I forgot to do a check-in on Yelp because of the great time we were having here and we had another great meal at one of our favorite restaurants. And it was made even more special because we had two of our granddaughters Jessica and Katelynn along with Katelynn's special friend, Sean Sweeney and our son David, Jr. join with us. We hadn't seen Jessica and Katelynn in quite while and it was the first time meeting Sean. We appreciated the opportunity to spend several hours with them in this inviting surrounding. Even though they wee born here in Greensboro they have lived in the Philadelphia area for a number of years and had never been to this restaurant.
We arrived about 6:35 pm on Monday evening, March 20th to get prepared to have tables by the time the others arrived about 7:00 pm, and for a Monday night were surprised that every table was taken. Since we were going to be a party of six, and there were already two big groups seated, we were told it would be a short wait, which was not a problem since our group was not expected for a while yet. Within 10 minutes several tables opened up and they jumped on them and had them setup for the six of us so that we were seated by 6:45 pm, well before the others arrived and it gave us time to look over the specials board and the menu. Our server Kori was there right away to get our drink order and have it back to us quickly.
When the others arrived they were promptly brought to the table, and once again Kori was there to take drink orders. When she brought them we did order an appetizer of the Calamari, an item I don't eat many places but always here when I have someone to share it with, Mary won't do this. Kori then gave us time to look over the menu while we snacked on the Calamari. When everyone was ready she took the orders and in spite of being busy the kitchen did a good job of getting the salads out very quickly and the entrees out at the right time. This proper spacing of the delivery of the course normally happens here, a sign of good training and coordination. My only concern was that even though the crowd was thinning out, our server was very slow in replenishing the drinks. We were having such a good conversation though I couldn't tell you why she didn't refill them, but I know she didn't as my glass was down to ice cubes at least twice.
Obviously everyone enjoyed their dinners because there was not much left on the plates. And only a small doggy bag.
And then came the hardest decision, we were all so full everyone declined dessert. That is a real downer with the quality of desserts served here. It was a great and enjoyable evening and we appreciated the atmosphere that allowed us to relax and talk as we caught up. And of course the owner came over to make sure everything was going well. So many things t like about this place. read more
