I had the best customer service experience from beginning to end. I booked in January and my event was in May. From the very beginning, the owner Shun Lewis communicated with me. I kept asking questions and she was very patient with me. She gave me suggestions when I wasn't sure about things. The day of the event, I had a few issues and she was there to keep me calm and to ensure me that every thing would be alright. A few of my guests mentioned how she went around and ask if they were comfortable with the room temperature and I felt that was sweet of her to think of the guests like that. Shun is very detailed on what is required at her premises and she makes sure you have a good understanding and I love that. She has a wonderful personality and is very professional. She is family now. Trust me when I tell you, this is a great place to hold any event. You will not be disappointed.

(Inside micromanaging) -Charged for every little thing they could find so that they can keep your deposit -Were told to hire bartenders to serve alcohol. Selena show was pretty good but Negami was wonderful. Took many of us back to the old school days of tejano music. Special performance from two original members of the Latin Breed. If you ever get a chance to see them, do so. They won't disappoint. The band gave out tickets to another event later this month for those that danced during the show. This art center is hoping to bring bigger and better things to the Eastside of Houston. I'm glad to have come to this event and look forward to all their other events. The place is still very much looking like a church on the outside (the sign is just a banner for now), but the space is very large and there are numerous bathrooms, which are both huge pluses! Our event had a bar and food for sale. The sound system was awesome! There were many volunteers to help, but getting in and getting tickets needed a bit of work. Overall we had a great time here & recommend the space for all sorts of events!

It ruined all our hard work we did on setting up. Her staff had to dry everything while my guest waited. I had called Linda to change my start time to later and she had the audacity to give me a hard time but finally agreed! It ruined the party vibes! And we noticed mouse droppings in the kitchen, glad we had our event catered by someone else. And to make maters worse when we were leaving heard gun shots from bar a few buildings over. This area and place is ghetto, wish we had paid attention to the details when we went to see it. Never again!!

Particles were in our pitcher of Sprite and when we brought it back to the concession counter we got another dumb look. Also, the bathroom sink was not working. We went on a Saturday; around 5:45PM they began turning lights off and everyone was asked to exit because they were closing for reserved parties. The old converted rice mill sits on 7 acres and has plenty of interesting attractions. When we first arrived for our event, I had been warned by one of my friends that there was a person on the street trying to charge for street parking. If you go around to the back of the silo, there is a fairly large, unpaved parking lot that is free. Be careful if your car sits low to the ground because it is pretty rough terrain ....but it's free. For the ladies, of you choose to wear heels please beware as the path from the parking spot, across the train tracks and to the entrance can feel like a mini obstacle course. Once we got in, I only got to see two spaces. The main entrance area has an old automobile graveyard in the back corner thar is worth checking out. The second area featured a very high stage great for a live band or dj. The Silo is definitely a unique event venue worth visiting.

I really like the old busses, raised stage and other cool pieces throughout the location but did not really like that it had no lighting and limited portapotties(gross!) I was torn between 3 and 4 stars but the parking lot has been in poor condition for a few years now.. hopefully it will be tended to soon so I can leave !!
