We have been going to PastAmore for a few years now and have never had a bad meal. On entering we are always warmly welcomed. The soups are homemade. The entrees are always cooked the way we ask, and if you have a special request and they have the ingredients, they will make it for you. My favorite is the Saltimbocca, it is always cooked to perfection. They have weekly specials that are very good. When on the menu, try the Cape Cod Special or the Pork Ossobuco which is out of this world! I don't know what a previous reviewer was talking about; One is always taken to their table WITH menus and where we sit there has always been carpeting. Perhaps they may want to give it another chance? We have introduced Pastamore to our family, friends and out of town colleagues because we know we will get consistently excellent food and service. Had the strawberry walnut spinach salad, chicken saltimboca (with pappardelle, since as it should be you pick your pasta!) and split a bomba for dessert (the cinnamon really adds to it). Very friendly and prompt service. Excellent menu selection. Everything we had was very tasty, but with understated spices. Dessert was delicious, but avoid the coffee. We finally tried this restaurant after recommendations from other people. We were disappointed. The meals we got were ok but not great. There was not much seasoning which made it seem bland to us. Perhaps our taste is not refined enough for such delicately prepared foods. Our server was very attentive and personable but new. That could explain why we were not offered grated Parmesan for our meal and I waited a long time for a second glass of wine. All in all it was a pleasant experience but the food was not even close to worth what we paid for it. We may give it a second try just in case we caught them on an off night. read more

This is a nice little Italian restaurant with simple yet very nice decor. Not the least expensive place around, but worth the price all the same. We have never seen it very busy, but we aren't usually out on Friday and Saturday nights. If you're not careful you will mess the entrance or get stuck in the parking lot behind it. The service is always good, nothing fancy and we have never been rushed. I'm not crazy about the Brushetta, there is too much bread and it's not crunchy. Al the dinners we have tried there have all been quite good. The last time we were there I had the Bianco Verde, would have liked more than two pieces of asparagus, but the meal was still very good. I have driven past this place so many times without stopping until last Monday. I has a Chicken Parm sandwich and a side of meatballs. Both were delicious. The meatballs were fantastic, which is rare. They were complimented with a sweet red sauce that was equally fantastic. Had high hopes but was completely let down. Fishy tasting calamari fritti appetizer. Rings only, no bodies. Chicken Parm Panini tasted like it was overcooked in burnt oil. Meatballs were lacking flavor and were mushy. All of it covered in one of the worst marinaras we have ever had. And sorry, but some of the worst french fries around. For a small little place in Amherst, this is a surprisingly good restaurant! The calamari is delicious, and I really enjoy the Chicken Parmesan. The only dish we have ever been disappointed with are pastas that are not pesto or red-sauce... The kitchen struggles with white-wine sauced pastas. They're pretty bland. I've always been impressed with their ability with mixed drinks. I've ordered some highly specific whiskey drinks, and they've always been spot in. Overall, a good local place! A friend suggested we dine here, as he had been previously. This is a family run affair: the owner's daughter served us, and my friend introduced me to the owner and his wife, who were also working there. We started with antipasto, and I had chicken lasagna for an entree, accompanied with a nice Sicilian wine. Sorbet and espresso completed a delicious meal. These folks care about you and do all they can to make sure you enjoy your meal and are well served. It's a small, family/owner run, Italian restaurant with great food and a warm atmosphere. We keep returning, after finding it, and have pretty much worked our way through most of the menu, wanting to try something new every time. Pretty much everything is my favorite. The dipping oil for the bread, and the bread itself, is incredible. Consider making a reservation or arriving early for dinner, because this place is getting more and more popular. read more

Third visit and I hope they stay for a long time. Conveniently located in Amherst between two so-called Italian restaurants in Milford and Merrimack, this is place is straight legit, as my son would say. Real authentic Italian cuisine served promptly and with awesome flavors. Today I had the Chicken sauteed with onions, zucchini, and broccoli over angel hair pasta. I have had the Pasta with Bolognese sauce in the past and other lunch specials. Bread is homemade and the dipping sauce is awesome (just ask and they will send you home (NC) with some bread and dipping sauce for your appetizer at home). Can't say I'm incredibly impressed. Ordered the butternut squash ravioli for pickup. Got to the restaurant and the waitress/hostess lady seemed very rushed, handed me my food, and didn't say a word. Stood there for a good few minutes, waiting to see if I was all set and ended up just leaving. The pasta itself was not that great either considering I paid $20 for what ended up being six raviolis. The gelato it's not realy a gelato, it's just a regular and not so good ice cream. The truffle ravioli it's good you can see it's a fresh pasta. My favorite restaurant in the area. My husband and I go here for special occasions like anniversaries and such. It's the most authentic Italian food I've come across at a restaurant. WAY better than Georgio's (by miles). I always get the Gamberi Portofino with scallops and it is just amazing. I got it the first time I went and haven't ordered anything else there since. YUM. The southern part of NH has long needed a good Italian restaurant. We have many but for a really good italian meal I always journey to the North End of Boston. Well with PastAmore's arrival that has changed. I find little things when taken in toto make a big difference. Things like cooking pasta al dente, special dipping sauces for homeade bread, sensibly sized portions, waitstaff with a smile, pleasant decor, ........ Having recently returned from a European vacation, I find that I'm comparing all Italian restaurants to those of Northern Italy. Most do not compare very well, but PastAmore shines like the North Star. I have not yet sampled the entire menu, although I've made a good start, and what I have tried I have found delicioso. read more

Came here with my family, food was very good but their customer service really sold us. The mozzarella sticks and Caesar were delicious, the chicken Alfredo was also very good. My mother and I enjoyed our meals but my fathers pasta didn't come out right. He didn't say anything but when the waitress came to pick up our plates she noticed he barely touched his meal, so she brought us a new meal to take home and didn't charge us for either the meal he didn't enjoy or the one we took home which he enjoyed later. Our second visit. Saturday nite. All tables full but very good wait staff so service was excellent. Wife had baked haddock on pasta with olives and tomato sauce and I had a house specialty Pastamore which was fresh, homemade pappardelle with a chunky tomato sauce with hearts of artichokes and chunks of mozzarella. Both dishes were excellent. This is the kind of family restaurant that you really hope will succeed. Papa runs the kitchen, mom runs the front and a daughter helps waiting tables. Three years ago, 5 stars. After tonight's $98 dinner? Never again. Prices have steadily increased, while the quality had declined. My husband's veal was burned. My daughter's carbonara bland, boring. This was our first time back in a long time, having tired of the same old, same old increasingly inconsistent quality. And tonight's crew was incompetent in handling a loud, noisy group who had absolutely no respect for the other diners. They were milling around as if they were at a convention center, talking loudly, and even standing so close to tables their buttocks risked brushing into our dinners. An elderly couple finally asked for their food to go, then promptly informed the loud standing group that their rude behavior had robbed them and other diners of a quiet enjoyable dinner. The dim witted staff should have been the ones to take control. Instead, they hid behind the counter, watching it all happen, looking clueless. Later, the waitress approached us, telling us that the offending group would like to buy us a drink. We politely declined as we were not interested in alcohol. The waitress went back to the loud mouths who promptly expressed shock anyone would turn them down. The waitress profusely apologized to them that they were offended. "SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST THAT WAY????" DID WE REALLY HEAR THAT? Here's the deal. If you are in the hospitality business, you had better not leave your business to those who cannot cook or manage all situations. Negative 10 in real life. But one star in yelp-world which irks me I have to rate it that high. read more

So. Last Friday night we decided to go to PastAmore for an early, quick dinner. The owner (?), who had been our very pleasant and likeable server during a previous visit, met us at the entrance and...didn't say a thing!!! I kept thinking he was going to speak, so I was silent. Finally, he said. "Two?" We said, "Yes, please." The place was not (yet) filled, so when he took us to a table for two in a corner when the table for four beside it was available, we asked if we could have the table for four. The owner (?) asked "On a Friday night?" I replied that we didn't plan to be there all night, so he let us have the table. (My husband did ask him if he really planned to NOT give us the table we requested. He didn't reply.) Note here that the table for two had a "Reserved" sign on it. When he was going to seat us there, he put the sign on the table for four. When we sat down at the table for four, he moved it back to the table for two. Our server was excellent and very attentive to (most) details. We have no quarrel with her. The food was good, but a little lacking. I had the Chicken Marsala. It looked wonderful, but it was lacking the full flavor of Marsala that makes it so very delicious. Wouldn't have that as my entree again. To sum it up, we could not shake the uncomfortable, guilty feeling that began our evening. As I was leaving, I handed the owner (?) a "You've Been Yelped" card...I had a faint smile on my face...it was all I could muster up for him. read more

My husband and I were excited to try out this restaurant! We live locally and had heard the food was great! The hostess was very nice, asked if we had a reservation, we said no and she sat us in the back near the restrooms. We have two young children, we were so happy to be out-we didn't care where we sat! Unfortunately, over 15 minutes passed and no one came to our table. Customers who entered after us had wine, water and bread served, we had yet to see a waiter or waitress approach our table! We all loved this place, the wait staff is always polite and attentive. This family owned and run restaurant started out slow but within a year has grown exponentially. There has yet to be a dish served to myself, wife and 3 younger boys that was less than perfect. The kids are a Ways welcome with a smile, no pretentious attitudes. The last time we visited there the place was packed, we had to wait for a table, no one complained as they knew how good dinner would be. By the time we were seated there was an even longer line waiting to be seated and over hearing the general conversations from the crowd, they all seemed to be sharing tips on which meal was the best. I have been going to this restaurant for a couple of years, I don't know what has happened or if it was just an off night but the quality of food and lack of servers was a bit disheartening. Not sure we will go back, food was bland and our left overs were not packaged by our waitress, rather by some other individual in the back. I would have preferred to have been given a box to take my left overs home. We didn't keep the left overs and not sure if or when we will return. read more
