First, the Innkeeper Teresa and Georgia are very welcoming, and we have been comfortable in the rooms that we've stayed in, the Mountain View Room being our favorite overall, spacious and overlooking the beautiful creek and Mt.Madonna. Because we travel with our Senior dogs who aren't used to stairs as much, recently we have chosen the Jasmine Room, but it is quiet, very charming and private, with it's own bathroom. We have always also enjoyed the friendly, relational guests that we meet and often they are connected to Cal Poly as Alumni, as we are. Second, we enjoy the location which is down the street from the park on Santa Rosa Street and brings back memories of the days when we lived in that area as students at Cal Poly in the 80's. We always appreciate the dog friendly policy here where our dogs can walk and relax,visiting the many local dog friendly cafes and outdoor places to explore. Lastly, the homey touches and the history of this house that is displayed in the Parlor and little things like the wonderful fragrant organic soap, the warm freshly baked cookies, and the nice wine and cheese we have enjoyed with our dog in the Parlor have been highlights. We also look forward to the delicious Fritatta with fresh fruit and baked loaf cakes that are served in the morning. One time we had yogurt and cereal offered also. Mostly we really appreciate this beautiful Inn as a place to escape the modern, busy society that we live in to come relax in a slower, simpler moment in time.

Moldy shower, no cold water in bathroom sink, cobwebs on walls, nasty dirty carpet, broken dresser blocking parking space, balcony used as a storage unit, smells like cigarettes & weed, no coffee/breakfast (probably a good thing). A few folks who seem to live in some of the rooms, skanky folks in & out @ very late hours. Disappointing & SAD!

We checked in around 6pm on a week day and booked a fire place room (room 8). We had no issues checking in and I love how cozy the hotel is. It had a feel of a small, personal hotel which I loved over these big hotel chains. The price was also very fair per night. The room: extremely large and clean. I loved the fire place although it got pretty hot pretty quickly. This would be perfect for the winter! I liked it just because there's something about having a fire place that just makes the room much more cozy. Amenities: The hotel delivers breakfast every morning around 7am with local black coffee and two pastries. We were also very pleasantly surprised to see they have an EV charger. It's $2 per hour which is fair. Charges about 6kwH (even though the charger says 8kW per hour). The good thing is when the charges cut out occasionally, it didn't charge me for that time. Was able to charge fully on my Tesla Y from 10% to 80% for like $14. They also have local Kombucha which you can ask for at the front desk. You can also keep the bags that come with the breakfast which is an awesome momento! Feedback to the hotel: I didn't take any stars off because it's not really a negative but just something you can improve on. We did have really noisy guests next door some back late at night (likely inebriated) but the walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything even people just walking up the stairs to their rooms. It woke us up and made it hard to fall back asleep. We could also hear the laundry machines or something rumbling in the middle of the night as well. Moreover, the sink stopped draining in the bathroom which we told the front desk at checkout and they were appreciative of the feedback. Overall, my wife and I loved this hotel. the rooms were lovely and cozy. It was so awesome they had EV charges which saved me so much time having to run to a super charger. Service was amazing as well. Would definitely stay here again when visiting SLO.

I would have given this place 5 stars, but I had so many issues with the billing and booking process for a room block that I was stressed more about this than anything that I planned for my wedding. I got married in SLO last month and I booked 4 rooms for two-nights with a contract months in advance. I emailed back and forth with Chavah, the hotel manager, who gave me rates and readily answered my questions in the beginning. Once I signed the contract (4 rooms for the same rate $226 for the first night, $374 for the second night), I didn't hear from the manager again. I was literally ghosted. I would have stayed any extra night on Wednesday or Saturday, but when I asked about the rates for those nights, she never got back to me. When my family and friends called to ask questions about the cancellation policy, I found out after speaking with the staff at the reservation desk that they were given the wrong information. When I first signed the contract, I was overcharged on the deposit (first night's rate) for each room in different amounts. I had to be refunded after I brought it to their attention. When I checked in the day before my wedding, I was overcharged on the second night for two rooms and had to be refunded again after several conversations. I sincerely want to thank Isabella and May for their help in resolving this situation. The rooms were great. They provide delicious breakfast muffins and coffee. The beds were comfortable, the AC works great, it's clean, and the rooms are nicely decorated. The only downsides are that the walls are kind of thin so you can hear neighbors and there was a buzzing/humming sound coming from the fridge all night, but otherwise, the stay itself was fine. My brother and dad had stayed here before and had a positive stay, so that's why I thought to book a room block, but I won't ever consider them for an event again.

Although we did not go to any of the wineries in the the area we were in the midst of scenic picturesque views in Paso Robles and its surrounding areas. We appreciated the welcoming hospitality of Amy and Tom for making us feel comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. From the creative and accommodating breakfasts (we're Vegans) to the comfortable bed we enjoyed while we were there. Amy made us some delicious Vegan chilaquiles for our first morning and Avocado toast on our second. Both breakfasts are making me hungry as I write this. I've never experienced a Bed and Breakfast but they really set the bar high for my personal expectations going forward. We were able to relax and watch the wild turkeys when we awoke to plan our days there. Thanks for providing the recommendations and giving us an insider perspective of what makes this area special. We look forward to sharing our experiences with our family and friends and will refer them to Creekside if they ever make the trip this way. This room was so disappointing. It had a tiny bathroom sink in the actual room living area and not in the main bathroom which had no sink. The mirror over this bedroom sink was so old you could not even see your face in any kind of detail for makeup or for shaving. I believe most of the other rooms may have complete separate bathrooms with a sink. The Garden Inn is in a nice location just when making reservations try to avoid the D Elegance room if at all possible.

I've been staying at The Butler Hotel every time I visit this area since 2022, and it has never…read moredisappointed me. My expectations have remained consistently high because of the warm hospitality and exceptional cleanliness. One of my favorite features is the open kitchen, which is thoughtfully stocked with many of the comforts you would enjoy at home while traveling. On weekends, the staff often adds a personal touch by offering complimentary wine and pastries for guests, making the experience even more welcoming. San Luis Obispo is a wonderful place to visit, and The Butler Hotel makes me feel less like a traveler and more like a member of the local community. It truly feels like a home away from home, and I look forward to staying here every time I return.
