This time, I had an "A4 Service" message on my panel, so I looked for a local place other than the dealer, which is very inconvenient in SLO. Well, Yelp came to my rescue. Auto Limits shows with 5 stars, and it's located so close to me. I called them, made an appointment, and they gave me a reasonable quote. That morning, I dropped it off, and John said it would be ready by 2pm. Well, before 2pm, i received a call that it could be picked up. Not only that, it was nearly a $100 lower than the estimate "...because it was checked, and wasn't needed"...wow. I love it. What makes up for a little messy / fugly office, they are nice, honest, and give good service. Again, love it.

Auto Limits was helpful, responsive, and took a look at the car as soon as she arrived. He was very kind, explained everything thoroughly, and most of all did not try to take advantage of a young woman in an emergency situation.

Why would one take the time to review a gas station on Yelp? Well, when the gas station is as…read moreawesome as this, one would have to! It's actually California law that gas stations are required to provide free gas and water when you buy gasoline. On the rare occasions I've tried to ask for either in the LA area, the gas station attendant acts like I might as well be asking for the earth and the moon. Then midway through they'll shut it off, so I'll have to go back, they'll begrudgingly turn it on again, and I'll have to go back to my car and so on and so forth... With the employees here, it's completely the opposite! Because I wanted to use Apple Pay inside they let me fill up my tank first and then allowed me to pay for it later. Imagine doing that in LA! When I asked about air, one of the mechanics actually checked each of my tires for me and even went underneath the car to grab a valve-cap that I had dropped. And they waved us goodbye and thanked us for coming! No, thank YOU!! This station deserves ALL the Mobil awards! PS. The gas was cheaper than the other stations in the area!

I didn't realize we needed a STAR station and initially went to a mechanic I've trusted for four years. After about 30 minutes of trying, he realized he couldn't perform the smog test. My girlfriend suggested heading to a place on 6th and Spring, saying she'd been there before. We drove over, and after a short wait, we met Matt, who was busy with another customer. When he greeted us, he explained there were two cars ahead, so we decided to wait. The total time spent was about 40 minutes, and Matt was fantastic--personable, knowledgeable, and professional. He answered all my questions about the smog process and took the time to chat when he learned my son was joining the Marines. To my surprise, he offered a military discount as a gesture of gratitude for my son's service, which I thought was awesome. Would I go back? Absolutely! I think I've found my new go-to mechanic. Hopefully, I won't need him often, but I wouldn't hesitate to return. He originally quoted $60 for the smog test but knocked off $10 with the discount. Thanks, Matt, for the speedy service and kindness!
