I don't write a lot of reviews... but I had to get on for this one. Dr Ferrante and his team were some of the most helpful and kind doctors I think I've ever met! I just moved to California and needed help with my toe- I had so many questions and a lot of fear about what would happen, and Dr Ferrante was so kind and thoughtful throughout the entire procedure! No pain, all kindness. If I ever have toe troubles again, I know where I need to go- you're in safe hands here! read more

After I completed about 7-8 pages of forms and emailed them to the Dr. a week prior to the exam as requested, and had provided all my insurance info with personal ID's for those. Mary there, 32 minutes after my scheduled appt. time, said they would not see me because I agreed to show but not allow copying of my California REAL ID. When I asked to discuss this with Dr. Ferrante, they refused that, stating the Dr. was seeing patients, 45 minutes after my appt time still. I would not recommend Dr. Ferrante to anyone. The staff (Mary) is incompetent and combative. The Dr. overbooks. read more

Dr. Ferrante's staff is completely unprofessional and unfamiliar with the billing code for Medicare. They don't take the time to seek preapproval through insurance prior to the procedure. I have absolutely no idea how this doctor stays in business with this incompetent staff. read more

As other reviewers have stated, the staff is unprofessional and incompetent. After I already had paid them over $300 in person, I was sent an erroneous bill for another nearly $300 (this for the insoles the doctor said were not even necessary). When I called the office (at 626-577-0700 - not the "billing service") to ask for an account correction, the doctors office girl who answered supposedly 'researched' my account, and doubled-down, telling me that it was correct billing and I owed them the additional amount. As I protested further I was rudely told "well you signed the papers, so..." After providing them proof by emailing my insurance EOB to the office's email listed on their website (pasadenapodiatry@sbcglobal.net - again, not the "billing service") I received no reply. So my insurance called the doctors office directly to speak to them, and that's when the office staff apparently realized they DID in fact make a mistake. My insurance told me to ignore the bill. The office did not contact me back at all to let me know, and tellingly, I received absolutely no apology whatsoever for their error and the aggravation it caused. I emailed the office again the next day, asking if they could just kindly ship me the insoles that we paid for, since I am a caregiver and don't have the ability to just get up and leave to retrieve them. But this place obviously has zero empathy, and even after all of the stress they caused, they are now demanding an additional $10 to send me the insoles. Even though there is absolutely nothing listed in their paperwork I signed notating this alleged fee, they keep repeating "we cannot waive it!" Nice. Well, perhaps unsurprisingly, this business must not be doing too well if they really need this 10 dollars... In sum: Exceedingly poor administration and terrible "customer service." I wish I had read the other Yelp reviews before going here in the first place! UPDATE: The business's response has just validated their one-star rating, as the reply is entirely dishonest, dismissive, and full of excuses... I never talked to any "billing service" or anyone besides THEIR office staff. And, no, the insoles were absolutely NOT "medically necessary" for me, they were optional, at BEST. And then they blame someone else for THEIR unprofessional behavior!? That's not a real apology, folks. SMH... You can easily "resolve this issue ethically and efficiently" by simply sending me the insoles we paid for without extorting another ten bucks. Looking deeper, I noticed in other reviews here that many others shared upsetting experiences dealing with some shady billing practices at this place. So, it's either sustained and consistent ineptitude, or they're doing this stuff on purpose. As with most offices, the front staff can make or break your experience. One of the women who was working there when I visited multiple times was extremely rude and canceled and reschedule my appointment without telling me, forcing me to push my appointments back a month. This same woman also didn't read her own notes that she wrote during our appointment and called me to ask the same questions again. What are you doing there? On the other hand, there is another woman (and I wish I could remember her name) who was very helpful and kind. Not sure what the doctors hiring logic is, but his staff is all over the place. I did come in for foot pain and my problem resolved itself after a steroid shot. He recommended custom insoles, but given my expensive copay for a specialist, I'm not sure it was entirely worth the end cost. read more

For starters before deciding to write this, I just scanned through the various reviews written here by many over the years some seem genuine some seem fabricated. If you all want to know the difference between the two the fabricated are 1 star reviews written where it seems no thought was put into it just random ramblings and blah blah's from people with no friends here and from people who have written possibly 1 to 30 some odd reviews that have thought and effort put into them. That all said I have been seeing Dr. Ferrante since April of this year for diabetic neuropathy in both my feet thats uncontrolled and his office, office staff and Dr. Ferrante himself they are very welcoming, understanding people. His girls who answer the phone one of whom I think her name is Vanessa she's super awesome and when she promises to call me back she does. I dont have to call back to remind her what I needed or had questions about. Its a very pleasnt change of pace to find someone who is good about following up. Dr. Ferrante himself he is a professional soft spoken man who listens to all your concerns before making any recommendations. Ever since I was diagnosed with the diabetes many years ago I have heard from various Doctors to go see a podiatrist and I have been scared to do so, but Dr Ferrante has put all those concerns to rest and I no longer fear seeing someone like him. read more

I've been to this office a couple of times doctor and staff are so sweet. The wait time is a little long but I would expect that for a small office. Doctor is very caring and goes out of his way to give you different options on how to treat the problem. read more

I show up 10 minutes early for my 9 a.m. appointment. Took a while to get there because only one elevator in the 8-story building is working. The door to the office is locked. No receptionist, no doctor. Fine, I'm early. But the hallway is hot, incredibly loud, and smells like a sewage overflow. And there's no place to sit -- perfect for people seeing a podiatrist, for whom standing is difficult and painful! And of course you can't use the bathroom -- you need a key that only office staff can provide. Nine o'clock rolls around. Still no one. Then 9:15. Finally, a receptionist rolls in, but still no sign of any doctor materializing. The receptionist goes in but rather than helping the now FOUR patients who have been waiting outside in the smelly, loud, chairless hallway, she starts making phone calls without so much as acknowledging the patients' existence. Instead of getting any help, the patients -- a woman in a wheelchair, an elderly woman with a cane, an elderly man who walks with difficulty, and me -- stare at the sign threatening to charge $45 to anyone with the audacity not to show up for their appointment. How rich! Oh, and you are paying for parking the whole time. In more than half a century of medical visits, I've candidly never encountered a less professional office, or one that shows less respect for its patients and customers. I could understand the doctor OR the receptionist having an emergency, but when neither shows up for your appointment, you know it is intentional indifference. Shame, shame, shame. read more

I had a great experience with Dr F and his staff. I was BEYOND nervous going to my appointment but the Dr put me at ease with his calm attitude, competence and obvious knowledge. Although we have to wait for insurance authorization to complete my procedure, he provided me with as much service as possible to alleviate my discomfort until we can proceed. He acknowledged my nerves, answered all my questions and I feel very confident going forward with my procedure. read more

The doctor is friendly and informal. He answers all your questions, and is very concerned about if you are feeling pain. Also, you don't usually wait longer than 10 min in the waiting room, and once you're moved to the exam room he's there within a few minutes. NOTE: Parking on the lot is expensive if you don't get a prescription. Parking on the street is hit or miss. read more

I had a great experience with Dr Ferrante, he explained my diagnosis and answered my questions without rushing. He treated my foot without surgery although another doctor told me I had to have surgery. This is why I went for a second opinion and I'm so glad I did. This guy is your typical: "Just put ice on it and take some advil..." Or "I can inject it with steroids if that doesn't work." Not interested in the cause of the issue, only interested in how he can make your discomfort level on the silly pain meter go down. Oh, and god forbid you want to discuss that x-ray from a few months back. You'll have to plunk down some more money and go visit again. In other words: he cares about you, not... unless you've got money to burn. Also, his orthotic inserts (which are more expensive than those bought elsewhere online) are poorly made and sub-par. I have been to Dr. Ferrante's office once before and had a decent experience. But today I had a very bad experience with his office!! I was checked in quickly and taken to an exam room where I waited for 45 minutes without anyone ever coming in to give me an update as to why the wait was so long. It wasn't like it was busy at all. I brought this up to the girl at the front desk, who said that she was filling in for the office manager, and was told I had to wait longer. I got an unacceptable response so I got my co- pay refunded and left. I still need to see a dr. for an infected toenail but it will be a different dr.!!!!! I missed work for nothing!!! Also I looked at my insurance for my prior visit and Dr. Ferrante billed my insurance $185 for cutting a little part of my toenail off. Ridiculous!! read more

I have had an ankle problem for years and my husband has had foot problems for decades so I did some research (not just yelp) and found Dr. Ferrante's office. After quite a few appointments and two different surgeries (one for each of us), we are now both pain free and able to start exercising again and we owe it all to him and his great group of women who run the office. I have come when it is super busy and fortunately, have not had the experience of the previous yelper. They have checked in on me and rescheduled me without any complaints when I had conflicts. The doctor is always very amiable (even when I am late) and takes the time to ask questions and explain things in a way that this layperson can understand. I even had a problem with a bill from the anesthiologist's office and Dr. Ferrante's girls handled it for me which helped my stress level immensely. I just cannot say enough about their professionalism and friendly demeanor - I would never go anywhere else for my foot and ankle needs. P.S. yes, the parking sucks so I always park on Colorado because there are usually spaces that are 1 hour free. read more

Dr Ferrante is Heaven sent!!! I went to him as a new patient a couple of days ago to get treated for an extremely painful case of plantar fasciitis. Dr. Ferrante and his staff were very friendly and knowledgable. He took time to explain my condition and treatment options. I was not too thrilled about having an injection in my heel but with his personality, I couldn't refuse. Let me just say, I didn't walk out like I walked in. The parking is $6.00 and they only accept cash. read more

Wonderfully knowledgable staff and doctor. I felt comforted and informed while Dr. Fee ranted was performing my ingrown nail extraction. He let me know there were a few possibilities and what all of that meant. I really felt like he cared and was worried about my pain and discomfort. The staff and doctor are both very kind and helpful. Dr. Ferrante was very patient and spent plenty of time with me, examining, explaining, treating. I didn't feel rushed at all which is a nice switch from some of my other docs! I was desperate and they gave me a same day appt which was really great. Dr. F is a great podiatrist. I did not want to surgery and he was able to work with me on other ways to relieve the pain without jumping to surgery. The reason for the poor review ---his office. They are completely incompetent. They misbilled me - incorrectly coded my paperwork, resulting in me receiving invoices over $1,000. It took me 3 months to straighten it out. I ended up working directly with the insurance company as Dr F's office couldn't figure it out --I think her name was June. I had to go for one more follow up appointment and it happened again. Now I am wasting several more hours with the insurance company to fix Dr F's office mistake. I am moving to a different provider b/c it is not worth the hassle or the time spent. read more

I saw Dr. Ferrante for some orthotic inserts. He did a competent job and the inserts really helped. Unfortunately the office staff is deficient. About three months after my last visit, I was billed $141 for work done on another patient. After a phone call they said they would correct the problem and were apologetic, but who needs the hassle? it is hard to imagine the level of incompetence that would lead to this type of error. read more

The surgery is for a fibroma on my right ball foot, about 5 years ago. Prior the surgery, MRI and X-Ray has been done and reviewed. On the surgery day, I cannot feel anything, my right foot was bandaged. A week later, I went to see the doctor for follow up. He took an X-Ray so he can take a look a look the progress. HE DID NOT REMOVE ALL FIBROMA ON MY RIGHT FOOT. He said, I didn't see the other side/part. We can do another surgery, the stitches is still raw. I do not understand how come he missed the other side/part that need to be removed from the foot. Every MRI will have a film and a diagnose report. MRI Report will include whether the findings is normal or abnormal. He doesn't know what he is doing and still taking people money. I am writing this so other people will not the same experience like I did. Today, I am still having problem with my foot. I cannot stand straight which causing the posture problems. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Ferrante for many years. He is an excellent doctor. Dr. Ferrante takes the time to give thorough examinations and always answers all of my questions and listens to all of my concerns in order to diagnose and treat the problem leaving no stone unturned. He is very kind and very concerned about his patients. Dr. Ferrante and his staff are extremely professional. I have recommended Dr. Ferrante to friends and family and I would not hesitate to see him for any foot problems I may have in the future. Went to this doctor for ingrown nail problem. I am from out of town and used yelp to help find a podiatrist. I agree totally with the reviewer R.C. All options were discussed and I didn't feel rushed. The staff was efficent and helpful. Much to my surprise the shots to numb my toe were virtually painless. They were helpful in getting my prescription to a local pharmacy-this took some patience since I had no local one handy. The fact that Dr. Ferrante is board certified was extremely valuable to me. read more
