Now we have been coming here before and we have never been told welcome back or anything along the sorts. AIDEN went above and beyond to assist us and answer our silly questions about the products. Thank you for that AIDEN. After we waited in line for a couple mins. AIDEN opened up a register as he saw the lines were growing and assisted us for check out. Now here's why I am writing this. AIDEN remembered us from our previous visit which was a few weeks prior when the England/Mexico World Cup game was on. I was super impressed as that made our day. The kindness of soul to help us out and w a smile and engaging in a healthy conversation made our last min shopping experience one to rave about. I'd rate the Peruvian Steak an 8.5/10. The bread was perfectly toasted, the mustard added just the right amount of kick, and all of the flavors complemented each other well. It would have been a perfect 10/10 if one side of the bottom bun hadn't been completely soggy from the mustard spilling out of the sandwich. I ordered my sandwich to go, so if I had waited until I got home to eat it, I think the entire bottom of the sandwich would have been soggy. That was disappointing. For to-go orders, I think Mendocino Farms should automatically serve the mustard in a separate sauce container to help prevent this issue. My other qualm was with the pickup process. When I received the text that my order was ready, it read: "Your order at Mendocino Farms - 10 - UC Irvine is ready for pickup. Please proceed to the counter." Some restaurants have signs explaining whether customers should grab their to-go orders themselves or wait for a team member to assist them. I waited patiently at the counter for several minutes while a team member saw me standing there but didn't acknowledge me. After about five minutes, I finally asked, "Can I grab my order?" But in the main lobby where the photo booth was it was pretty toasty the entire night unfortunately. I suggested to the bride and groom to get some sort of refund. Dont know if they did. But they did throw in some electric fans. Which were near useless as it was just blowing hot humid air around. I believe they threw in a photo booth which was cool. And they included some pyrotechnics in the first dance which was really cool. They have a nice large grassy outside area, where I guess wedding ceremonies can take place. They have a separate room for cocktail hour, which they close off before and after cocktail hour. The main reception room was nice and large. I love the windows overlooking the outside. Plenty of parking here. And they have a huge sign closing off that parking lot to thr wedding venue, so its only exclusively used by the guests. Seems as though they only have 1 bathroom in the entire building for the guests. I love how the bridal suite was off to the side. So theres basically 4 main areas to this place. The entryway.
