Omg! I love how big this location is and I will definitely come back. They are fully stocked on every isle, and I came in to see what goodies I could find for the holidays. The store is clean and in order. The cashers and staff are friendly and helpful. I got some items I was looking for on a good deal they had going on in the store at the time. COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. Some of the staff also wear gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. While I was here doing some shopping in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: In this shopping center, there are plenty of parking spots, so you don't have to worry about parking at all. Prepandemic parking was a breeze. I never really worried about parking except during the holiday season. Black Friday parking can be a pain. But during the pandemic, there are a lot of spots available. The spots are pretty big and wide. You don't have to worry about people dinging your car. Store: The store here is well organized, tidy, clean, and neat. The aisles are a bit wide. Everything is placed in a manner that makes sense. If you choose to order online, curbside pick up is available. Staff: The staff here are very nice and helpful. She ate the entire time she was ringing me up, and with a very full mouth she was talking to others working there and using profanity. I had to remind her to give me a bag and my receipt. We popped in this morning hunting for decorations to properly dress our son Xavier's surprise Release the Peaches party. We were quite excited to find plates, bowls, and napkins in the 2019 Pantone Color of the Year: Living Coral. While there, we picked up a few fun items for our Oscar Party tomorrow - they have wonderful table decorations in gold and black and Hollywood Walk Stars that can be personalized. St. Patrick's Day, Mardi Gras and Easter items are already fully stocked and ready to go. Since they closed down the Monrovia location this is the Party City I come to. Out of all the times I've been here I had never had an issue with anything (staff, products, etc). Everyone is usually nice & helpful. BUT....the last time I was here....I was disappointed by the way the "manager" (which wasn't a manager cause her badge says "lead" NOT the SAME thing) treated me. The Thursday before Halloween I went to buy stuff for a party I having that weekend. I bought a lot of stuff $$$$ & spent a good amount of money. Among those items were an order of a balloon bouquet for delivery & a floral headband. During checkout the cashier did NOT mention the headband was final sale. I've ever been to a store that doesn't mention it's final sale during checkout. That cashier though was nice and friendly. But she did forget to mention that important detail. I come home & realize I have the same headband I had bought last year at Party City. The next day, Friday, I go back to buy more items I need for my party. When I get called to pay I put down the items that I'm purchasing & take out the headband from the bag. I tell the cashier in a nice and friendly way that I want to return this item. Right away she gives me attitude & says, "I can't do that because it was final sale." I proceed to tell her I wasn't told it was final sale & had literally just bought it the day before. She then mentions again that it was final sale & that there's nothing she can do. Again I explain to her I was there the night before & I purchased more items, but was never told it was final sale. She starts getting annoyed and says she can't do that because it was a final sale. At this point I asked her if I could speak to a MANAGER & she says, "I am the manager." Her name badge said, LEAD, reason why I asked for a manager. I didn't want to argue about titles with her so I just dropped that. I take out my receipt & hand it to her so she can see I was there the night before and everything else I bought. She takes it and again not willing to help says, it was a final sale & wouldn't be able to process a return or exchange. Then she unfolds the receipt and starts looking at it. She asks about the balloon order, which I don't know what that had to do with the headband issue. And all of a sudden says, I can't give you cash, but I can give you credit. I tell her I don't need the cash I don't want money back I have stuff I'm buying that day too. She looks at the items (I placed on the counter) that I'm clearly about to purchase & asks, "are you buying those?" OMG....the question. Lol. Like no girl I just wanted to drop them off at the counter for you. Ay ay ay. Lol I tell her that I am purchasing those items and she says she can do an exchange. It really made me feel like the only reason why she did the exchange was because I had spent a decent amount of money the day before. She changed her mind after seeing my receipt. What if I hadn't spent that much on Thursday when I bought the headband? Was she not going to do the exchange? Party City, if something is FINAL SALE....make sure you tell people that before they pay & walk out with the items! Either way customer service from that team lead could be better. I understand it was super busy that day literally a day before Halloween parties, but treating customers like that is not acceptable. If you're having a bad day you can't take it out on your customers. I've worked in customer service & that is not acceptable. read more

I don't even know where to begin. Went to pick up an online order, waited in line, gave my info, waited off to the side for my order. Then I got to watch the manager BERATE the young man who brought it to me "Now take the yellow receipt! You NEVER take the yellow receipt!" Poor kid! Closest Party City location in the area I live. Every time I come, I am so surprised how packed it is. There are always people getting balloons. Well organized aisles. Everything is usually broken down by color or character. Big Halloween selection for costumes and decorations. Located in the back end of this huge plaza. This plaza is always packed so parking can be difficult sometimes. Line usually moves pretty quickly. Order online with the coupons they offer and do store pick up if you want to save some money! read more

I came here with my child during Halloween, and it was really fun. They got all those mechanical, scary costumes and creatures on display, with all the bells and whistles. I thought it was a good setup. They separate all the usual plates and napkins according to color in the other aisles, and the main portions are for seasonal items, like Halloween. Boy do they have a ton of costumes available on the wall- and then you just pick the number & telll the staff and then they'll go get the costume for you so you can try it on. The changing room, it is like a stall with a curtain, so be careful. I make it a point not to try on any wigs or hats, because my friend from the inland empire got lice from trying on a hat at party City. I'm in no way saying that this party City location has lice, I'm just saying that you don't know who tries on what as patrons here. Overall, we got exactly what we came for, Halloween decorations and fun little party favors. Their marketing department is very smart, because they put all these cute little necklaces, candies, and toys in the checkout area when you wait in line for the cashier, and the kids love it. Not sure why the reviews for their customer service wasn't great. I don't go to Party City often but when I do, I get great service. For example yesterday while shopping for Halloween decorations, I didn't expect to buy much but when my hands were full, one of the staff gave me a hand cart to put my items in. Great service! Also, the staff at the register was very nice and polite. Even when we decided to return something the same day we bought it, no issues whatsoever. This location had better service than the one in Alhambra. Great selection of products as well from costumes to party decorations as well as easy to find parking. I bought a brand new costume from Party City and when I opened the bag I found the costume was used and had 3 buttons missing plus there was a wrapped pad inside the plastic costume bag. Super gross! I took it back to the store to return the item and the employees claimed they had a strict no refund policy with costumes, but I'm pretty sure they just didn't believe me. Trust me if I could wear and keep the costume I would, but finding a stranger's pad in a new costume is gross and that's on Party City. I was treated like absolute garbage here. The manager, I regret not getting her name, has zero customer service skills, does not enjoy her job, and is extremely rude and unkind. I placed a large balloon order for pick up 2/13/2021 for my daughters birthday. I received a voicemail that said "Hi I am Juliana (not sure if this was the manager), I am calling from Party City regarding the order you placed. Unfortunently we do not have the Teddy balloons you ordered, so we went ahead and cancelled your order." I called the store not understanding why my order would have been cancelled when only 2 out of 30 balloons were out of stock. I called and got a manager and she said "we only cancelled those two balloons, the rest of your order is ready for pickup". I thank her and let her know the confusion over the message saying my order was cancelled. She then starts to argue with me, "did the message specifically say the entire order was cancelled, or just that those 2 balloons were cancelled?" The message didn't say either, it just said my order was cancelled. I think anyone would have thought the exact same thing as I had. "But it didn't say the entire order was cancelled correct?". I don't understand where her aggressiveness came from, I wasn't aggressive or upset with the misunderstanding. I get to the store, and remember she said my order was ready, I get to the store about 15 minutes before the pick up time I selected. I walk up to the balloon area as she is getting balloons tied. She doesn't acknowledge me, she actually started talking to another employee. I said "excuse me, do I come here or go to the cashier for a balloon pickup?". She doesn't look up and answers "you can pick up here or there". I respond oh perfect and wait. She goes back to talking. I start to fidget looking back at the cashier line trying to decide if I should just go there because she's ignoring me. She annoyingly looks up "what's the name?". I respond and she says "oh yeah, YOU!". "it's not ready yet, because you chose 6:30 pickup." I explain that the only reason I am there a little earlier is because she told me my order was ready for pickup. She says "yeah" and walks away. The other employee filling the balloons, sweet as can be, asked me a few questions on strings and how I'd like them tied and said she'd have them ready soon. I let her know it's no problem and I'd walk around for a moment. I walk around got about 5 minutes, head back to the balloon station and wait. Wait, wait, wait... it's now past 6:30. I ask as I noticed my balloons seemed to not be there. And was told "they've been ready, over at the front". I just don't understand why I was treated poorly repeatedly. I spent $65 on balloons, do I not get customer service with that purchase? All the employees were very kind other than the manager. They all looked equally as uncomfortable with her as I was. If she treats customers that's way I can't imagine how she treats the employees. As I was walking out she was rude to another man asking about rose pedals "sir, every store is sold out, it's the day before Valentine's Day", as she walks away. I understand it's a busy day, I understand it's stressful, I understand that you may not like your job and you don't have any other options at the moment. But show up to work and at least try to treat customers with some respect, it is our patronage that keeps the business going. 2 stars for the balloons, they are beautiful. We initially purchased 10 balloons with helium for our wedding. We were assured by the front end staff that we could have someone else pick them up for us on our wedding day and all they would need to have is our name. When our friend went to pick up the 10 balloons the cashier stated he would need a copy of my wife's driver's license or a copy of the receipt. He had to call me and my wife during our wedding day to get a copy of a driver's license to pick up 10 balloons. Wish they would retrain their front end staff to have a more consistent policy in place and not get on their high horse over product that had already been purchased. We have picked up several orders from them in the past and never had an issue. We will not be conducting business with them again. All of this over a 10 balloon order...shame. read more

This is my go to for my kids bday parties. There was no greet when i walked through the door. Yes, they are a little pricey and I do take out the merchandise as I walk closer to the cash register. I came in for goodie bags, candy straws, and lanterns for my sons 5th bday this wknd. I got everything on my list and I got some ideas as to what to put in the goodie bags. I was asked if I needed help when one of the workers saw me looking for something. Not a wide selection of party favors for my sons Super Mario Bros theme which was a little disappointing. They had a wide selection of mylar balloons and an assortment of goodie bags in every color as well as candy but their stuff is overpriced. Overall, this shopping trip was alright. Terrible service (every time). I went in store to buy balloons. I specifically asked for the larger sized balloons and pointed directly at them. They blew up the smaller one. After telling them they were incorrect, they told me I would have to buy it again or proceed w/ the smaller balloons because it's already blown up. I understand helium isn't cheap but being told I would have to pay an additional $30 for something that wasn't my fault was disappointing. Online system is very easy to use and has pictures of the color of balloons that makes it easier to visualize what colors to go with. Balloons were ready upon arrival. Because I've been in there and experienced what can only be called a complete and utter lack of a sense of urgency for the sake of meeting customer needs. Granted, the employees are mostly high school and college kids who will move on from the dauntless shackles of the workaday retail minimum wage, no-benefits job market to the exciting world of "three decade middle management cubicle jockeyhood." But still, you would think management would be able to find the occasional go-getter with a compassionate heart and a speedy gait for the late-planning parent, trying to buy Elmo balloons for a party that starts in 35 minutes, and we haven't even picked up the frickin' cake yet. No, these kids have one speed, and there's no toggle. If you're ever in the East Pasadena area and you have some time to kill, go in there and ask them to solve some "which is a better deal" math problems. Hilarity ensues when they start trying to collaborate before accepting abject failure and trying in vain to poker face their way through what is at best a wild shot in the dark guess. Yeah, I know... Cool Halloween costumes when your wife or girlfriend just HAS TO BE "Naughty Ironman" to your office party. But waiting in that line to check out, you'll be lucky to make it to Thanksgiving before your dad and mother in law start fighting over whether James Cagney was a Nazarene or a Methodist. So the learning for you is simple: plan ahead, and visit when you have lots of time... Place was out of control New Year's Eve. I guess that's too be expected... My friends had ordered 3 dozen gold & black balloons for their NYE party and I took my truck to pick them up. Like I said, the place was a madhouse. The area to pick up the balloons looked to be in the same line as the checkout. So it felt like you were cutting the line. This Party City is bigger than the one in the Los Feliz area. I think they'd be better served if their cash registers and balloon areas were on the opposite ends of the front area. It's certainly big enough. Good place to get those inexpensive wine & champagne plastic flutes. They have them in different colors in the 2nd aisle to the right when you first come in. This store is a deep space. Easily has everything you need to throw a properly decorated party. Just don't go on NYE. Trust me. read more

Party City in Pasadena is just ok in comparison spot the other locations I have been to. The sales associates are not as knowledgeable as they should be. I asked an associate if they had any latex balloons that say happy birthday on them. He showed me the section where all the balloons were and said no this is all we have. I started looking down other aisles and found under each individual theme they had latex balloons that said happy birthday. The only good thing about this location is that they are never out of helium for the balloons like some of the other locations I have been too. read more
