Poor, poor, poor business practices! Think twice before deciding to take your vehicle to this establishment!
My daughter had a little fender bender a couple of weeks ago and I was planning on taking the car to Dave's Auto Body, which had done a marvelous job in the past. Definitely wasn't planning to shop around. However, Insight that I was not going to go through any insurance carrier to get my car fixed a friend mentioned that they had, in the past, received an extremely competitive quote at the Hobby Shop. I was hesitant at first but a little extra cash in my pocket seemed extremely tempting and logical. I finally took the car to the shop on Monday per previous arrangements. At first there were no workers in sight but Armando, the owner, finally showed up out of nowhere. He immediately assured me that the car would be ready by Wednesday afternoon. That was music to my ears!
I came 15 minutes before 12 on Wednesday to pick the car up but Armando was not in sight. I waited for about 5 to 10 minutes at the office after which I decided to look around the back to see if could stumble into an employee. To my surprise I see Armando yelling at his employee in Spanish with a really harsh and threatening tone. After seeing me standing directly in front of the garage door he stopped and asked me how I could be helped. I told him I was there to pick up my car to which he immediately said he had told me it would be ready on Thursday not Wednesday. I could have sworn he said it would be ready by Wednesday but I agreed to come back the next day. He then proposed to call me the next morning and give me a report on the progress and a specific time to pick my car up. I waited and I waited and received no call that next morning. I called and left a voice message. Friday morning I decided to go back to the shop since they had not returned my call or even bothered to give me a call on Thursday whatsoever. Again Armando was quick to layout excuses after excuses as to why the vehicle was still not ready. At no point did I get an apology from him. In fact, It seemed like he was somehow trying to blame me for the extra work he had for the week. Finally I get a call around 4 that evening and I was told I could come and pick my car up. I Imdiatley rushed to shop as I was only given limited time before they closed. At this point I was not expecting total satisfaction due to my experience thus far. Nonetheless, after inspecting the vehicle I immediately notice a dent on the car from the accident. I showed Armando the dent only to be told he believed that was not part of the accident and thus had not included the dent on the initial quote. He told me it would cost extra to get the dent fixed. I immediately told him my disappointment in their services only to get Armando to literally roll his eyes at me.
I took the car to Dave's Auto Body the following Monday only to find out the degree of poor quality work done by Armando. Not only did the car still have a dent due to the accident but the color used on the body work of the car was incorrectly applied. They immediately offered to get my car fixed for a really reasonable amount.
Story short, extremely satisfied with the end results acquired at Dave's and extremely regretful of ever taking my car to Armando's Hobby Shop. read more
