I was originally going to give this car wash a 3/5 star Yelp rating but I bumped it up to 3.5/5 because some workers cleaned the inside of my car for me. I gave a cash tip to those workers. I would rate the outside car wash (hot wax) as a fair experience because the machine cleans the outside of a car but not exceptionally. My car did look shiny after the car wash. The exterior of my car was still left with smudges and dried bird poop was left on my car. I was hoping the hard stains including the bird poop would be taken off but the car wash machines are not strong enough. A friend mentioned that I will need to go to a car detailing place to really have all the hard stains scrubbed and removed off of my car. After going through the automatic car wash, I was able to vacuum and wipe down the inside of my car myself. On the day I visited, there were extra workers who were available to help me wipe down the inside of my car which was nice service. Overall, if you have hard stains on your car, I wouldn't recommend Waterway Express or any machine car wash. However, customer service here in my personal experience is a 5/5 but the actual car wash, at least just the hot wax option, is a 3/5. There was a long, long line when I went, but with three self-payment terminals the line consistently moved. The terminals were super easy to use and take credit card. There was a staff person to direct you into the wash which I think is important and is one reason I never use unattended gas station car washes - I don't trust myself to not mess up my tire when lining up with the track that pulls your car through. So that was a plus and the staff person sprayed down the rear of the car with a power washer hose. There are a lot of add ons on the car wash offers when you buy a single wash. For example, I chose the 2nd level wash ($13) because compared to the lowest level wash ($10) the 2nd level included bottom cleaning. However as I was checking out I was prompted to pay an additional $2 for a higher pressure bottom cleaning. Usually, I'm all for upsells, but in this case I think it undermines the wash. I would much rather just pay $15 than $13 plus $2. When would I ever want half as good a job done on my car? I love the idea of a membership, and the prices of those here are fair in my opinion. The only thing that kept me from giving a 4 and from signing up for a membership was that the blow dryers as usual did not do a 100% perfect job. If there was just a staff person to dry that would be perfect and I'd sign up for a membership for sure.
