I was on crutches, so she brought everything over to me, and she asked me to flag her down to pick everything up so I didn't have to struggle with my crutches. I have many medical appointments this last month, and she was the first one who made this very considerate and thoughtful offer. Abram and Alexis helped me with my X-rays. They were both very patient and kind. They made sure to help and support me. They were friendly throughout the process even when I stepped on a button that accidentally moved the bed. They were both very kind. Abigail checked me out. She was very patient in finding appointments that would work for me both as a follow up with Dr. Gipsman and for a first appointment for a second specialist in their office. She was smiling, friendly, professional, and kind. I met with Dr. Aaron M Gipsman to go over the results of the tests for my knee. He had excellent bedside manner. He answered all of mine and my husband's questions. He explained everything to our understanding and satisfaction. He explained everything he was doing during the exam and explained any findings afterward while consistently checking in with me to make sure I was fine. I was so pleased with this visit and team, that I came straight home to write this review. If you need an orthopedic surgeon for your knee, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Gipsman and his team.

I can't thank enough Dr. Billings and Dr. Movasaghi as well as their entire staff (specially Jennifer from PreOp) in helping my surgeries become the success they are and becoming! On late August I had the need to have trigger finger release surgery with Dr. Billings and on December 2nd I had total knee replacement surgery with Dr Movassaghi. And as I recover I would say that my surgeries were a success and becoming a success, all thanks to The attention at the Clinic, and the hospital, the time they took to answer my questions and to make sure that I understood everything that was being said and proposed, and their great efforts and professionalism. I really walked away satisfied and confident That I was in good hands. And I was, now that I can look forward to a full recovery on my knee replacement I like to think that I am in in good hands and I would 100% recommend this team to anyone in need for quality medical assistance. Thank you Team, Thank you Dr. Billings and Thank you Dr. Movassaghi A. Castro 12/2025.

Yes, I highly recommend this practice…read more Risser Orthopedic Group has been absolutely outstanding, and Dr. Mostafi is truly an exceptional hand surgeon. He has helped my father tremendously and continues to care for him with the highest level of expertise and compassion, even after multiple finger amputations due to his underlying medical conditions. To quote a prior reviewer "Why is every Orthopedic office is Pasadena so poorly run? This is the…read moresecond one I've gone to and experienced a poorly run office." It's amazing how poorly run these Pasadena ortho specialists are, almost like they've been trained by experts how to create a process that is as inefficient and ineffective as possible while simultaneously insulting and disrespecting their customers. In this regard, it is an impressive place. Of course, we all know the reason: they make more money by over scheduling -- just like airlines. We all have wishful, aspirational beliefs that doctors' offices are "different" than car dealerships. They aren't: it is always about the money. So, from the general to the specific. This place is typically a nightmare in terms of timing. You really do need to schedule about 3 hours for an appointment. There is limited parking in the building, so expect to park in the adjacent lot (no validation, because that would eat into profits). Once there, you check in. Generally speaking, the staff are about as welcoming and kind as your typical Subway (sorry Subway workers, but you know it's true). You are a widget in their process. Give them your info and wait. A long, long time. Usually about 1 hour. And that's just to get past the front area. Next, they whisk you to an x-ray. Doesn't matter if you need one. Doesn't matter if you want one. Doesn't matter if you already have one. Again, it's about the money. So you get one. And before you do, you wait -- though usually only about 15 minutes here. Then you are put in a room. Yay! You'll see a doctor. Eventually. Sometimes, this room wait is 30 minutes, sometimes an hour. I've actually started to walk out and leave at this point. Finally, you see a doctor. I've seen a few here. I thought Dr. Bradley Johnson was good. He was unhurried. He explained things. He did what he could for me. Dr. Mark Jo is a different story. Same start: he seemed good, seemed unhurried, seemed to explain things. Problem is, he got it all wrong. First, he looked at the aforementioned x-ray and said your knee looks great. No problems structurally. You absolutely can run on it. But let's get an MRI to be sure. You can run in the interim. NOTE: he never touched my leg. He did not do the thing you see all doctors do on live football or basketball games to test the structural integrity of the knee. Ok, no problem, I'll run and get an MRI. I go back a few weeks later with the MRI in hand (and my knee where knees are). After the above-described wait, I get to the doctor portion of the adventure. Dr. Jo says that my MRI shows a moderately sprained ACL -- I should absolutely NOT be running on it, and he's surprised anyone would tell me I should (NOTE: that was him who did the telling). He also says that he's surprised he didn't pick it up on his first examination, you know, when he did the ACL test on my knee. I reminded him he never touched my knee at the first appointment. Oh well. So, great, I now have been running on a sprained ACL, making it worse. But at this point, I'm not really trusting Dr. Jo's opinion. I get copies of the MRI AND the MRI report. I read the report (as a non-MD, it turns out I am nonetheless able to read). Dr. Jo merely quoted the report to me. He didn't actually look at the MRI. Great. So I'm out. I go to another ortho place. This doctor (Dr. Rishi Garg) actually examines my knee with his hands. He also looks at the MRI. Both tests, he says, make it clear that my ACL is totally fine -- actually really good for my age (I later confirm this with an independent radiologist). Dr. Jo was just wrong. All across the board. Ok, so what's the lesson here? Huntington Ortho is a YUGE time suck. They are run like a for-profit business --- because they are one. Don't expect any old-school approach to doctoring here. And, if you get the wrong doctor (e.g., Dr. Jo), your care may be pretty bad.

I am writing this review as a patient who has lived with serious back problems for many years -- so…read morelong, in fact, that at one point I even thought about becoming a doctor myself just to understand what was happening to my body. I have had back problems since I was 16 years old. Over the years, I visited countless doctors, chiropractors, and manual therapists, and I tried numerous devices and treatments for a herniated disc. Eventually, surgery became unavoidable. In 2022, I had my first back surgery with a different doctor. It went well, and I was able to return to my normal life. Unfortunately, after an injury, my same hernia came back. What followed were days of significant pain and sleepless nights after the injury. Fortunately, I was able to get an appointment within a few days, and Dr. Scott Lee immediately prescribed the right treatment to control the pain and stabilize my condition until the day of surgery. From the very first visit, Dr. Lee's professionalism, meticulous approach, and calm confidence immediately earned my trust. He carefully evaluated my condition, ordered updated MRI scans, and clearly explained the treatment options before choosing the best path forward. His manner was reassuring and thoughtful, which made a huge difference during such a stressful time. On the day of the surgery, something really stood out to me: the hospital staff were genuinely excited to be working with Dr. Lee. Everyone I interacted with spoke highly of his skills and reassured me that I was in excellent hands. They were absolutely right. The surgery went smoothly, without any complications. I was discharged about an hour later -- and unbelievably, I walked the very same day with no pain in my legs, feet, or back. That feeling was incredible and truly life-changing. Dr. Lee even personally called me after the surgery to check on my condition, scheduled follow-up appointments, and gave clear advice on recovery and post-operative care. This level of attention and care is exactly what patients hope for -- and rarely experience. I am deeply grateful for the entire process, from my very first call to the office to schedule an appointment, all the way through recovery. I would also like to give special thanks to the office staff, who were always supportive, responsive, and patient in handling my questions and requests. In conclusion, if you are looking for a spine specialist and are unsure where to go, don't hesitate -- go see Dr. Scott Lee. You will be thankful not only to him, but also to yourself for making the right choice.
