I just ate at parsons bakery for the first time. I stopped in to try something new after work. The food was great, but the front of the house had poor attitudes. I realized as I left that they would be closing any minute, so they were probably inconvenienced by that. My frustration is going into a place after a long day to grab dinner and I get petty judgement and annoyance. I assume the owner works hard and deserves to know how they are being represented. read more

You ever stumble upon a gem hidden in a strip mall. A place so good that you do not want to share? Looking around, parking far away so no one sees you going in? THIS. THIS is that bakery. Good grief. If you're addicted to carbs, to sweets, to bread, to cookies, to cakes or to odors so amazing they make you float in on a cloud. Their croissant bun pastry made with browned butter. Uh browned butter? What unicorn is this? Just buy it. Write me back and let me know if this was as magical to you as well as me. The oatmeal cookie was sublime. Typically oatmeal cookies taste like you're eating a slightly spiced piece of cardboard. There were other insanely delicious desserts raspberry filled cookies, I'm shedding a tear knowing they are so close! The bran muffins. No, I don't NEED the fiber in my diet. LOL. It was so delicious not like you're eating congealed sand. Now. Service. Really really nice counter staff, very knowledgeable, almost as if they had personally tasted every item. Life goals. The best scones I have ever had were in Dublin, Ireland. As far as the best scones in Salt Lake I would have to say Parson's bakery does a great job. A little on the sweet side but really good. The service could use a bit of help. Not the friendliest but considering it is a few stores down from another review I did leaves me to think it could be the area. Parson's has been around ever since I can remember. The doughnuts are good, but I've had better. My wife loves Parsons and so do many other people. I would suggest you try it, but just make sure you have the proper expectations when you go. read more

These doughnuts are AMAZING! So soft, I had a chocolate doughnut with chocolate and maple swirl frosting and it was so moist and fresh. My husband had the chocolate with chocolate frosting that was equally delicious. I will most definitely be back! Stopped by this afternoon and was delighted to see that they still had a wonderful selection of yummy treats. The hardest part is figuring out what you want and how many calories your hips can take. I decided on the yummy german chocolate cookie, chocolate/maple glazed cake donut and frosted raisin cookie. The best of the lot is hands down - the german chocolate cookie. Well I love the food at Parsons. The best mint brownie I've ever had. So I hate to give anything but a 5 star, but I had a pretty sketchy experience yesterday. Me and some friends ordered soup. They poured my bowl and went to scrape the bottom of the crock pot for my friends bowl. The lady spilled on the counter a few times and scraped the soup off the counter into his bowl of soup. SICK!! When my friend said " ya know what I think I want a different soup" she got really irritated. Then when my kids where eating the delicious donuts I bought them they found a hair. If she was willing to scrape soup off the counter onto my soup while I'm watching what are they willing to do when I'm not watching. Just grossed me out and I love their food. read more

Best doughnuts I've had since my childhood, living in Northern CA. I've been in multiple times, and this morning I went in 10 minutes after they opened. My cinnamon twist was very warm and delicious! What used to be a hidden gem is now the worst bakery around. An 8in single layer birthday cake cost almost $20 but tasted like it came from a box. It was dry, grainy and overall disgusting. The frosting wasn't much better. Nasty taste, poor quality, waste of time. You are better off going to Mrs. Backers Bakery in SLC. They cost more, but you won't be disappointed on your birthday like I was. read more

By far the best bakery I have ever eaten at. Ever. Their donuts are all good, but especially their cake donuts. Their sticky rolls...I nearly died of happy. They also have delicious eclairs, pretzel buns, scones, cinnamon rolls, cookies, orange rolls, mint brownies. It's all amazing, very decently priced, and the staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. They also give you a 5% discount if you pay with cash. My husband and I live down south, and we make up excuses to drive up to Bountiful just so we can go here. read more

First off their parfait cookies and their german chocolate cookies are the bees knees. Most recently I ordered some special cupcakes for my son's baseball team. I wanted half orange frosted and half black frosted for the team's colors. They took my order politely. This morning I received a call and they suggested that black frosting wouldn't taste very good in that amount. They came up with a great suggestion of orange frosting with black sprinkles. I really appreciated that they warned me about the taste of the frosting and came up with a solution that still had the team colors in mind. That is service. read more

7:30 in the morning on a Friday and doughnuts were not out in the cases so the sales girls essentially had to tell every customer what was available. When my doughnuts were bagged, they were still so fresh that the frosting was gooey and the grease was dripping from the bottom. Taste was not much better than the doughnuts at Smith's. Love this bakery. I lived in Bountiful for 10 years and frequented this bakery often. Then we moved out of state. We continued to stop at Parson's whenever we passed through the area. The quality and value cannot be beat. We now live within 50 miles again and bought a birthday cake there the very first month back. Some of my personal favorites include the eclairs and german chocolate cookies. My kids always loved the dinosaur cookies. Even my older kids who are now married stop in when they are in town. I just wish they would franchise further north. I have looked for a comparable bakery ever since we moved away and have never found anything close. Excellent, excellent bakery. read more
