The sauce was delicious and the dish overall was wonderful. My wife chose a chicken scampi. I had never heard of chicken scampi, but it too was delicious. We ordered the appetizer Lasagna Frittata, and although it came between the soups and the entrée, it served as a good side. It was absolutely delicious. One side was Italian meat saucy - the other creamy and cheesy. It could have made an entrée by itself. Our soups were good, the breadsticks were just as good as ever - fresh and warm, and the handful of chocolate mince that Alec brought over as we finished made a nice after dinner minty moment. I'm sorry I forgot to take pictures of our meals, but I did get some of the Calabrian items pictured on a table card. Hope that helps. The service from our waiter,, Alec, was tremendous. Parking is street-only, so on busy days you may need to park a bit farther and walk. Ordering is counter service, then you grab a seat and wait for your food. The place was clean and well maintained. Overall, a solid spot for lunch.

A deli sandwich is only as good as it's bread and their bread is amazing! Soft, but chewy and dense enough to hold up with all of the dressings and sauces added on. Not sure if they make the bread in house, but it's great! This is a full on deli/grocery. You can get deli meats and cheese fresh cut and bagged for your home. They also sell tons of of imported goods like olive oil, canned sauce, and marinades. The staff is friendly and you can eat your sando on their front patio or take it go!

So, massive points there. What was not a massive point, however, was the subterranean seating situation. We were escorted downstairs into the basement, which was pitch black. But more importantly: the stairs are completely unlit. I'm sorry, but they are actively asking to get sued. It is a litigious nightmare waiting to happen. Someone is going to take one wrong step in the dark, tumble down that staircase, and own the entire restaurant by next Tuesday. They are practically begging for a lawsuit. Anyways, with regards to the food, my partner and I got some spicy baked mussels to share, with a ribeye steak and lamb chops for entrees. The mussels were pretty underwhelming - I felt that it was just spicy for the sake of being spicy and didn't offer much in terms of flavor. With the entrees, we asked for the lamb chops to be cooked medium but they came rare, whereas the steak did come in medium rare as ordered. The lamb chops were okay but the steak was extremely salty and a bit too charred; I had to wash down my bites with water. With both entrees we were given a choice of either rice pilaf or garlic baked potatoes. The rice pilaf legit tasted like elementary school lunch rice (the ones with the teriyaki meat patties if you recall the 2000s, iykyk). The potatoes were alright, not bad but not great. Also wanted to note that both dishes came with like 2-3 tiny cherry tomatoes which is barely anything and would last you at most a couple of bites. Last thing I wanted to note is pricing. The lamb chops were in the upper $30s and the steak was $59, which pretty overpriced imo for whay is presented. Of course, that's also on me for trying to go for a "16 oz" steak (which I kinda doubt it was) vs. their pastas or other popular dishes but I think it's worth pointing out. All in all, I really think you can get much better bang for your buck at other semi-fancy/fancy places such as LimeLite or Willow Osteria to name a couple of examples. I would give this a 1 but the service was admittedly quite solid. Sadly, I don't think we'll come back.
