I grew up in Fresno, not that it was a huge metropolitan area but big enough that we had "The Old Spaghetti Factory previously located in the old downtown district it had all the old time deco ambience which served the better than usual Clam Spaghetti, with that as a comparison, tonite I brought home a Family Meal from "Pastabilities" off South Main & Acacia St. in Salinas & it was "Off the Chain Good" hence the the Old Spaghetti Factory reference. I know I'm not alone when we taste something that transports us back to something flavorable from our pleasant past we feel the need to share it so others have the opportunity to feel the same. Others who know me say I have the ability to drive them to salivating hunger from the way I describe my take on the food I cook or the foods I'm talking about. Absolutely love this gem. I am new to the area (work location has changed due to COVID) and while looking for a place to lunch pasta just sounded yummy. This place popped up in my search and I'm so happy it did! I've been 3x now! Absolutely love it. Once I was late picking up and then drove 30 mins home and it was still hot and didn't need re-heating when I got home and was ready to eat! I mean come on! And they're generous portions. Great food but the people working inside the place are a hot mess! Not the cooks the cook remembered making my order but the girl at the front didn't remember getting it. This is because I watched her give my order away to the wrong person. After that she continued to frantically run around blaming everyone but herself for the mistake. Ordered a family meal this evening for the first time. The fettuccine with blackened chicken was delicious, as well as the garlic bread. There was enough food to feed my family of five, plus leftovers for tomorrow. Customer service was great and my food was nice and hot when I picked it up. Tonight, we decided to give Pastability's a try based on a friend's recommendation. The service was good. The food, on the other hand, was one of the worse meals, my wife and I can remember. We ordered the idividual specials. She had a shrimp dish with a very bland white sauce. Also, the meal was served with a disproportionate amount of shrimp. A terrible dish from conceptualization to execution. I ordered the spaghetti special, which had a below average red sauce and enough garlic to ensure that I could taste garlic for the coming weeks. We were extremely disappointed with our dining experience. In addition, we were surprised that a Gino's family restaurant had such poor standards in quality. read more

Service here is geat! Stafff is friendly, service was fast and the pasta is delicious. It's nice to have a new place to choose from for quick take out. It's faster than if you order from Gino's and it's the same pasta. A bit pricey for pasta but I don't mind paying a little extra for quality food. read more

We've had take out from here twice. The first time, our pastas were overcooked. My husband got the white sauce with added shrimp. We were both impressed the with the Amoy t of shrimp he got. I had an underwhelming red sauce (napalitano maybe?) The second time, our pastas were cooked perfectly. I had the pink sauce, which was delicious. My husband had the white sauce again. It was delicious both times. I'm glad we gave it a second chance, definitely worth it this time around. read more

Not a bad concept. You pick a pasta, you pick a sauce, then you select add-ins such as veggies and meat. Kind of like the pizza method applied to pasta. The employees were super helpful and nice and the food comes out in less than 10 minutes. Decent sauce and flavors. BUT, two main drawbacks: the pasta is overcooked and definitely NOT al dente. This is likely because the pasta is precooked (to save time). So its kind of mushy. The other drawback-it is not cheap. Pretty pricey for fast-food pasta. 3 stars at best. read more

I had to update my review. I went here almost 2 years later, and the food was so much better. I got the blackened chicken fettuccine, and the fettuccine was on point. The noodles were cooked perfectly and there was a perfect amount of sauce and chicken. A lot of places have gone downhill because of covid, but the food here was great. The " trap" I got caught in was the Toppings, each at ,$3 apiece, which was outrageous fir a few pieces of vegs ,come on , the serving container is barely enough to hold the pasta and sauce ! I always drive by this place and finally remembered to stop for lunch. The staff was very nice and helpful. The food not so much. I tried the Miracle noodle, which is very slimy, with the Napolitano sauce and meat sauce with broccoli and sundried tomatoes. it was so hard first of all to get to my miracle noodles. And then it was EXTREMELY salty. I was very disappointed. I thought maybe I should mix it up so I grabbed a plate from our break room and tried to mix it up but it was just way too salty. Luckily I got a slice of garlic bread. BUt the place gets 2 stars for cleanliness and service. read more

Decided to finally give Pastability a try today since I'm in the area for the weekend. It's a small, grab and go place with a pretty unique concept of building your own pasta bowl. My sister tried out the Pastability Cajun Special that came with a slice of garlic bread and I custom built my pasta bowl (penne pasta, basil pesto sauce with mushrooms and blackened chicken (cajun spiced)). Pricing was fairly reasonable, but varies on the customization. Food was made hot and fresh and it was pretty good. Their sauce wasn't over poured and had the right amount of consistency that didn't felt heavy consuming it with the pasta. Their individual portion is more than enough that I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. All of the staff were attentive and helpful for my first visit there. The only drawback I have is that it is a grab and go place with no seating to eat. Other than that, it's a high pastability we will be back again! read more

So happy to have an Italian restaurant right down the street from me that is absolutely delicious! I ordered three meals and a family cheesy bread last night and it took about 10 minutes to be ready. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted like authentic Italian (I come from an Italian home). The service was perfect, the cashier was very friendly and the man who gave me my order when it was ready offered to help me bring it out to my car because my hands were so full.
