It's too bad the service has gone downhill over the last year or so. The pastries are good but not worth being treated like you are an inconvenience to the owner (I believe she is the daughter of this family owned establishment). Every time I come in here lately the customer service is lacking. No friendly greeting and no thanks for my patronage. Today I waited for several minutes with no staff to be seen. Other customers walked out empty handed as I waited patiently. Then said young lady appears talking on her cell phone and she ask if I needed something. No apology for the wait. She rushes me through my choices with asking if that was all after every single selection! It's too bad since I intended to purchase much more for an upcoming Labor Day gathering. I paid and left. Not a single thank you. Last week, the same young lady proceeded to help customers who arrived after me to the pastry counter by telling me (not asking if I would mind) that she would be right with me as soon as she helps the other customers with their "quick" purchases. I normally would not mind however I was yet again met with dismal customer service. No greeting, a rushed interaction, a snooty demeanor, and not a single thank you after spending a large sum. She behaves as though the customer is an inconvenience to her and you as the customer are privileged to be able to purchase her pastries. These are just two examples of my most recent experience with this bakery. The business is expanding with an addition of a sit down cafe. I think maybe they have taken on more than they can handle and unfortunately the customer service is suffering as a result. I will no longer give them my business or referrals. There are far too many options in Northern Virginia area to settle for this type of treatment.

A very nice and affordable bakery in McLean. They have a lovely cookie selection and you can purchase cookies for a platter very reasonably.

Great little bakery & Iranian grocery. The baklava is very good (Turkish style), as are the coconut macaroons.

This little gem in McLean has delicious fresh baked goods (the baklava is fantastic) and friendly service. I wish I lived close by because then I would go all the time.

Today was the first time that I had an opportunity to visit this brand new bakery located in Mclean. They specialize in persian delicacies, bit I also found out that they offer a variety of European pastures as well. The nice person behind the counter told me that they have their own bakery and kitchen located downstairs in the basement. After he told me that, I started to wonder how many other bakeries actually prepare and bake their own pastries When you walk into the store, you are able to see their wonderful displays of exotic food items like, sauces, jellies, and some other European canned food goods. I splurged a little bit this afternoon and ordered 12 macarons and 6 cream puffs. These were all Persian delicacies. I actually tried one of the blue sorry macarons on the way to the car, and it was pure deliciousness!

Omg FANTASTIC sweet treats from Parsa Bakery. I stopped in today for the first time and chatted with the owner. I asked her to load me up with a few of her favorites that i was bringing home to share and all got rave reviews. I especially loved the cream puff and the pistachio baklava (I think it was). Family couldn't get enough of the roll shown on the right. Such a great local business to support and they also had a guitarist/singer there setting a great vibe!

Absolutely obsessed! Found this little "gem," in McLean while searching online for a local Persian Bakery. I needed to bring dessert for a Persian dinner party, and happened to find Parsa Bakery. Not only were the pastries to die for, they were so delicious, and a big HIT! Thank you Parsa Bakery-the staff there was super welcoming, sweet, and super helpful in creating such a beautiful dessert box. I also grabbed some Iranian saffron, which I can't wait to use for my famous paella.

While I was on travel my colleague purchased a cake from L'Atelier and today we served it at an event. The cake itself was custom decorated including printed logos (this was a corporate event after all). I assume the printing was done on fondant, but I'm not positive. Fondant can be controversial, and if it was fondant it was definitely not an egregious amount. The presentation was exquisite; on it's own serving platter protected by a crystal clear plastic square box - NOT a clamshell - that was then secured with an elegant ribbon. It was presented almost as one would a piece of jewelry. It was accompanied with a lovely fold-out sharing some inspirational background of Founder and Chef Marie Axelle. Exceptional presentation. Now, the cake itself ? PHENOMENAL. I have enjoyed my fair share of cake in my life - this is immediately evident upon meeting me in person. In fact, my own mother used to make custom cakes when I was younger, and I have constant access to extremely high quality cuisine including yes more deserts than I really should consume. Presentation is one thing, but if the food doesn't back it up then it's just pretense and not real quality. This cake 100% backed up the presentation ! It was surprisingly moist, making me wonder if perhaps pudding was mixed in, and the icing was just perfectly sweet enough - not overly sweet. We had a large group of people enjoying this cake, with many comments on how good the cake was, and grown adults taking slices home. That's when you know it's good :) My hat is off to Ms. Axelle, and the fine cake she presented that made an important day even more special. Thank you L'Atelier for your support, and proud to support you. Sadly because this was as private event I can't include pictures ... you'll just have to order your own !

First I was greeted by a customer while I was reading the outside sign on a pumpkin spicy latte, a customer that was leaving stopped and turned and explained it was everything and do good and if I have not, I must as they put actual pumpkin puree inside not just that pump pump stuff. So I was sold walking in. Next up was home made cookies making ice cream sandwich's by the front door. before I could even get through the line to the front, I was greeted with more baked goods, cupcakes, scones, macroons, dog biscuits - normal biscuits! So I went to town ordering a variety being asked by my lil and my inner child. While sipping on my now, pumpkin spiced latte from here, I saw actual meals being served and I missed out on ordering sandwiches from the back :( Something I will be coming back for! I did get up and order more things, like a fall inspired cookie ice cream sandwhich, all alone by itself in a sea of other flavors, I had to rescue it. And the sour macrons! When did that become a thing??? They were so good and perfect for our movie night later that day. I'm very happy to have stumbled across this find.
