Had 2 microdiscectomies done 3 months ago with Dr. Johnson as my surgeon. Can't say enough good things. Answered all of my questions and even gave me his email so I could ask him anything else that popped into my head in the days leading up to the surgery. Always responded promptly and reassured. I started having lower back pain a few years ago. Was diagnosed as spinal stenosis. I dealt with it via physical therapy and OTC anti inflams. Then it progressed to leg numbness on a regular basis. I found Dr Johnson via reviews and was impressed with his academic background. The MRI showed a cyst lying on my spinal cord which Dr removed with his minimally invasive surgery and expertise. I had the surgery at 8 am and was home walking at noon!!! I have undisturbed feeling back in my leg and back to playing golf 3x a week. I really like Dr. Johnson, I really wanted him to be my doctor. He's young, was very thorough and informative so I'm very disappointed this isn't going to work out. He has an assistant named Crystal who insists she has submitted a request for an epidural or cortisone injection for me. She gave me a reference number; 201211-00030866. I called Blue Cross/Blue Shield and they told ME nothing has been submitted for me. Nothing is pending for me. Keep in mind Blue Cross/Blue Shield has already paid for a $1,500 MRI and 2 different sets of x-rays from 2 different doctors however, Crystal insists she has submitted a request for a cortisone shot and that it is "in review". Blue Cross/Blue Shield says "We don't even know what that means-'in review'". Crystal says the problem is with my insurance company but again, they've paid for 3 different images with no problem whatsoever. I find it hard to believe they're sitting on a request for an injection. I'm not sure exactly where the problem is here but I'm so disappointed. I guess I have to start all over again. ***UPDATE! Walked in this morning at around 10a to pick up my X-rays on a cd. I said to the woman behind the desk, "if I pay cash for the epidural when can you get me in?". She said, "Well is that what Dr. Johnson ordered?". Well, you have a computer in front of you with my file, why not look? Nope. She left the desk, left me in the waiting room staring at the Christmas Tree and never came back. I was willing to pay $1,400 IN CASH for the epidural/cortisone injection and they were NOT interested! FIND ANOTHER PLACE!!*** *+*Saw my new doctor today 12-21-2020. I just switched from Congress medical to Bradley Johnson and all I can say is why didn't I do this sooner! Anyone who is currently at congress medical in Pasadena is well aware of the jam packed waiting room with closet overflowing with computer wires and equipment and the WAIT. Last time I was waiting 1.5 hours and they said there were still 3 patients ahead of me. C'mon. Who schedules like that and during covid? I finally had to say my adieu to Congress and then I researched orthopedics in Pasadena and cane up with dr Johnson. Ucla graduate with 30 years experience! Sold! When you get to his office you will find two spacious waiting rooms and the entire building is spotless, with ample staff and assistants. Crystal was dr Johnson's assistant and that girl was ON THE BALL! She was hustling like I've never seen. So many times you get assistants shuffling their feet in scrubs that you think they just got out of bed and are in their pjs looking for that cup of joe to get em going. Not Crystal! She was getting everything together that my drs office was sending over last minute. We even had to call them up and she was there with me until everything got sent over and scanned in the system for the dr to review. Enter dr Johnson! Helloooo green eye! Ok it's covid so we're all in masks and all I can see are these great green eyes zeroing in on my xrays and sorting out my problem. I appreciate that dr Johnson took a conservative approach first with physical therapy. My last orthopedic just wanted to give me RX of drugs straight away. So big thanks to Dr J for ordering some imaging and getting a closer look first. I'm happy to have found a doc and office and staff this amazing! When you get the whole package it's such a great experience. Sometimes you get a great doc and terrible staff or worse, vice versa. Ha! Not here! Doctor Johnson seems like a nice guy but unfortunately my visit to his office was not the best. I waited for almost an hour before I was called in. I was forced to take X-rays despite the fact that I had taken MRI just 2 weeks ago in which I even brought a copy of the scan to the office. The x-rays carried a hefty price tag but it was especially frustrated when Doctor Johnson did not address the results from these x-rays. I felt really rushed to ask questions and leave the office when I actually met him. The total face to face meeting was less than 15 minutes, yet I was billed for 45 minutes. He ultimately relied on my MRI to diagnose my problem and failed to explain to me the difference between cortisone vs epidural injection. I also didn't appreciate that he didn't ask me too many questions on my symptoms, I felt like I had to be the one to tell him what I thought was wrong with me. Overall, I learned nothing new from this expensive office visit. I trust all his great review and I'm sure they're all true. I think my experience was just a one-off and I don't want to discourage anyone from seeing him. Again, I'm sure he's a great doctor, just not a doctor for me. read more

Seriously, don't go to Dr. Walter Burnham but instead be seen with Dr. Bradley Johnson! I initially was seen by Dr. B back in Dec 2021. I showed up to my appointment on time but it took more than 2hrs to be seen. I kept complaining as to why I'm having to wait and I needed to leave since I had something scheduled, and finally was seen. I had to schedule a follow up app for my MRIs which was on Jan 2022. I came in on time, again had to wait. It was over 1hr and I still was in the lobby, at this point I requested a refund for my copay and left. Amber, whom was professional and nice forwarded my concern to Joe in the billing department. Joe reached out the same day, apologized for my wait times and reimbursed me for my copay. He suggested I see Dr. J, and I accepted and he helped me with setting up my appointment. I finally got to meet Joe to thank him in person and he's extremely professional, and polite. He went above and beyond and waived not only my new office visit copay but also my parking fee. If it wasn't for Joe, I was honestly looking elsewhere for a new doctor. Joe promised and he delivered. He was also correct on Dr. J, as he was on time for my appointment, he was professional, took his time with me, and was easy to talk to and was able to answer all my questions. Dr. Johnson was very patient and Incredibly thorough reviewing my spinal MRI. He took extra care and time explaining in great detail and comparing it with the on-screen, three dimensional model. I had spine surgery in the distant past (L4-5) and a different bulging disc several years ago. This was by far the best explanation of my condition. Dr. Johnson showed my old surgery, the bulging disc and made recommendations. Although he did not recommend surgery, but alternative treatment, if I ever have to have surgery he's my guy. After the exam, we discussed what his initial findings were and that it appears that I have several issues. He suggested that before dealing with my back issues, I should see a hip specialist to address the pain in my hips. After doing that, i'm to return to his office to discuss that treatment and then decide what to do about my back. I saw Dr Johnson for extreme sciatica running down my leg to my foot. I had 3 previous back surgeries back in 2008 that were bungled from a Stockton surgeon. Dr. j reviewed my MRI and told me if he had to operate on me he was confident I would have significant complications due to the scar tissue I have. I left his office with zero confidence in him as it seemed to me he had zero confidence in himself. I saw a Dr at UCSF in may that was confident. He did the same surgery Dr. Johnson would have done with a perfect outcome and ZERO complications. I would recommend you do NOT see dr Johnson if you have any type of complex back surgery needed.
