Grew up going to this fair and bring my family now! One of the best anywhere I have ever been. So much to see, do and eat!

The Canfield Fair is Ohio's largest County Fair! It takes place each year starting five days before and leading up to Labor Day. There's lots of food vendors, plus amusement park style rides, and lots of farm animals to see. ( You can even try your hand at milking a cow!) there are horse races, weiner-dog races. There are model trains set-up, Boy Scout campground, Arts and Crafts, antique tractors and farm equipment, and the biggest pumpkin in the county! (This Year it is as close to 1,600 pounds!). Lots of families lies go every year and wouldn't miss it.

Childhood memories of Potato Patch fries, going through Noah's Ark, riding the Turtle and the Kangaroo... those are still there!! Plenty of legendary rides that have existed for 100+ years with the Jack Rabbit, the Racers, and the Whip!! Thrill is next level with the Steel Curtain, the Phantoms Revenge, the Exterminator, and the Thunderbolt!! Kennywood blends together a perfect mix of rides for everyone in the family. Plus they have done well with keeping up with technology and convenience. Their website has wait times kept up to date to allow you to navigate the park without waiting as much, the rides have convenient storage to allow you to carry around that big stuffed animal win, and the park itself is constantly updated and cared for!! Pittsburgh is lucky to have Kennywood!

I wasn't able to ride it once this year. And I have waited in line over 3 times for it to just be shut down. Went yesterday and was disappointed. A lot of rides were closed due to getting ready for fall fest? But it's only Aug 12th. We love fall fest, but wanted to go on the ragging rapids AT least once this year. Every time we went it was closed.

Having a waterpark in Pittsburgh is a privilege and great to have on hot summer days, but it seems…read moreas though the owners of the park take advantage of the fact that they are the only water park in the area. A day pass is $60. I know that's not the norm and most people buy a season pass, but there's nothing worth $60 there. The slides are fun, but we went on the 4th of July and the two yellow slides and the speed slide were closed. Also, the cocktail bar on the boardwalk was closed as well with some other food options not running either. There's not an abundance of rides, so when multiple are closed, you are disappointing your customers. Aesthetically, the park needs updated. Walking around and seeing areas with overgrown weeds and weeds coming up from under the boards just says "we don't care". The landscaping used to be pristine and now it's either just mulch or overgrown weeds. At the lazy river, the containers for shoes had some very gross mold or something all along the bottom, so we didn't put our shoes there. On some of the building walls by the lazy river, there was mold or something growing on them. Simple power washing can fix these things. People want to walk through and feel like you care about their experience. The "bar" had frozen drink machines that just didn't freeze all day and the worker even said "if you want something of a frozen consistency, you are not going to get it" and then continued selling watery non-frozen drinks from the machine and pouring some alcohol in. For $16 a drink, I passed. Sandcastle could be amazing, but the owners need to add new attractions, make sure rides and food stands are open for people and keep the area clean. It felt dirty in many places when we walked around. Lastly, whoever is in control of the music piping through the park needs a different job. The music was awful on repeat all day.

The wave pool is also a lot of fun and the perfect place to cool off on a hot summer day. The staff is always friendly and genuinely seems to enjoy working there, which makes the experience even better. If you plan on visiting more than once during the summer, I highly recommend getting a season pass. It's a great value since it can be used at both Sandcastle and Kennywood. Overall, Sandcastle is a fantastic place to spend a summer day with family and friends, and I highly recommend it!

I've never been there where we needed all that space (I can't imagine how long that wait would be). the entrance has automatic gates that open and close when the train is ready to be boarded. You put your belongings in the holder on the exit side and then get in the car. There are two restraint systems. One small standard seatbelt and one lap bar. The seats themselves are on the smaller side, but will still fit plus size riders. The ride itself is exhilarating. The climb up the first hill gives you great views of the park and area (I liked seeing the giraffe's head poking out of Noah's Ark). MAKE SURE TO NOT PULL OUT YOUR PHONE ON THE LIFT HILL. They are very clear and very serious about the rules and yet people still break them every day which makes the train stop on the lift hill. The one down side is that the exit is at a completely different area than the entrance, so make sure you know that if you are meeting non riders. A must ride if you love coasters.

We had a mix of boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 11, and it was amazing to see how every single one of them equally loved it! We were there in the winter and it felt like we practically had the place to ourselves. The variety of things to do kept everyone entertained--we went snow tubing, played a ton of games in the arcade, bumped cars (that even my 5 year old was tall enough to drive alone and she was absolutely thrilled!), rode the rides, and even had a blast dancing. The 'paintball' (the little gel beads) was such a hit with the kids, and we ended the day perfectly by roasting marshmallows by the fire. I was shocked at how inexpensive it was for our family of 4 to have 3 hours of uninterrupted nonstop fun! What really stood out was the atmosphere. You can tell that whoever runs this place truly cares about it. It's so well-maintained, and honestly, the bathrooms were incredibly clean!!!! This was a huge deal for us because we drove an hour and a half to get there--we needed a clean spot to change everyone into snow pants when we arrived and back into regular clothes before the long drive home. It made the whole trip so much smoother! Every single staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. A special shout-out to the lady working the concession stand--she gave each kid a different patterned cup so we could keep track of whose was whose! Little details like that really went a long way with me. You can tell the staff takes real pride in the guest experience. We had the best time ever and are already planning our next trip. We will definitely be back this winter, and we can't wait to come back in the summer! Highly recommend for families!

If you aren't going to ride, it is free. My boys ages 9 and 16, my nephew age 13, and my niece age 6 always have a blast. From 5-6, they do the water slides since they close at 6. From 6-8, they do everything else in the park. There is a mini roller coaster, bumper cars, go karts, the infamous tilt a whirl, mini golf, a batting cage, an arcade and so forth. For the price of $16, you can't beat it! We have local places back home and they cost more than $16 just to ride the go karts twice. Last summer, I wrote a review about the grounds not being handicap friendly because it was all gravel. Well to my surprise, they paved the grounds so now handicap individuals can also attend with family and friends. You don't have to wait in long lines like you would at a local city fest/carnival, state fair, or themed amusement park. No outside food or drink is allowed. There is a small concession stand that sells water, pop, pretzels, nachos, pizza, etc. The 2 vending machines located by the go karts are still out of order. Instead of buying a 65 cent can of pop from the machine you must pay $3.00 for a bottle at the concession stand. On my last visit in June, I mentioned the machines being out of order but they still are inoperable. I guess I will call the vendor myself because $3.00 for a bottle of water is ridiculous. The manager Christine is very friendly. She found my iPhone magnetic charger that I left at the entrance when purchasing wristbands. They have lockers for 50 cent where you can place your personal belongings. Overall, the kids had fun and it didn't break my pockets so that's all that matters. I don't know what people expect for such a minimal price! I guess you can't please everyone.
