He answered the called himself and showed first thing the next morning. Ryan spent time trouble shooting and diagnosing the issues. In 2025, we rented our trailer and upon arriving there were small gnats all over the bathroom (hundreds of flies) due to flying out of the toilet and they were clearly in the black tank. James refunded us part of our reservation fee and we moved on after bug bombing the bathroom. This year in July 2026 it got even worse!! We showed up to our already delivered trailer and there were ants EVERYWHERE. In the bunk beds, all over the bathroom and kitchen sink counter and it was disgusting. My husband and I spent hours wiping down the trailer with disinfectant thinking we got most of them and James denied knowing they were there. Unfortunately they were already in the pantry and got into our food that had to be thrown out. It got so bad that we left a night early and have not heard from James since regarding a partial refund. Renters beware!! The trailers are outdated, the couches are peeling and there are serious pest issues that need to be addressed. We wont be renting from them again.

Dan was up front about the minimum charge to meet and diagnose the problem and I thought it was very reasonable. We met at an agreed upon location later the same day and he quickly diagnosed the problem. The lithium batteries had apparently been drained after several days of dry camping. He provided invaluable information about our lithium batteries, our monitoring system and other related equipment. We were able to get our generator started which enabled charging of the batteries with our solar panels. He kindly stayed with us until we were underway. I appreciated Dan's professionalism and highly recommend Cal Coast RV if you ever need RV service.

From our first interaction with her when we called to say we were behind schedule in pick-up, she was very friendly and let us know we still had plenty of time to get there. Once there, she was very knowledgeable and thorough in giving the orientation and made us feel very comfortable before we drove away. Upon return, again, Katherine greeted us so friendly and seemed genuinely happy to see us again. As for the RV, my husband and I rented the 25' for a 9 day trip to the Grand Canyon. This was perfect size for us and our two small dogs. It was clean upon pick up, and everything functioned well. We brought disinfectant wipes before pick up, as we thought we'd have to wipe everything down, but it was so clean, we didn't feel the need. This was my husbands first time driving an RV, and while the first couple of hours took getting used to, by the second day, he drove it as comfortably as his own truck. Overall the whole experience from online booking, to onsite pick up and drop off was great. We'd definitely do it again!

Matt, the young man at the rental office, took his time to show me all the motorhome's features and made sure I understood how everything worked, For the money, I think a Cruise America motorhome is one of the best vacation deals out there. My only suggestion for improvement is that they be a bit more flexible with the return time, since having to return the motorhome by 12:00 cuts into precious vacation time. Overall, Cruise America in Nipomo has always exceeded my expectations and I will be coming back.
