First impressions, the signage fits the downtown well, and is visible enough that makes them easy to find in downtown Gustine. Seating area consists of 3 tables, and they've got one of those mini arcade games for the kiddos as well. Overall pretty small dining area but Gustine isn't a big city so didn'texpect a ton of seating. Menu is displayed on a couple of monitors in the wall as you come in. The pasta is cooked in an open kitchen right behind the counter as you order. Pretty neat to be able to watch them make your order. Ordered the Volcanic Fettuccine because who doesn't like a spicy Italian dish right? Got it in a bread bowl with added chicken so cost was just shy of 20 bucks because of the upgrades. Didn't end up eating on site because it was really close to closing time for them and didn't want to be "that guy" so took my order home. The fettuccine was really good, cooked well, and the sauce was actually spicy. Not as spicy as I was hoping it would be, but it did have a nice kick. I'd definitely have it again. Overall, nice family run place with home made pasta. Would have ordered a pizza, but they ran out of pizza dough, since it is house made they don't have any extra in the fridge/freezer like you'd expect at a lot of places. Oh my goodness. I have seen this place on other TikToks and decided to go visit. The restaurant is only open 5 hours Tuesday- Saturday and is quite small. I decided to try the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken in a bread bowl and hubby had volcanic fettuccine with chicken. The chicken and Alfredo were seasoned. Unlike other places where everything is so bland. I cannot recommend Pasta 209 enough. If you are ever in Gustine between 3-8, stop by and give it a try! It is yummy!!!! read more

The food wasn't great. Pasta was dry and over cooked. Pizza was really salty and had hardly any sauce. The service was horrible along with the ambiance. Club music was playing so loud we could hardly have a conversation. Tables were dirty. The girl behind the counter didn't have her hair pulled back so I was afraid I'd find a hair in my food. And it was so hot in the restaurant that you just didn't want to be in there a minute more. Horrible experience. This was my second time. Tried a few different dishes, Vodka Pasta with chicken, Margherita pizza, garlic butter spaghetti with shrimp with some Garlic knots. Stopped in for dinner while killing time before a game. I wish I had enough space in my appetite to try the pasta in a bread bowl, but I knew better. I settled on trying the volcanic fettuccine. In my head that meant I was ordering a spicy fettuccine Alfredo, when in fact the dish is a red sauce. (I just wasn't paying attention.) Red sauce doesn't typically thrill me, but I was not at all disappointed with this dish. While the shrimp was neither here nor there for me, I enjoyed the dish as a whole- especially the spice level. I also appreciate that before it was prepped he confirmed with me what level of spiciness I was looking for. (Medium proved to be perfect.) The pasta was also served with a sizable piece of focaccia that was happily used for wiping the sauce clean from my plate. The brussel sprouts at the table next to me smelled amazing, and some of the sandwiches looked appealing as well, so I'll be back to try some other items. We came in with a group of six adults, a toddler, and a baby, and even though they mostly do pickup orders, we were able to snag a table and enjoy our meal at the restaurant, which was a nice change. It was clear they were super busy, we almost missed the chance to order! but the staff was still really helpful and friendly, especially since it was our first time. The pasta is the best I've had in the valley, and the rose Italian soda was a great choice to go with it. The portions are huge, so you definitely get your money's worth. Terrible. Wish I could give zero stars. My husband and I have followed Pasta209 on Instagram for quite some time and we were very much looking forward to it. Stopped here on our way home from the beach and disappointed doesn't even cover it. The food was abysmal. My husband got the chicken parm and the only edible part was the chicken. Fried and decent. The sauce was salty and like straight tomato paste, the noodles were gummy. I got the chicken Alfredo, the chicken must have been frozen and reheated. It was hard as a rock and dry beyond. The sauce was watery and milk chunky w no taste. I wanted to ask for our money back but honestly it looked like they needed our business. I recently moved to Gustine and been wanting to try this spot for some time now. I decided to invite my gf for Valentines there and we were both excited. I reached out a few weeks before and they said there was no reservations. The co.pany even postee a special menu for V-day,So we decided to call the day of and was put on a waiting list for 2 hours. After 2 hours and upon showing up to the restaurant I was asked on what I wanted to order, as soon as I sat down tho and my gf arrived we went to place our order and the cook which I believe was the owner and a waiter nxt to him explaied to us that they had just ran out of bread and pasta that he had no more proteins on hand and that he only had enough ingredients to fulfill there current orders. That was a big waist of time and a mixture of emotions. Not only were we expecting to have a meal here since it was planned for weeks before but now I believe I might not ever try this spot in the future! Don't bother trying to get lunch anymore. They aren't open until 4pm and close at 8pm. Why even be in business when you don't want to be open? They are closed on Mondays and Sundays. The last time I ordered my food wasn't great. It went from being my favorite restaurant to least favorite. Wow! HAVE SOME SALT! Ordered spaghetti/meatballs, a spring salad and Garlic prawns. 1. Garlic prawns - Hard to peel and messy. Overcooked and hard. Always seems like a waste of seasoning if you have to peel it off. 2. Spaghetti/meatballs - LETS TALK ABOUT THIS! I've eaten Al dente pasta many times before and this was not it. This was extremely firm and gummy at the same time. (If that makes sense) The red sauce was overly acidic and lacked any trace of seasoning. Resembled a sauce made with tomatoes past their prime or had citric acid added. (Really rough on the taste buds.) Now for those meatballs........ If your blood pressure is on the high side you'll want to pass on these salt nuggets!! This had to be a kitchen accident with no time for a new batch and man let me tell ya, I coughed for 20 minutes after 1 bite! 3. Salad seemed edible but I'd already lost my appetite after the sodium attack. For me, this will be a forever pass and a waste of money. I don't know if the cook was mad or that no one has ever had decent Italian food before. The reviews for this place just don't add up. As far as the containers they serve your food in, be careful transporting it home because they are too shallow to be sufficient. Update to add: Ate the "large" salad the following day and it too was lacking hugely on what it takes to qualify as a $12.99 salad. A handful of spring mix, 3 tiny pieces of tomato, 1 slice of cucumber cut in half and 2 slivers of onion that must have fallen from a slice. I'm not sure who had a worse experience in their day! We recently visited Pasta 209 for dinner and had great service. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. Clearly anyone who thinks that the noodles are undercooked has never had fresh pasta before. We had a tour of Italy and a pasta bread bowl with garlic shrimp pasta, and it was a lot of food. We were able to share with our 2 year old and take leftovers home. The highlight of the tour of Italy in my opinion was the chicken parmigiana. The chicken was perfectly cooked; not dry, perfect breading and very flavorful. Bread bowl, bread was absolutely delicious and fresh. This bread is clearly baked daily. Sadly, we didn't have dessert on this trip, but I am personally looking forward to trying their tiramisu. read more

OMG.....omg.... So I decided to pick up dinner tonight from Pasta 209 in Gustine. I have never really been there so I got lots of items, but re reheated the chicken fettuccine with garlic bread. Wow!!! It was absolutely delicious. I hadn't eaten all day, so by the time I ate dinner; I couldn't even finish my pasta because I kept eating the bread. The bread is delicious by itself. Even better with sauce. The food had so much flavor; I would've sworn someone's old Sicilian grandma was in that kitchen making my dinner.
