shapes to handle jobs. Wow was I surprised. They hand shaped the circle that looked horrible and the letters were just as bad. Needless to say if you want a professional cake made you definitely don't want to come here. The price is the same as a real professional bakery so it's definitely not what you Pay for!! read more
