Pasta with Ragu à la Genovesi
    Laurie B.

It's very unassuming from the street. They have nine different types of pasta and then you get to pick your sauce and then they deliver it hot and fresh to your table. You can even watch them cook it. This is a hidden gem and I'm a food foodie snob.

Could this place be a tourist trap? Sure maybe. Did it seem like almost everyone here was not a local? Again, perhaps. Does it matter? NO! NO! NO! I'm here to tell you we had the best time here for our last night in Milan! The pasta itself was very good. It had the right bite, the right chew. The sauces were all very good. We tried a few different ones are were not disappointed. The pastas might change based on the day you go, but you can't really go wrong. Also the service was very good. We didn't have a reservation and we still got seated right away. They were very attentive and made sure we had a great experience.

we had to wait a bit for a table because it was quite busy but it definitely was worth it. i ordered the fettuccine alfredo which was so fresh and creamy and i would for sure order it again. we also started with the caprese which was a very good idea. lastly we got the tiramisu which i've heard all over tik tok they are famous for and it's delicious and they were right because i didn't even get a photo because it was devoured so fast. i would for sure come here again when visiting milan.

Meal was fabulous, very friendly staff and it was a reasonable price! Would recommend, we had the Bruschetta and then pasta, so goooooodddd

Heard great things online, recommend by chatGPT and booked a reservation…read more Small place, friendly service, but time limit on the table, so if the service is a bit slow, you might be mid dessert and you're being asked to leave when the next party has arrived. Not a big deal, they let you know there is a time limit, but maybe they should keep the service flowing so that doesn't happen. The interior decorator here did a great job with the time warp back to the mid 20th century. Cool vibe. Food was ok. Perhaps using old recipes from the time period is not so good for a tourist? I wasn't really impressed with the food, but I don't have a cultural link to Milanese food to begin with, so I don't think I was fully able to appreciate it. If my grandmother made this when i was a kid, perhaps it would have been better, but the meal was lost on me. There are plenty of spots to grab a good meal, I'd only recommend this place if you have a fond memory of the menu items or you really want to time travel and post to social media.

Intro: After doing a bunch of sightseeing in Milan, we stopped by Riseolatte for dinner. While we…read moredidn't have a reservation, we were seated promptly upstairs (table for three). Ambiance (3.5/5): This Italian restaurant looks like your grandma's house. Lots of old school decor and it's the exact look they're going for. Homey, just like grandma's house. Seating is a bit tight and there's no A/C so things were a bit stuffy. Service (4.5/5): Our waitress was friendly and was pretty efficient in taking care of us. Service can be a bit of a miss in Europe but our experience at Riseolatte far exceeded the norm. Drinks (4.5/5): Good drink list. I ended up splitting some house wine with my buddy. They have it in different sizes and we went with the largest option of the house red. Food (3/5): I went with the osso bucco which is served with risotto (two of my favorite dishes in one). And part of what also made the dish so attractive is that risotto Milanese is a classic Milanese dish. Unfortunately, the dish didn't live up to the hype. Osso Bucco, done right is so tender that it falls off the bone. It's a slow cook type of meal and you can taste the results of that. Here, the meat was harder than it should have been, which indicates to me that they probably cut some corners. The risotto, on the other hand, was solid. As was the portion size. I was just expecting better with the osso bucco. My friends got the veal (elephant ears). Talk about a portion size. Three huge veal cutlets and fries. You can see why they call them elephant ears! I tried a bite and enjoyed it more than my dish. Overall: There's a lot to like about Risoelatte. Some dishes are a hit and some are a bit of a miss so make sure to choose wisely!

Service: minimal, but chef brought my pasta! - Gluttony Expedition - Lunch half & half ravioli: Lemon & saffron ravioli (yellow) was very light and gentle fragrance. spinach one was light and tasty. We were provided menus that were quite simple. Two types of pasta were available (long or short) and they were able to be prepared a few different ways. I had the long pasta which resembled Alfredo noodles with black pepper and parmesan cheese. The dish was simple and the pasta was fresh. They offer a short list of beer and wine to compliment the pasta. During my time there I saw many people attempting to get in but the place was full. Several parties waited to get a seat. The service was good, the food came out quick and was exactly what I needed before my reservation. The food was also inexpensive. I noticed a disclaimer when I exited that this location is "not a restaurant" but serves a sampling of a larger restaurant. 4.5 stars!

The people at Taglio offer a wide variety of specialty coffee from different origins and where one can select the method (V60, Aeropress etc). Execution is good but their own roast is good (don't get me wrong it totally beats anything else from Italy) but they also have coffee from other roasters. All together the coffee itself is a reason to visit but Taglio is so much more as they also serve excellent food. The pasta I had was a nice example of well-made uncomplicated food. They are also a deli so sell a lot of charcuteries and cheeses as well as other food items (tea, coffee, beverages, granola etc) The service was nice, friendly, mostly English speaking and fairly fast and they also have free wifi (however with mandatory facebook login) so a place I will visit again. Only minor drawback would be the price level - dinner easily came to €50 per head and while not super-expensive it is still a bit on the high side for more of a neighborhood place.
