Wow, that was fun! Discovered this place via Facebook. Drove 140 miles from Columbus and it was so worth it. For$20 each my wife and I played anything and everything for 4 hours and took a short break in their retro themed dinor. The food was good and affordable. HO. LEE. SHE. IT. It took me a while to get here, but I've just been to the best arcade in Ohio. Past Times Arcade is absolutely fantastic. Maybe, just maybe, it's the best arcade that I've been to in the last 40 years! PTA has the largest "open to the public" selection of pinball machines that I've ever seen...this includes the Pinball Hall of Fame in Vegas and both of the big venues in Pittsburgh. There might be occasional pinball expos, and private collections, where more games are on display...but these are usually not open year round. Rare and cool AF games are everywhere! There are tables from 5, maybe 6, continents! Tables from "every" era in pinball history are represented, IN LARGE NUMBERS, at PTA! And critically, almost all of the games are playable AND are in GREAT CONDITION! I'm not sure how the owner and his team keep this many tables in such good condition, but somehow, it is the case. How about video games? You bet! PTA has over 200 of these. Selection? Lots of rare games and almost all the blockbusters as well. Are they in good condition? Yep. Less than 5 were not operational. Not a single game (that I played) had an issue with the controls or the screen. Amazing. Also cool: There is a fair number (50ish?) of pre-transistor electromechanical games. Many of these were operational, but many, (such a Sega's Periscope) were, unfortunately, not up and running. Still though, it was nostalgic and (maybe even a little) heart warming to see them again. The games are set on "Free Play;" you pay 20 bucks to play all day. You get a wrist band and you can come and go as you please. If you're a kid, it's cheaper. If you're a veteran or a first responder, it's cheaper. Food? Yes. I admit that I didn't eat anything, but the kitchen and diner area sure smelled good! It was also amazing how clean PTA was, even the crapper was spotless. Booze? Yes. I didn't drink but the selection of canned adult beverages looked pretty extensive. Bottom line: I've been to some of the biggest and best arcades (and coin op museums) in the country. Past Times Arcade just might be the best. No shit. 5 Stars. read more

We got to talk to the arcade machines owner's wife. She said all of the machines in this building are his collection that he's been collecting for over 50 years. This place is so fun and so interesting with a very nostalgic vibe. There are lots of interesting arcade history facts posted on the machines, the floor and all around the building along with retro signs and a cute little retro themed restaurant there too. Everyone was raving about the handmade milkshakes they sell there. We didn't get one but they looked great. Our chicken tenders and fries were delicious. read more

Came here for the afternoon with my family and had an absolutely amazing time. There is a game for everyone you know in this place - There are SO many!! One price for all day play, which you can't beat anywhere else! Only about an hour from both Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Cafe inside with some fried food items, sodas, beer, and soda floats. Just made our maiden voyage to Past Times. This has to be coolest thing in Youngstown! An amazing place to lose hours of your life! Upon waiting to purchase our admission, the owner's wife chatted us up. She was so welcoming and friendly. She explained how the place came to be and said to flag her down with any questions. The wrist band is good for all day. You can leave and come back to play more. All the machines are set to free play. They have ancient mechanical arcade games, vintage pinball, classic 80's arcade games and newer digital pinball games as well. The place was so clean I'd eat off of the floor! They do have a nice concessions area selling basic concession food as well as some delicious, soft homemade cookies. They sell locally made & bottled soda's. This is my Happy Place! read more

Wow... Past Times Arcade is one of the greatest places I've ever been. If you're a fan of pinball and retro video games, then this is the place for you. The amount of games they have is insane. It would probably take you days to play each one. They also have a food court which serves up great milkshakes, hotdogs, and some cold beer. Overall, amazing place. Can't recommend enough. 5 stars before it opened (for effort and staffing) and 4 stars when I visited last month. Great place, wonderful visual, millions spent on this place, sadly reality sets in and no mechanics. Its sadly like opening a top notch and high quality dealership and nobody to work on them. Many games down. Please, I beg ya, go and pay them money, and if you know how to work on EMs or SS/modern volunteer or work for Rob. This place, his collection, dedication, nothing like it on the planet at all but maybe Clay, and at best lower level is Tim. These guys do the work, the nuts and bolts, and have amazing collections. This collection is a lot of add a ball, and modern. If you want credit EMs go to the west or out of gambling restricted areas. I have a complete photo/video of the entire walkthrough, about 1/3 of the games were either off, or when used didn't work quite right. That is sad to see, volunteer, donate time, visit for a few days, get to know them games and staff, and make this place special again like it was the day it opened. read more

This place is amazing - they have one of the best pinball collections available to the public, if not THE best. Rare machines from all over the world as well as the latest and greatest. Some of the rare games you can see and play only here include Mexico 1986, Punky Willy, The Empire Strikes Back and the amazing Surfing from Sega! The milk shakes are also top notch and they have a great collection of video games as well. The men have one urinal & one toilet!! The women have one toilet!!! For the amount of people at this establishment, this is not acceptable!! Staff is friendly & helpful!! I heard about this arcade when visiting in the area. The arcade is located in a large building that was formerly a grocery store. They have hundreds of pinball and arcade video games spanning several decades. The machines are set for free play. Patrons can play any game after paying the entry fee. The fee for the day was $20. They have plans for various periods and lifetime. They can accommodate parties and events. There's a snack bar. I spent about three hours playing various games. The pinball machines range from primitive to sophisticated. The older ones are electro-mechanical. Some of the video games are primitive with very limited video graphics. There is a list of the pinball and video games on their website. On the negative side, a number of the games had problems. Some just were not working or had problems (broken flipper, guns did not fire). I had a good time and would visit on future visits to the area. read more

After waiting to visit after their grand opening almost a yr ago, (I live in Nevada) I couldn't wait to arrive in town and visit Past Times, and after entering and paying a very reasonable $20 to play (it's pay one price and all the games are free) I was blown away with the current lineup of just under 400 pinballs to play. Needless to say,I also went to next 2 days and had a blast! Boy,if I only lived nearby,I would consider buying an annual pass for $300! I already have plans on returning next May,when I take my annual Eastern pinball trip for 2 weeks. My only disappointment is that their snack bar only offered hot dogs,no pizza or nachos! Can't wait to go back!!! read more

If you are a pinball fan this place is for you. If you are not a pinball fan you will become one. As a pinball fan, it is the little touches that may go unnoticed by some like having info about the machine posted on it or cup holders on the side. Every machine is kept clean and neat. we drove nine hours to come play here. worth the trip. I have been to arcades that have more games. I have not found anyone with more pin. If you love pinball this is the place you want to be. most of the collection is made up of older . But, there are enough modern games to keep you busy. Quite a few stern connected. i Highly recommend spending some money in the cafe, and buying a tee shirt to help support this new arcade.
