Michael’s Upholstery - Outside. - Truck Rental Near Me - Atascadero, California

The owner is amazingly kind and after a delay with our day that set our whole schedule off he was so accommodating. Not only that the man then proceeded to rebook our UHaul rental which had been cancelled because we were late and saved the day. We use many different places but the for the services requested if I have any rental or upholstery needs I will be back here again! read more

Michael reupholstered 6 dining chairs for us. We bought them used and they looked like they still had the original (1980s?) fabric and seat cushions. Michael completely replaced strapping, cushions, and fabric. He was very helpful with our fabric selection and what a difference this all made! The chairs are now beautiful and comfortable. Michael has lots of fabric samples to choose from or you can supply your own. He is a masterful craftsman. We were so pleased with the dining chairs that we also had Michael restore the seat cushion on a beloved antique rocker. He noticed that the seat cushion was too thin for the frame and put a much thicker cushion on. He helped us find the perfect dark brown leather to complement the honey- colored oak. Seams were double-stitched and the look was finished with handsome aged brass studs. Wow, what a huge improvement in both comfort and appearance! Michael is the nicest person to work with. We couldn't be happier with the whole experience. I highly recommend this place. read more

I do not recommend doing business here as service was very poor, unprofessional and they did not fulfill there written agreement and follow thru with the contract. In addition, as we were standing in front of business, the owner would not come out to meet/ my wife and I. He would only talk on phone in which he could not here became frustrated and hung up on us, twice. Never seen such low level and unprofessional service. Good news I went down Quinn Rental on 1560 Rama's Drive 805-237-7700. There service was highly efficient, professional and friendly. Thank you for your response and I do I hope the best for your business. Yet as a person that has rented with U -Haul countless times, my information was on file and i provided and validated it on the phone call two hours before arriving. I do appreciate the two emails and invoice I received before arriving to your shop confirming the rental and my information, yet was disappointing when arriving, that no one was there, door was locked, and no one to be found anywhere as we walked around the shop. In addition, your comments about bleeps are hysterical and incorrect. In your right to refuse business to anyone, please, don't worry about that, many other businesses that are more then willing to Accept our continued local business. read more

I used Michael's for both moving supplies and upholstery. I gave him my grand mother and grandfather's chairs and paid 1/2 for both. It is now five years... I have spoken to him a few times during Covid, and understood it was a hard time for all of us. Now, I have repeatedly asked for him to simply give me my chairs back. He will not return my calls. It's heartbreaking as these are items money can not replace. He asked me to leave them For him to do even when I told him I was moving. He basically stole My chairs. I'm going to have to take him to court now. And I will - but seriously. Not cool. I'm also contacting UHaul. How they continue to let him do business like this is deplorable. read more

We used Michaels Upholstery as a Uhaul return location. We needed two trips, and I'm so happy we chose this return location because Michael himself called us the morning our truck was due back to check in and let us know we could return it any time that evening, and gave us some helpful tips about locating the correct drop off location as well as after hours drop off protocol. I really appreciated his personal touch. We rented several trucks on different dates for our move and we did not get this kind of service from other locations. Thanks, Michael! read more

What a great company. We were so happy with our reupholstered outdoor cushions and footstools. We'll be back!

Wow. Thank goodness for Yelp. I am so grateful to the folks that put up the information about upholstery work. Thank you thank you thank you. The photos are priceless in my decision on where to send my antique chair. Since I skipped the service, it is hard to assess a star value. Do your homework like Momma says..... And we're walking.... read more

Stephanie was amazing in assisting me with a truck rental with tow dolly to tow our broken down vehicle this past Independence Day Weekend. She was super helpful and made sure that I knew how to secure the vehicle properly. The equipment was in great shape and the customer service would be hard to beat. We were almost done with the transaction when she realized from a comment I had made that I was traveling with two kids, she made sure I had the right truck to seat them and not the two-bucket seater that she had originally reserved for me. The change was made with no-fuss at all. During our family crisis, Stephanie, with her sunny smile, was a godsend. It's a person like her that truly made our ordeal bearable. Thank you!! In hindsight, I am kinda glad the other two U-haul places that came up first on my Google search didn't have the equipment I needed. read more

Very convenient location, very nice service and I rented a new moving van that was clean and great to drive. I got checked in and out quickly at the correct price and was even provided a safe place to park my car overnight. Wow what a nice man. Michaels Upholstery and Uhaul. We needed a trailer ASAP and he was so accommodating. Long story on my end and our emergency shouldn't be anyone else's but he was soooo sweet and helpful. I will most definitely use him again for any rental needs. I'm going to guess he's probably good at the upholstery side of the business too. read more

Michael was beyond helpful during a very stressful move. He was the only person in the entire north county that had a tow dolly and he beat everyone's prices by $30! He answered all my questions and even let us borrow his 4 way adaptor (we forgot ours). Great guy. Great experience. Will send whoever I can his way! read more

This is the best location I have ever used. Michael is very nice and will help you in any way he can. Very knowledgeable and they always get my reservation correct. Very fast service. DO NOT USE MICHAEL FOR ANY OF YOUR REUPHOLSTERY WORK. In February, 2015, after sending pictures to Michael of my loveseat/recliner, he assured me that he could and would do the work. I stopped by his shop, purchased and paid for my new fabric. He assured me that it would be a couple of months before he would stop by my home to pick-up. Did not hear for from him in April, 2015 (2 months passed), so I called and he said it would be a couple of more months. Needless to say it was longer than that - it was June, 2015 before he picked it up and again assured me that he would have it back to me within a couple of months. I was way to patient and understanding with this guy. After a lot of the same treatment by Michael, my husband picked it up yesterday, October 14, 2015. We had had enough. My husband called Michael on Tuesday, October 13th to let him know that he would be by to pick it up. The condition of my loveseat/recliner was nothing like when he got it. It was taken apart and nothing done to it. He didn't even bother to put it back together. Let me also mention that he picked it up in a U-Haul truck (which is part of this business) and he left it in the U-Haul from the time he picked it up until my husband went to get it (June-October). Sitting in this U-Haul through the summer heat and who knows what else. His excuse for this was that it smelled of "cat piss" (his exact words). Now he is adding insult to injury. It wasn't like that when he got it. I hope others read this review and re-consider before letting Michael do any re-upholstery work for them. read more

This uhaul location is the only one I'll use! Its really easy to get to. The customer service is fabulous. Stephanie really goes above and beyond for her customers. When I moved from atascadero to the bay area I was happy to have her help me. With all her help and uhaul it really made my move much easier. Less stress on me:) I will always recommend them to everyone. read more

My boyfriend and I were moving from Santa Margarita to Atascadero, we had planned on moving over 3 weekends and not renting a truck. Due to some unforeseen issues with our current location we needed to rent a truck and moving everything in 1 day. Michaels Upholstery/Uhaul came up as the closest location. I called down and spoke with Michael he had the truck we needed but it was reserved for the following morning at 10am. We said well take it, this was 30 minutes before he was closing on a Saturday night. We got there and he was checking in 2 other trucks but welcomed us and was very polite. We got the truck and did our moving when we returned it 45 minutes earlier then when he needed it he thanked us by giving us a discount. Great costumer service and overall a very friendly guy. I will always recommend Michaels for anyone whose moving in the area now. read more

Dora is FANTASTIC!! We reserved a small trailer this past week to pick up a motorcycle. We received a phone call prior to the reservation letting us know that the trailer was ready early if we wanted to pick it up - WHICH WE DID!! To our surprise, the paperwork was quick and easy. Then to make things even better, Dora came outside with us, hooked up the trailer and chains, checked the lights and sent us on our way. It seems like you just can't get that kind of friendly efficient service these days. We will definitely be return customers because of her!! read more

Do not use this guy. He will tell you week after week he is starting your job but never does! We brought a chair and ottoman for upholstery. We agreed to the price and we're told 8 weeks. After 8 weeks we started checking in every 2 weeks. Being told each time that it's going on the bench next week. 5 1/2 months passed and we got our deposit back and a diassembled chair now worth nothing. read more

Well I came in to drop off a truck and was greeted in a most friendly manner. The entire transaction was pleasant - very pleasant and it was like dealing with a friend you had known for a long time. Then a week later I had to drop off another truck and she remembered me and my name and well that is just top shelf. Thanks read more

We were going to purchase new patio furniture then were told Michael could put new webbing on it. He fixed 4 chairs and 2 chaise lounges and they look like new. This saved us over a thousand dollars. Thanks, Michael. read more

Friendly, prompt service. Good deals. Great locally owned business. Open 7 days a week! Good place for upholstering or moving needs!

The best U-Haul place around. Stephanie is warm, helpful, funny and beautiful to boot! I tell everyone looking either to rent a U-Haul or have something re-upholstered that Michaels is THE place to go thank you Michaels for the continual great service and low prices. read more

I would never drop off a u haul truck at this place. The guy that I dropped off the truck with. Was very unprofessional. He said they were closed. Even though the sign on the door said open and website. After all that. They over charged me and said that I dropped off the truck late. It as a big hassle getting my money back. read more

These guys are awesome! Efficient, friendly and went out of their way to help us with our travel trailer. I've rented from U-Haul dozens of times over the years and I can honestly say this is the best customer service experience I have ever had with a U-Haul location. I would say 6 stars but Yelp won't let me! Thanks again!! read more

Not only are they fairest price in town, they have great customer service. Always going the extra mile to help accommodate the wary mover. From the beginning to the end I was offered every kindness. Don't bother shopping around all over. Stephanie the owner will take very good care of you at an extremely competitive price. read more

I haven't visited Michael's, yet, but I wanted to give a thumbs up for the great service he provided while I was trying to book a truck to make a dump run through the U-Haul website. Nobody in the area had the truck I booked but Michael and Chris across town were so helpful. Chris did not get my booking so he happily gave me Michael's number. Michael called around to try and find my booking and a truck to fulfill the booking since he did not have one available. Service around SLO county is extremely hit and miss....mostly miss. So, when you find hard working guys like Michael and Chris you got to do everything to support them. read more

Rented a uhaul here and got excellent service. No complaints! I would call ahead of time to make sure they have what you need. Other than that I would recommend anyone to this spot! read more

I cannot recommend Michael highly enough. Our car broke down on holiday in Paso Robles, and we decided to haul it back up to the Bay Area. Michael went above and beyond to help us find an auto trailer from another U-haul location, even though the only one to be found was way outside of town in King City. He must have made a dozen calls on our behalf, and followed up to make sure we were all set. Very impressed by his service. Thank you! read more

I was very impressed with the customer service I received from the staff at Michael's Upholstery. They were very organized and extremely knowledgeable. Exceptional Service. Stephanie traveled to another town to obtain the trailer I needed for my last move!
