We were in Carmel so stopped by in Seaside to pick up a stash for the holidays. We had been here before and had to come back. Raviolis are fantastic. Cooks in 3 minutes and come out perfect. Lots of different stuffing including Short Ribs, Spinach and mushrooms and more. They have pasta as well but we held off. Not cheap but the quality is top notch. Owner is Italian so we chatted it up a bit. My Mother's family ties are from same region as him. Nice guy. Going back when we head back to the Monterey Peninsula. read more

This place is a completely hidden gem in Sand City. They sell all kinds of ready-to-cook pastas, sauces breads and desserts. The ravioli and lasagna are all absolutely amazing. I've had all of the different varieties and all of them I would order again. The braised rib ravioli is probably my favorite. The brown butter sauce is also amazing. I grabbed some fresh pasta from this place on Thursday for dinner on Saturday. The pasta came out absolutely perfectly! There were six different ravioli flavors to choose from, multiple sauces, etc. I ended up trying three different ravioli and all of them were excellent. The squash was my wife's favorite. I enjoyed all three. The bolonaise sauce was particularly good. I am planning to return next week to try the lasagna. read more

As advertised, and mentioned above, Bigoli Pasta is excellent. Though I have my sauces "dialed", I'm no pasta maker, but Bigoli certainly is. Their fresh noodles are delicious, and really add a nice creamy texture. Plus they freeze, and keep, extremely well. Strongly suggest that you give them a try. Love this place!! I keep our freezer stocked with the butternut squash ravioli, veal cannaloni, vegetable lasagne for 2 (which serves 3 of us), meat lasagne for 2 and one big lasagne which serves 10. Also the sage brown butter sauce I use on everything beyond pasta, like chicken and prawns. The pasta is so very tender your guests will roll their eyes with the first bite. Today I picked up the Lobster ravioli "box meal for 2" with saffron sauce. Before you finish your order of pasta, grab some Italian cookies that are home made. I have a family member who cannot eat dairy so we purchased the roasted vegetable ravioli in beet pasta. No cheese whatsoever. The ravioli blew everyone away. So delicious. Chef Michele was very helpful in putting together a menu for a dinner I was hosting for 50 persons. I came to pick up my order the day before the event ( the pasta and ravioli were frozen and were to be kept this way until preparation) and he gave me directions for the preparation. The pasta was very easy to prepare and the most popular included the short rib ravioli as well as the kale and mushroom ravioli. Everyone raved about the sauces too! Heard the pasta here was excellent from some locals while I was in town for a week. Ended up stopping by before leaving Monterey. It's open to the public from Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Once you get here, you walk up to the door and press the button/bell outside for them to open the door for you to come in. I ended up buying 2 spinach and ricotta and one caprese tomato and mozzarella with 2 orders of the Bolognese sauce since they ran out of tomato for $49. The sauces come frozen in a container which is plenty for the pasta I ordered. It didn't really take too long for them to give me my full order. Note that it's a cash only spot. The owner Michele is really nice, and gave me great instructions on how to cook them. He knew I was driving back to SoCal so advised me to get some dry ice for the drive from a grocery store nearby and gave me a styrofoam box to keep the pasta fresh. Such a large variety of pastas, raviolis, gnocchis, trays of lasagna, cannelloni, plus sauces are made at the warehouse for many local restaurants and the owner has portions available to the general public. Bring your cash and a big shopping bag! Park your car, go ring the doorbell, and be prepared to make your choices for your take- home order. Directions for cooking the pasta are available. We have shopped there twice and will return soon. Everything is good as we especially love the assorted flavors of gnocchis to prepare at home so easily. read more

Not sure if you can purchase these fine handmade strands of organic pasta directly from this Sand City pasta making kitchen but you can find the lovely work of Chef Michele Cremonese at local fine dining establishments and most recently he was found selling his goods at Sand City's monthly attraction the Independent Marketplace. I was fortunate enough to try some of his gluten free work. Gluten Free Pasta is a very tricky since it doesn't contain gluten which is responsible for binding the dough together and giving it that stretchy feel (you'd be surprised at how many folks in the restaurant industry still do not know what gluten is). The pasta was easy to cook and held it's own meaning it didn't break while I was handling it and it had a nice bite to it once I prepared and tossed it in some homemade locally foraged porcini marinara. I have picked up fresh gluten free pasta from another local company and by the time I dropped it into boiling water the strands had broken into 1-2 inch pieces... this one did not. I would definitely recommend Chef Michele's gluten free fresh organic pasta to anyone one a gluten free diet by choice or not. Chef Michele recently sold his fabulous hot spot Basil in Carmel by the Sea and is focusing on lovely delicious pasta creations. read more

I purchased a pan of lasagne from Bigoli to serve at a dinner party last weekend, and it was sensational. Michele gave me instructions on how to thaw it and bake it. We baked it a bit longer than called for, and it was really excellent. Topped it with some finely chopped basil and grated parmesan, and it was a big hit.
