That is what this jerk said. However, as it turns out it was the best advice we were given! We ended up saving 4K by "moving it ourselves". So, in the 11th hour SuperMan Chris came through with the following: A 20ft and 26ft truck and 2 auto transporters. This was the weekend. Normally, very difficult to attain due to high volume of rentals. However, he personally went to SLO to pick up an auto transporter. I went to Morro Bay to get the 26ft truck and to Los Osos to get the transporter. He had the 20ft truck in A-Town. He then hooked us up with "Michael" who helped us load the trucks. Michael was the hardest working man I have ever seen. I had to run to keep up with him. So, my wife drove the 20ft and I drove the 26ft with our autos in tow and we drove straight through to our destination in Oregon. We reached out to U-Haul in our town in Oregon and they hooked us up with a team of 2 guys who were able on short notice (1 day) unload both trucks in 4 hours. Using U-Haul for your next move is the ONLY way to go. I would never recommend using a moving company. They will rip you off big time. Thanks again Chris! You are the best. Bryan

We had a requirement for a 1-ton truck (not a 3/4-ton pick-up) to tow our fully-equipped and heavily-loaded Love Magical Donut Trailer from San Luis Obispo to San Francisco for National Donut Day (Friday, June 5, 2026). Nicholas quickly located a 1-ton truck with tow-package and assured us that the truck would be available for us on National Donut Day. We also had a parking-lot height-restriction of 6'8" --- Nicholas swiftly located the truck specifications and assured us that we would be able to park the truck at our San Francisco destination. When picking up the 1-ton truck, Roxy pleasantly greeted us with the stellar hospitality of a small Family-Run-Business stepping us through the contract and insurance options and then walking us around the truck to ensure we were familiar with the truck operation, diesel fuel system, and tow-package. Roxy also accommodated us for our delayed truck return and seamlessly extended our contract over the telephone. The towing capacity and performance of the 1-ton truck AND the Limitless Customer Hospitality that we experienced at Enterprise Truck Rental Santa Maria led us to rent a second 1-ton truck the following month. This time, Roxy secured us "Black-Beauty", a 1-ton Chevy 3500 Dually with extendable side-mirrors for towing our wide-trailer. At pick-up, Nicholas checked us in and got us out on the road to San Francisco within minutes, literally! Again, we had a requirement to extend our rental agreement, and, again, Roxy efficiently set us up for a second week of rental via a quick telephone call. Upon return of the truck, Roxy found our wallet and valuables in the back-seat and promptly returned them to us. We cannot Thank Roxy, Nicholas, and Team Enterprise Truck Rental Santa Maria enough for their AmaZingZingZing 1-ton towing trucks AND for their Unforgettable Hospitality! Go For The 1-Ton Trucks, Come Back For The Family-Run-Business Atmosphere (and candy in the ceramic toy Enterprise Truck on the check-in counter)! === = ===

We picked it up first thing Saturday morning, unsure if we would be able to meet our original deadline of a four-hour rental. Staff told us they were closed on Sundays, but for a small extra charge, we could return it Monday morning. Turned out the job we had was way bigger than we thought, and instead of a few hours of splitting, we ended up using the splitter for two solid days. The staff was helpful and friendly. They hooked the splitter up to our truck for us and also loaned us a hitch since ours was too big. They showed us how to operate the equipment, and when we returned the machine they unhitched it for us. I know these folks have gotten mixed reviews from other customers, but our experience was positive, and the staff was friendlier than other local equipment rental places we've used in the past.

In the store, I made a comment about store price being quoted is a much higher price then on their web page. Right away I was accused of not being able to read. At that point I left the store and went to Home Depot and paid what the web page listed. NEVER NEVER NEVER will I go back to Rental Depot. They ARE NOT TRAINED HOW TO TALK TO CUSTOMERS. Home Depot is further from my house, but at least I get treated as a Customer, not as some piece of crap .
