I'm on a pasta high right now. The last time I remember having pasta where I felt it's another level was during a trip to Venice. Who knew fresh pasta was so different from the dried, boxed ones. ‍ We got one pound (2 bags) of pappardelle and one pound of spinach (linguine?). They're $5.95 per lb. The one pound of pappardelle was actually enough for our lunch (2 adults, a 7 year old and a toddler). Boiled it and then tossed with some butter and a bit of marinara then topped with Parmesan. So good, we're planning to grab some more tomorrow to take home. Oh! The two gentlemen at the store were very friendly and helpful.

Spinach ravioli (top) and spaghetti (bottom). Even had leftovers for lunch next day after feeding dinner for 4 adults and 2 kids. :)

So glad I found out about this spot on Yelp! We located it easily just past the Tree House Cafe and luckily had cash on hand just for this. We love bringing home treats from Carmel to keep our vacation indulgence going. ;) We were greeted by a very nice man that went over the pasta options. We opted for spaghetti so our kids could also enjoy. We bought the accompanying marinara and so glad we did because it is far better than any store bought, and completed the special meal. The staff makes the cooking experience so easy by writing strait on the package how long to boil each one. We also purchased the green 4 cheese spinach ravioli. This was amazing!!! It was a great treat for my in-laws as well because we cooked for them, and it did not disappoint. The homemade quality is very apparent because it tastes much softer than the store bought items. We will be stopping by every trip out of Carmel from now on. Thank you Pasta Palate for providing such an affordable, easy, delicious culinary experience for home.

What a find! The owner is such a kind man. The pasta is fantastic. If I lived closer I would buy pasta here weekly!

The man that works here is so rude! The raviolis are nothing to write home about. Being polite would be a great start!

The pasta is excellent and the pesto is the best I've ever had. Seafood raviolis and the mushroom are my favorites

Great fresh pasta at a reasonable price. It's cash only. They also sell pasta sauces and raviolis, which I have not yet tried.

My friend and I made a dinner reservation a couple weeks in advance, and it wasn't too crowded on Mother's Day weekend! Rucolina ($18): Salad to share, perfect amount for 2. Arugula, beets, Gorgonzola, candied walnuts are a classic combo and we polished it. Linguine Alla Pescatora ($45): I thought it was so funny two girls next to us ordered this to share, but my friend ate it all by herself LOL. A huge dish of seafood, they don't skimp! I tried a mussel and the sauce was excellent. Gnocchi (small $22, large $44): I was hesitant about ordering gnocchi because I never like the gnocchi I've ordered at other Italian restaurants. Never thought me a gnocchi snob, but here I am. But other reviews raved about Il Tegamino's gnocchi (our waitress included) so I did it. Ok fine it's the best gnocchi I've ever had. Pillowy soft, straight out of the oven, still sizzling and bubbling when it was placed in front of me. It was cheesy and potatoey without either flavor overpowering the other, and the mushroom truffle sauce is IT. It needs the sauce. I ordered the large and had leftovers to share with my mom, but you bet I could've finished it. I would come back just for this! We picked this place expecting it to be a treat and a bit of a splurge, so we expected the prices. Our server was lovely; my friend loves sweeter white wines but a Moscato wasn't on the menu. She disappeared into the kitchen and came back out with a heavy pour of Moscato and my friend loved it! I first thought it was bold of her to assume she'd want the full glass but she was right :)

For starters, we had an appetizer truffle gnocchi, which was wonderful and a dish of olives with feta cheese, which was very good but missing something like bread or crackers. For a salad, we ordered two Piemontese (romaine) salads to split for three people. The quantity was good, but the lettuce was still defrosting, tasted a little frozen and was watery without flavor or crispiness romaine usually provides. When paying $40 for the two salads, I would usually expect fressher lettuce. For dinner, we had an order of Linguine Alla Pescatora (a seafood pasta with shrimp, scallops, mussles and clams), which contained good pasta noodles and seafood, but did not contain enough pasta and used a red sauce that I was not a fan of. A light white sauce or olive oil/white wine sauce would have been better combination. We also had an order of the Paccheri Al Ragu Napoletano (meat pasta, with large noodles, short rib and pork sausage). The pasta itself seemed good and was cooked well, the meat seemed to be cooked well, but the red sauce lacked flavor and the dish was overall underwhelming. For dessert, we had a tiramisu, which was a variation of the traditional recipe that included some chocolate and not really a tiramisu, but still tasted good. We also had a desert that included ice cream, biscotti and whipped cream with a shot of espresso over it. While it could have used some more ice cream, overall it was still very good; largely due to the fresh whipped cream. (Both deserts could have been a little bigger, even if it meant a bigger price tag.) Our server and busser were very attentive and friendly. The appetizers, deserts, service and outside ambiance saved the experience, but the barely edible salads and the boring entrees were not enough to make me want to revisit again.

Gusto is one of the few truly scratch-made Italian restaurants that specializes not only in pizza, pasta, and sauces, but also features an old-school brick, wood-fired pizza oven. Hell, they even make their own mozzarella! They have not only caught the eye of locals and Yelpers, but have also managed to earn a recommendation in the current Michelin Guide. The Good: * Private parking lot, as well as street parking. * Fabulous service from Alex! * Prices are very reasonable considering the food quality. * Local beers on tap. * Strawberry Prosciutto Salad (seasonal special) was fantastic! Who knew strawberries paired so perfectly with salty, cured prosciutto and pistachios? This might not be on the menu all the time, but if you see it, get it! * Complimentary focaccia was unbelievably soft and delicious. As if it couldn't get any better, their olive tapenade served alongside it was equally delicious, making for an unbeatable duo. * The Margherita pizza is the ultimate test of a pizza restaurant--and they passed with flying colors! It's so simple that if something isn't right, it'll be easy to spot, but everything from the homemade mozz to the slightly charred crust and the delicious sauce made this the perfect pie. I give it a score of 3.14159265359...! The Meh: * Meatballs were a touch too tough and could've been a bit more tender. They were still fuçking delicious, so honestly, who cares? The Ugly: * Despite the name, Seaside isn't the most glorious place, and this location is downright sus AF. Conclusion: Maybe one of the best meals so far of 2026. If you have any doubts about coming here, relieve yourself of them and get down here posthaste.
