They're doing the best they can. The chain is closing and they're trying to get merchandise out on the floor so everyone can find their treasures at a discount. I went in asking if they had any pet costumes and a nice older male worker went in back to look for me. He came back and kindly asked if I could come back in a few days. Apparently they're way up and not easy to reach so he'll need to use a ladder in his spare time. I appreciated his help and honest answer. Even though I didn't shop at a Party City often, I'm still sad because the store/chain is closing and it was great to be able to look/feel/touch costumes, etc. The workers in this store are very helpful too! read more

The rest were on the floor less than 12 hours later. Called to ask for a refund and the employee was rude and wouldn't even offer one but just told me they don't last more than 15 hours. I purchased balloons from here for a party we were having. I had to call in because they don't take walk in orders. I placed an order for 12 balloons. 6 pink, 6 blue. I picked up my order at 1pm on Sunday. I literally walked to the counter, pointed to the balloons and left with them. No one asked to see a purchase receipt or view an ID to make sure my name matched the order. Anyone can walk in there, claim balloons and walk out with them!! I should have checked the balloons before I left. When I got home I found that they only gave me 11 balloons. By the time our party started (4pm) two of the balloons had already deflated. I've never had such good customer service at a retail store. My order was ready early. The employees were so nice when I walked in. And when they saw that a strong wind blew away some of my balloons they ran outside to let me know and that they'd replace them! They went above and beyond the normal customer service which was very appreciated. Highly recommend coming to this location! read more

Good party and holiday supplies though the store isnt as large as its store front makes it appear. The store isn't crowded but the last two times I have visited the check-out line is about 15 people deep! I did visit the last time on a Saturday and then today, the day before Halloween so maybe other days are better. FYI: Don't be naive and think you can just stroll in and pick up helium balloons on a Saturday. You have to have reservations to get balloons. Who Knew!?!? 15 -20 minute check-out is a bit lengthy in my opinion At 3, nothing Halloween was on sale except for orange and black solo cups. read more

I had the most bizarre and unfriendly experience with the management at this location...I went in to by some birthday supplies for my child. When we were done shopping I checked out and waited to have the balloons blown up. Side note: I bought a few packaged balloons and I was was charged an extra dollar per balloon in each package to have them blown up. - don't know why, it's never happened before but ok fine... So the employee starts blowing them up and accidentally pops one. No big deal, accidents happen right? Just go ahead and replace it and blow up another one and give the customer what they paid for right? Wrong, the manager said I would have to buy an entire new package of balloons because it was not their fault and why should they have to be out of the money! Seriously, not only was it poor customer service but this woman had the nerve to tell me that I would have to pay more money for a product I never got. The manager had absolutely no shame, she literally had a bit of a fit and caused a fuss in front of children and other customers over the fact that I expected to get what I paid for... I am surprised the company allows her to still work for them...not only had I just spent about $200 in product now I am being told that the few dollars she may have to loose in product is more important than the customer and the hard earned money I already spent in that location! After 10 minutes with a sneer and no apology for her behavior she told the teenager behind the counter to give her another one. Showing further how little the customer and our business meant to them and the store. Bizarre and terrible experience- oh and did I mention she threw her fit in front of the little Birthday girl... how rude can you possibly get, I won't be shopping there again and if it wasn't for the kids around I would have returned every item and given her a lesson in customer service. read more

Original review: If you want the slowest service possible this is your place. I even tried to plan ahead and call in a balloon order prior to my husband getting there so they'd be paid for and ready upon his arrival. After being put on hold over 10 minutes my husband text me that he was already there. Thanks Party City for employing a bunch of turtles. Next time I need balloons I'll go to Dollar Tree. The staff at this Party City location is AMAZING! I had a big Number 5 Mylar balloon for my son's Birthday Party that had been bought a few months back. When I brought it to Party City to have it filled with helium , we discovered that it had multiple holes. They replaced the big Number 5 balloon for me for free! HORRIBLE Business! Rude staff and Manager If I could give this a negative 5 stars I would. After calling multiple times, I was told I could no longer order from the phone but had to order in the store or online for balloons. OK - I ordered online and had a family member in route the 15 miles to pick up my order for a 60th Wedding Anniversary. 40 minutes after the order was scheduled to be ready, I received an email that said my "order was cancelled" and that "We can no longer offer you a refund as you have cancelled your order outside of Party City's balloon cancellation policy." I did NOT cancel. I called the store and was put on hold 10 minutes. Then put on hold another 10 minutes waiting for a manager. The store ran out of helium. The manager said in order to get my refund, I had to come into the store. By this time, my family member had arrived back home. HORRIBLE and the manager was rude and NOT helpful. Love this party city. Sometimes i take the boys I Nanny here, just to look around and pick out things we would want for birthdays or parties. They have an awesome candy bag deal. $1.00 for 10 candies. The people behind the counter have always been super nice to us and have gone out of there way to see if we ever need help. My grandson wanted ballons for his 7th birthday. We picked out a few and paid $1.29 each to be inflated. We watched as a man took one, blew it up and was then called over to help stack boxes. We waited over 7 minutes, then told the cashier we had ice cream in the car which we would take home and return. 10 minutes later we walked in and saw only 2 balloons were ready. This location is HORRIBLE. I am very big on customer service and let me just say that you will not find anyone helpful at this Party City. I went to get some supplies for some gift bags I was putting together for some preschool children and went here to get some crayons to put in the bags. Simple enough right? WRONG. You would have thought I was asking them to recreate the wheel because each and every person I asked (about 7) gave me a deer in the headlights look. Then they ALL proceed to tell me that they didn't think they carried those. Really? Sooo a party place doesn't carry those crayons that come in a 4 pack? Hmmm...ok. No joke after I asked a group of 5 employees that were standing around a shopping cart full of product (barely putting up anything) I walked like 10 steps (DOWN THAT SAME AISLE) and found the motherload of those 4 packs of crayons. BUUUUUT they had all just finished telling me they didn't carry those right? UNF*#*$ing believable. Then there was what I THINK was a manager (male) not even acknowledging or greeting people as they came in NOR was he helping out any of his employees or calling for backup because there was ONE register open and about 8-10 people in line. They also had two other women at what looked like an open register (because the light was on) that were just on the phone doing who knows what but then when asked by myself (and another woman) if they were open they just replied "no" and went about their business even after we asked why their light was on then. Ridiculous. They should seriously reconsider hiring new (more helpful) employees at this Preston Road location not to mention a refresher in customer service. I will NEVER go to this location again but I will however make sure I pass along my experience here to others. read more

Didn't have time to read the reviews but after what happened to me, i went and read the reviews. Good customer service. But here's the thing. I bought 3 balloons with high helium. As I'm about to drive away one of the balloons totally lost air and didn't realize what happened until i checked in the back. Imagine that going off while I'm driving. Went back to the store to have the balloon re-heliumed if that's the right word. Said my peace and went back to work. It was for my boss'birthday. Imagine the fright on my boss face when one of the balloons popped on her face! I really ought to sue the store! I had many witnesses on my floor. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I went to there and bought my daughter a Nemo balloon on Thursday night. But on Friday afternoon it shrank about 20%. I went back on Saturday afternoon and told the cashier what happened. She said 99 cents for reinflating. Excuse me? I told her it's definitely not about the inflation, it's about the balloon. Then she told me I can get a new one. All right, that sounds reasonable. I said I still want a Nemo. And she said OK, $5.99 + tax please. Finally I realized she never thought about a return or replacement for a BAD item they sell. I said I want a refund, and she said no we don't refund balloon. I asked to talk to a manager. The manager said sorry and promised to give me a new one for free. So after 15 min conversation I finally get a new balloon home. Guess what? Three hours later, It shrank about 20% again. How can they sell such terrible goods? I absolutely will dispute the transaction and if the credit card company doesn't support me I will BBB it. read more

Sorry I have to give this place a single star. Poorly run. Kids have control of the place and don't have a clue. So after a New Years Eve that consisted of ice in the forecast and then the household getting sick, I attemp to return items not used. When you look at the receipt it says unopened packages with receipt is acceptable - I had all of that. But apparently not New Years Eve. That is bad enough, but the waiting I'm line forever and the rude customer service is service as usual for them. Amazon will get my business in the future. Unbelievably bad customer service. I was the only person waiting 1 foot away from two ladies blowing up balloons and not one of them acknowledged me. The line now had 7 customers waiting and I was made to go to the very back of the line just to buy the balloons when I was the only customer up front in the first place! To add insult to injury... The staff let yet another customer pick out balloons and put them in line... but I was not even allowed to do that. If I didn't need those balloons so quickly, I would have walked out. I went to try on and buy a Halloween costume. It took me 20 minutes to find someone to get my costume from the back. They are dreadfully understaffed. The costume that they finally got me was missing half of the parts and was ripped down the front seam. Would recommend not getting Halloween costumes here, it's a mess. read more
