He's incredibly thorough and always takes the time to explain every important detail before my lumbar sciatica injections, which helps me feel informed and at ease throughout the procedure. Everyone here has been wonderful. The nurses are kind, compassionate, and professional. I also want to give a special shout-out to the X-ray technician who works with Dr. Myers in the procedure room. He is the sweetest! Whenever he notices that I'm uncomfortable, he checks in on me and starts a conversation to help distract me and make the procedure a little easier. Those small acts of kindness make a huge difference. Overall, every visit has been smooth, and I've always felt well taken care of. I was referred to Dr. Pradhan by my primary care physician for what my PCP thought was a pinched nerve, which was causing severe pain and numbness in my left leg. Dr. Pradhan didn't conduct any kind of physical examination of me aside from looking at my x-rays. He gave me a cursory explanation of his diagnosis. He didn't ask me if I had any questions. When I did ask him questions, his answers were curt. Total time spent together was less than 10 minutes. Surprise -- the line item on my bill describes it as a 45-minute exam. I came here to translate for my mother in law, she's deaf and she needed assistance translating into ASL. She had carpal tunnel surgery and Dr. Mostofi was her surgeon. He was very professional and took time to answer questions she had. The only thing that I was a bit thrown off was that the nurse blew out her veins twice and had to get another nurse to get an IV in. She was in pain while the first nurse was trying to insert an IV. I went to Dr. Amir Mostofi for a work-related injury, and I left feeling like my situation and the pain I was dealing with were not taken seriously. The evaluation itself was extremely quick, yet I ended up waiting much longer afterward for the supplemental report that was needed to address issues from the original report. I was told the supplemental report was being worked on, and I have now been waiting over 90 days. I was told the expected timeframe was 60-90 days, and I was not given a clear explanation for why this has taken so long or when I can actually expect the report. There were also basic errors in my original report, including incorrect spelling, which was one of the reasons a supplemental report was needed in the first place. Every time I contacted the office, I felt like I was getting the same runaround instead of an actual answer. Meanwhile, I'm the person who has to live with the consequences of these delays. I'm injured, I need treatment, and this report is directly relevant to my workers' compensation case. At this point, I am extremely disappointed with the way this entire process has been handled. I am also considering filing a complaint with the California DWC Medical Unit so the delays and handling of my evaluation can be reviewed. To make matters even worse I was actually sent a QME report that was not mine. I contacted the office because I was expecting my supplemental report, only to receive documentation belonging to someone else. That raised serious concerns for me about how my case and confidential information were being handled. If you are dealing with a serious workers' compensation case I strongly recommend doing your research before choosing this doctor. My experience has been incredibly frustrating and I would not choose this doctor again. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Northrop in 2025 in Pasadena, CA. While in the examination room, I observed my MRI on his screen, but he asked me if I knew what it revealed instead of reviewing it with me. I indicated I had been told I had a partially torn ACL. He did not agree or disagree but asked to examine my knee. He spoke very little and did not explain what he was doing or why. He left the room and returned after a few minutes to suggest a cortisone shot. Because I had been in pain for about two months, I agreed. After administering the shot, he left the room and never returned. I eventually just walked out, and no one at the front desk offered to schedule a follow-up appointment. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with Dr. Northrop's demeanor, communication, and treatment approach.Because my pain continued, I sought a second opinion from another orthopedic surgeon. Upon looking at the exact same MRI, the second doctor immediately diagnosed me with a torn meniscus and confirmed my ACL was completely intact. I have since undergone a successful meniscectomy and am finally recovering. I do not recommend Dr. Northrop, as I believe he caused me to suffer far longer than necessary. read more

I saw Dr. Braden Criswell in 2019 after fracturing my heel bone. The diagnosis was clear and the treatment plan was solid. From a clinical standpoint, I felt the care itself was appropriate and well-structured. That said, I'm sharing this feedback directly with the provider in hopes that it supports the development of a more empathetic bedside manner. During the visit, I was advised to lose weight--despite the fact that I had recently lost 40 pounds over the course of two years and fractured my heel while walking to maintain that progress. That comment was not only discouraging, it felt completely disconnected from the context and was frankly insulting. What also went unacknowledged was the fact that I was perimenopausal at the time. Stress fractures like this are very common for women at this stage of life, and a more thoughtful approach might have included recommending a bone density scan to evaluate whether something more was contributing to the injury. That would have been an appropriate and proactive step. Lastly, I want to remind any healthcare provider reading this that weight is not always a matter of lifestyle alone. In my case, a contributing medical condition has played a significant role. Patients should feel supported, not shamed. When we go to providers for care, we do not expect to be judged or made to feel blamed for our pain. I hope this is taken in the spirit it's intended--as a way to support better patient care and more compassionate communication going forward. read more

Throwaway account- the medical staff is good bit out of touch with the way the office actually functions and time frames for procedures to be scheduled I called twice to speak to the pain management PA about a medication she ordered and was told I could not, that I had to make an appointment or schedule a telehealth visit. The next telehealth appt would be in several weeks. This is dangerous and unprofessional. I should be able to get a question answered by the PA who treated me. read more

I went to Dr. Amir Mostofi, for my first visit today. Several years ago, a ladder fell straight down upon my wrist. It still bothers me now and then I wondered if I might need surgery. I paid my copay (35.) and waited in the exam room. Dr. Mostofi entered. He was energetic, friendly, allowed for my multiple questions even though I know he was extremely busy. Best of all, he is highly intelligent. Check out his CV. His asst. took an X-ray. The doctor studied the pictures and told me I won't be needing surgery! Great news. I was so grateful to have a really competent doctor see me since, as we all know, some less qualified people have, at times, slipped through. Thank you, Dr. Mostafi. Dr Heinen was very thorough, listened to me and examined X-rays to determine why I was having pain in my leg and knees. He prescribed a anti inflammatory drug, topical cream to ease the pain. He determined my hip and knees were fine, he rotated the knee and explained if I needed knee replacement I would be in a great deal of pain. Knee X-rays and hip X-rays indicated no problems, no arthritis in either location. He recommended I go to physical therapy for back and core strengthening, he felt that could be why I was having pain in my right leg. If that doesn't work the he might inject shots. I was very comfortable with him and appreciated that he took the time to try and find the cause. read more

Came to this office many years ago for a painful ankle and their advice solved the issue fairly quickly. Recently I had a painful knee. Saw Dr. Shah who I liked very much. However, in subsequent visits he brought in a Physicians Assistant. I had a first shot in the knee by Dr. Shah that was painless and very effective. But several weeks later I asked for a second shot due to some extended travel. Dr. Shah had the PA do the shot. She was nice but obviously did not know what she was doing. The doctor had to watch what she was doing and instruct her how to do the shot. Wait a minute - am I a cadaver used for training purposes?? She hurt me and it took several days to subside. I had an MRI done before the next appointment. The same PA walks in. I was really looking forward to hearing a review of my MRI and what to do going forward. She spent a few minutes looking at the MRI result (she obviously hadn't looked at it before). I asked where the doctor was. He wasn't going to make it. After looking at the MRI on the computer, she looks at me and asks, "So what do you want to do?" It was at that point that I stood up and walked out. I have to wonder if Cedar Sinai is pressuring this office to be more profitable, stack up patient appointments (I waited 1 1/2 hours once until I saw the doctor), using PA's instead of medical doctors? And they need a new receptionist. I won't be back. read more

I am giving Risser two stars ONLY because for several years they provided good service to my elderly mother. Then everything changed, and I would give them negative stars if I could. I found them rude, unhelpful, and borderline negligent. My 92-year old mother had been receiving Cortisone shots for her arthritis for several years, but without explanation, Risser suddenly refused to grant her appointments. After several attempts to call and ask why, a lovely scheduler called Mom's doctor and told me that the doctor looked at the most recent x-ray and, because of the cracked femur, the cortisone would do no good. Nobody knew about the cracked femur: not her physician, not her facility, not her emergency contacts, not the patient herself. This was incredibly distressing because the previous x-ray had been taken at least six weeks earlier, and she'd been allowed to use her walker, resulting in several significant falls. We needed more information. I tried to politely contact Risser many times and received no response. I requested the medical records, but found nothing about a cracked femur. After several weeks, I finally reached the doctor's assistant who began the conversation with a brusque, "Why do you keep calling?" The assistant then denied the cracked femur and said that the issue was a "deformity" for which cortisone would also be useless. Confused as to why this deformity appeared in what felt like a sudden manner (as well as why I'd been told it was a cracked femur), I politely asked for more information, but the assistant seemed unable to explain it. My mom is on Hospice, so I gave up dealing with Risser and am just trying to keep her comfortable. I accept that the cracked femur thing could have a misunderstanding/miscommunication between the doctor and the scheduler, but I would have loved a more prompt, polite, and productive response. While I am not a medical professional, I am (as is my mother) well-educated and reasonably intelligent. I did not misunderstand; I was misinformed. I recognize that Risser's focus is not the elderly, and frankly they seemed unwilling or unable to deal with my mother. I also recognize that they are a fairly large institution, so maybe individual patients can get lost in the system. However, I found their rudeness, lack of response, and misinformation quite reprehensible. read more

My son had broken his kneecap and tore a few ligaments and Dr Northrop was amazing. The staff scheduled us in within a few days after ER discharge. He was patient at explaining everything to me pre-op and great at follow up. My son's knee surgery went well. Other than feeling a little rushed to leave from the surgical center, I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. I came here seeking help because I suffer from issues with my tailbone. I have a PPO so I did some research and went with Dr. Pradhan because he seemed top notch. I noticed a lot of comments on here mention his bedside manner, but honestly he just means business and sticks to the important stuff (I'm a surgical tech so I might just be used to doctors keeping it short). Overall, despite the story I'm going to share I do think he seems like he cares about his patients though. I've seen Doctor Pradhan twice and now, but I'm now seeking a second opinion. Initially he told me verbatim "physical therapy is a waste of time for this type of injury so let's get an MRI (he already had my X-rays to view) and then we can talk about a nerve block". Well my MRI results come in and the office NEVER calls me. I had to call and follow up myself, which is an absolute and complete pain in the rear with this office. The hold times are outrageous so plan to spend close to an hour on hold if you call Monday or Tuesday. Anyway, when I call I get told "oh patients are supposed to call us to schedule their follow up after the MRI". Well nobody communicated that to me so I patiently waited for them to contact me once the results had been reviewed. Thank goodness I had the sense to call. So I go in for my follow up visit this week to go over my MRI of my spine. Again, I went for tailbone pain, not issues with any portion of my spine other than my tailbone. Dr. Pradhan tells me how structurally my spine looks great (best MRI he had seen all day he said) and that I should do 6 weeks of PHYSICAL THERAPY to "strengthen the joint". I was so frustrated and confused as to how we took a step back. I questioned how many times I should be going (mind you he told me this was pointless the first time we met) and he told me "as many times as insurance allows. Then uh call us if you need us and we can schedule a Cortisone injection or something". Like WHAT. I was so beyond irritated. Maybe he forgot he told me that or maybe he's trying to put me on this plan so everything is approved through insurance. Either way some acknowledgment on his part of how he said this would be pointless then pushes me off for 6 weeks with a "call us if you need us" would have been nice. So between the office staff being incredibly difficult to get ahold of, their lack of communication, and Dr. Pradhan's inconsistencies I'm sorry to say I won't be back. read more

Doctor was excellent, scheduling policies suck. You will wait weeks for an appointment. if you arrive for that appointment more than 15 minutes late, you will be refused care, regardless of health condition or need, even though the doctor himself is running far behind schedule. Be aware that even if you arrive on time and wait to see the doctor, your allotted time is only 10 minutes with him/her. read more

She explains my conditions in a way I can understand, adjusts my medications as needed, is a great listener, and works with integrity. I am so fortunate to have her and Dr. Myers as my pain management team. I've also had back surgery with Dr. Benjamin Pradhan. He is a great surgeon and really helped me. It took an hour to be seen and by the time the Dr reached me I was only seen for 5-6 minutes and felt rushed since it was the end of the day. I asked if I would get a call back regarding my follow up visit in 2 weeks and they confirmed yes. I never received a call so I tried calling when they open and was told they would call me back. I waited 5 hours and called again and was told they are busy and someone will call me. This did not occur. I tried calling again before they closed and they transferred me to speak with someone and that directed to a voicemail. Another issue was that I received an email regarding having access to my records and creating an account. The email claimed that my invite to access my records is either my birthdate or last 4 digits of my social security and that did not work. The person on the phone said they would relay this issue and someone will reach me. This also did not occur. I've never felt so disappointed, frustrated, and uncared for. I've worked in healthcare for 25 years and have never treated anyone or seen anyone be treated so poorly. read more
