But Dr Billings was in and out within 2 minutes, more concerned with my easy case getting her back on schedule than even saying'hello' or 'how can i help' . Boom, tennis elbow, nothing else could possibly be wrong, i don't want to know u, this is a slam dunk, get outta my hair, adios. Dr Billings is a perfect example of our f'd up medical system. I turned to this practice because of the need for a timely appointment. Looking for a hand specialist in Pasadena meant several weeks or even months of waiting lists. Dr. Billings at Pasadena Orthopedics was readily available. She was quick but very specific during my appointment and answered all my questions clearly. She identified my hand problems as actually two different issues (carpal tunnel plus significant arthritis in the thumb) and recommended specific treatment for each. I've already had significant improvement, and have completed two surgeries, one on each wrist for the carpal tunnel. The outpatient surgeries followed her pattern of professional treatment, and readily available to answer questions. Pasadena Orthopedics in general has been able to accommodate my appointment needs, they operate extended hours. They have pleasant front office staff. read more

I broke my ankle in a rock climbing accident 3 months ago and my insurance referred me to Pasadena Orthopedics. Dr. Gipsman performed ORIF surgery on my ankle two weeks after the accident and I've have an extremely smooth recovery following his instructions since. He even went the extra mile and was available by text/phone in the days after my surgery, which were rough as my system had to adjust to the pain medicine. Additionally, during the surgery, it ended up being a more involved operation than he thought, so he called my parents to let them know that everything was okay and it was just taking longer than expected, which I really appreciated. Dr. Gipsman was amazing and answered every question I have and I felt he really prioritized my goals in my recovery, which were to rock climb and be athletic again! He is very direct and open about what to expect at each stage of my recovery, and what to expect for the rest of my life since it was a bad break. I have nothing but optimism for me making nearly a full recovery thanks to him. Just three months out and I was able to start safely rock climbing and living my daily life again, just a little bit slower! My experience with the front office has also been completely stress free and I've had no issue scheduling appointments or dealing with re-schedules if needed. Their automated system also does a great job reminding you of appointments. They were also great at assisting with EDD paperwork or getting whatever forms my employer needed to approve my brief medical leave. I really valued this when initially dealing with the stress of breaking my ankle. Overall I would absolutely recommend Pasadena Orthopedics. read more

She was able to quickly diagnose the issue and carefully perform the procedure so I could find immediate relief from my pain. She walked me through each step of the process and provided clear instruction for post-surgery care. This review is for Dr Zack, while a great ortho she is constantly at least 1 hr behind for appointments. As a patient who sees a lot of specialists she is by far the worst for time management of the doctors I see. I had to leave my follow up appointment today because she is so far behind I would end up missing another appointment scheduled 2 hours after I should have been seen by Dr Zack. She needs to accept less patients or spend more time at the Pasadena location. read more

I feel ripped off. For the feet checkup and three x-rays, they billed my insurance for $912, out of which I had to pay $314.65. Unfortunately, they did not provide their rates up front. And apparently, I would have paid less if I had used cash instead of giving my insurance. Plus, they sold their inserts that cost $62 and don't feel any different from the store's ones. read more

13 years ago I was involved in a motorcycle accident and Dr. Annette Billings performed an amazing surgery on my left scaphoid. But recently, I cut my thumb pretty deep during work and then stupidly went lobster diving and exacerbated it. After snapping some photos of my glorious limit haul and taking my glove off, I knew the extensor tendon on my thumb had been severed. I was distressed finding a hand surgeon especially with no medical insurance, but to my surprise I found Dr. Billings to have an office less than 3 minutes from where I live!! They were able to schedule me for an appointment the next day, and we went straight to the point of how to proceed with smiles and comfort. Marlene has also been so helpful and professional getting the process pushed in a timely manner! She quickly gave me a thorough breakdown and was able to squeeze me in for surgery for 3 days later! Even though I'm paying out of pocket, I can't help but to think how lucky I am to be taken care of such a heart-warming staff supporting a confident, skilled, and respected doctor. Dr Ameri is an extraordinary surgeon. I was diagnosed with Myelopathy after doing an MRI for the doctor and confirming his suspicions. Surgery would be needed. Dr. Ameri took the time to thoroughly explain procedures and answer any questions. Dr Ameri was able to rush my surgery date after I experienced a few falls and rapid deterioration in my condition. All along I felt reassured by his calm demeanor and professionalism. Doctor Ameri's bedside manners pre and post-surgery were the best part of his "caring" attitude. Crushed my index finger on my dominant hand. Was told surgery was necessary, but that she'd only be able to figure out what was needed during the operation. After surgery I was provided zero information about what was discovered, what was done, how I should care for it, things I should look out for, concerns, movement restrictions, etc. I was simply told not to get it wet or washing my hand for two weeks. I called her office to see if I could get more clarity, they told me I could schedule another appointment, but she doesn't respond to phone inquiries. I asked just to be given some basic information. I didn't get a return call from her staff or anyone. About a week after the surgery I started getting strange nerve pains in my finger. I called the office and left a voicemail to please have someone call me. After 3 days I called again, and again got the voicemail. Regardless of her skill as a surgeon, her and her teams' clear disrespect for her patients is shocking. read more

Two years ago when I broke my finger(spiral fracture) Dr Billings was great with helping my address the problem by preforming surgery, which was extremely successful because now my finger is as good as new with no signs of ever being broken. I don't write many reviews but I felt like I needed to leave one here. Great doctors are hard to find, mostly because we don't get to shop around before we need one. I think people should let people know when you find one that you know is amazing. My husband and son both used Dr. Annette Billings and had a great experience. I had heard about Dr. Billings from several different people and I have kept her name in the back of my head for over a decade. My husband needed surgery on his thumb, we were worried about nerve damage and numbness. We understood the gravity of the surgery and the risks going into it. I remembered what I had heard about Dr. Billings and her meticulous work, especially when it came to reconnecting nerve endings. She did an amazing job and I'm so grateful we sought her out. We were pleased to find out she was covered by our insurance. My son was having issues with his wrist after doing some heavy road biking. We thought it was severe nerve damage(it was over the course of two years). She was able to look at it and see if he needed surgery. She had him come in so she could examine it and told him what to do. He followed her instructions carefully and his wrist healed, he was able to avoid surgery altogether. We are so grateful. We found someone honest and also talented in this field. Hopefully you never need an orthopedic surgeon, but in the case that you do Dr. Billings is an excellent choice. read more
