We scheduled a service appointment for an assessment/inspection of our air conditioning unit to diagnose an issue and determine whether repairs were needed. During the visit, the technician performed repair work, including replacing wiring on the unit. No member of my household authorized repairs, approved an estimate, signed a work order, authorization form, or invoice. We were subsequently charged and required to pay immediately. Following the service call, we never received an invoice or documentation supporting the charges. I contacted the company multiple times requesting an invoice and to speak with management. My first two attempts were unsuccessful. It was not until I informed the receptionist that I intended to file a complaint, that management finally returned my call. I requested that management contact me directly, as I was handling the matter. Instead, Daniel Neubaue, contacted my husband, who then had me speak with them. During that conversation, management did not provide a name to me, which I now know is Daniel Neubaue, and stated that repairs had been made, which was the reason for the charge. Throughout the conversation, the Daniel Neubaue was rude, dismissive, and repeatedly interrupted me. Rather than addressing my concerns regarding the lack of authorization, he repeatedly attempted to justify the charges by stating that repairs had been completed. I acknowledge that I raised my voice out of frustration, from Daniel Neubaue continuously interrupting me. Only to then be told that I was the one not acting appropriately. I explained that I had not used vulgar language, was not being condescending, and had repeatedly asked him to stop interrupting me. There was no acknowledgment from Daniel Neubaue that performing and charging for repairs without authorization was improper. When I expressed concern that failing to provide an invoice was unethical, the manager argued with me rather than addressing the issue. I informed Daniel Neubaue that I have video footage of the interaction between my husband and the technician, which shows that no authorization was signed or verbally provided for repairs to be performed. Daniel Neubaue stated that the company would issue a refund and send someone to retrieve the materials that had been installed. Due to Daniel Neubaue's constant interruption, dismissive and unprofessional conduct, it became impossible to have a productive discussion. I did not feel comfortable continuing the conversation. I informed him that I would be filing a complaint with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and ended the call. I still have not received any invoice, work order, estimate, or other documentation related to the service call. ***Update: Following up on my call, my husband contacted them again regarding our missing documentation. Only then was it discovered that the receptionist had misspelled our email address. This mistake occurred despite me verifying our email address on roughly four separate occasions.** Wisconsin consumer guidance states that businesses may not charge for unauthorized goods or services under Wis. Stat. § 100.195 Update: Black-Haak has made zero effort to resolve this issue, which stems far more from management than the technician. Once again, they are completely ignoring customer complaints. I have received no response to any of my reviews across multiple platforms, and management continues to ignore inquiries from both the WI DATCP and the Better Business Bureau. As a fellow veteran, I expected far better decorum and integrity from a veteran-owned business. The way management handles customer grievances is utterly unacceptable. read more

I would consider this primarily Italian I've been a couple of times and one night the restaurant was lit up and lots of groups & fun. Another night it was almost empty, with low lighting and a date night vibe including candles on the table. I had the lasagna. The portion was just perfect and it was delicious. I would say the menu isn't huge so check it before you go to make sure there's something you like as they have pasta dishes but seem mainly geared towards pizza. This was a great spot! I was staying at a hotel near by so I could easily walk here from lunch. I love that they have a build your own pizza so I got pepperoni with goat cheese and hot honey, super tasty. Service was quick but not very attentive for such a small place, I didn't get a refill on my water even though there were only two other tables. Neapolitan style pizza! The crust had a nice chew and char. We had the pesto and pistachio and it was a flavorful combination. We had the goat cheese appetizer. Here for lunch. First thought was that it was a little pricey for lunch. They don't have a lunch menu. Serving size was large (will get 2 meals out of it). It came with a small salad that wasn't listed on the menu, so that was a nice surprise. Food was good, but needed to be sent back as it was not hot through (wood fired lasagna). Service was fine. It seems that the positive reviews for this place are about the pizza. We ordered pasta instead, so maybe that was our mistake. The pasta and sauce were lukewarm, and it didn't help that the cheese on top was already ice cold. The flavor was mediocre. The meatballs were overcooked and hard in spots. The chairs are too low for the tables. Other reviewers claim there was ambiance, which puzzles me. I saw stacks of Jolly Good soda cases, a jumble of alcohol bottles, and a stack of recipe books on the counter. We won't go back. read more

Recently just had a child start college in Oshkosh and of course, checking out all the restaurants there. Yelp is always my go to with checking out restaurants in the area and definitely had a check out this menu. Was finally able to stop there and definitely was not disappointed. They have a wood fire stove there for fresh pizzas and had to try an appetizer. It is a smaller place, so not sure how it would be during the dinner time rush. We went at lunch and very cute inside. We ordered one of their specialty pizzas, which was a pear one and absolutely amazing and the other we created our own! Definitely will be going back when we get up there. read more

Excellent food! The photos of the wood fired pizzas drew us in, the food will keep us coming back! The caprese salad was amazing, with the buttery burrata taking it over the top. The salad was a wonderful compliment to the two wood fired pizzas we ordered - the Paul and the Sue. The crust is light and crispy and very flavorful. The food came out quickly, which was a nice surprise. Our only recommendation would be more comfortable chairs. The narrow metal chairs are quite uncomfortable. The next recommendation? Get a bigger location. You're going to need it! We will be back the next time we're in Oshkosh! read more

New location with great tasting food but occasionally chars the pizza and food in a very hot, wood fired oven (down rated by one star) 3/5 Chicken Cacciatore (corrected spelling) - standard chicken thigh reheated in the wood pizza oven was moist and the accompanied broccolini would have been good if it was not slightly burnt. Baby potatoes were reheated had a thoroughly cooked texture. Chicken topped with a "Sunday" tomato sauce had a flavorful spiced accent. 3.5/5 Cannoli desert- slightly granular ricotta filling in a crunchy brown, rolled-up crust and pistachio crumbles (not as flavorful) on the top. It definitely needed to be slathered in the chocolate-like icing under the cannoli to improve the taste experience. 3/5 the "Steve" Pizza. Loved the ingredients. Great sauce, cheese and house mozzarella topped with an average pulled beef short rib with a stewed beef taste that blends in with the other good topping ingredients. Probably a one- off, the black burnt leopard spotting on the back side of the crust was too much of a percentage of the area and crumbled off like black scraped toast powder...Not tasty. If you are not used to the leopard spot experience, it is more for aesthetics than taste. Ask for no or very little burnt spots on the crust and you will love the topping flavors. 3.2/5 3-large Meatball/red red sauce/basil pesto/ricotta on the "small bite" appetizer menu. A glaze hardened meatball bottom in a tasty tomato sauce. Overall- A really great taste experience if you ask for no char. The inadvertent leopard spots on broccoli, meat ball bottoms and powdered black ash, burnt pizza crust comes from a sometimes crowded oven, perhaps not allowing rotation and concentrating hot spots. Let the cook know you do not want "powdery" burnt spots on your pizza to get a truly uplifting gourmet experience. read more

My new favorite pizza Friday place in the Fox Cities. If you like wood-fired pizza, Christiano's, Broken Tree, Field & Fire and Elinore are all solid choices. You could not go wrong with the crust on any of these pizzas. This place has some of the best toppings for my taste preferences. We had the Bianca and Missy. The Bianca did not have an overpowering pesto; instead, you could taste the cheese and the lemon. The tomato sauce on the Missy was also not overwhelming other ingredients. The place was recommended to us by the Sunken Paddle cider brewery--thank you! Also, sitting at the bar the service was great and the owner and head chef took time to share their story and talk food with us. read more

It was small pieces that had been drizzled with oil and lacked well balanced seasoning . The broccolini pieces topping the hummus were hard and not edible. The hummus was served with pieces of soft pizza dough . A very underwhelming dish for $13.00. We ordered pizza. The crust was thin and crisp but a robust Sunday red sauce was again lacking in seasoning. The sausage, mushroom and onion was very sparse in distribution of Ingredients . Well, where to start? A smaller restaurant with comfortable outdoor seating. The pizzas are nothing short of perfection! Meats and vegetables are locally sourced, and very fresh. The gourmet ingredients and menu has me coming back again and again. Sangria, and bottled wine, beer, available-- all delicious pairing with their pizzas. Service was friendly and efficient. We went here for lunch. I ordered the meatballs and a bread that the waitress recommended. The meatballs were 3 meatballs, that's it. My wife ordered a Caesar salad. The ambiance was more like a sub shop than an upscale Italian restaurant. Maybe 6 tables. The waitress/manager was very nice, the service was excellent. The food was delicious, just not much food for the price. Our bill was $33 and we only had water to drink. When I compare this to Olive Garden, where we can get soup/salad and breadsticks for lunch for less than $20 for two of us, this place is a little high priced. Otherwise it was good. Do not cater from here. Andrew, the owner, is very much arrogant and inconsiderate of your time and lacks any communication. We were suppose to have him cater for our wedding rehearsal this week and I reached out to him email after email for months with no response. Maybe one email telling me he was too busy for me in between. Our venue required him to do a tour, he did not do so - so he wouldn't be allowed on the property for catering. After trying and trying I let him know if I didn't hear back & receive a contract and tour we would find somebody else. So, when that didn't happen, we got a new caterer. Now, its 4 days before our rehearsal dinner and he emails me an invoice. With no information about headcount or anything & still no tour. When I told him he wont be able to cater for us due to his lack of communication & no tour, he emailed me back an email making me out to be the bad guy & didn't take any feedback to better his new business. The owner of our venue also agreed with me about everything and was very frustrated with his communication with her too. She will not be letting him cater at her venue in the future either. Big opportunity lost for him, unfortunately. His food is great but unfortunately that isn't enough. We were extremely excited to have him for our rehearsal dinner and It's such a bummer it had to turn out this way. I just would hate for future couples to have to deal with this in the future. I hope he changes the way he does things and humbles himself because it could've been great. read more

Really delicious pizza! We went for lunch on a Monday so it wasn't very busy, but service was prompt and very friendly. I got the Emilie (arugula, pear, burata & vinaigrette) and it was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. My husband got the Scott (sausage and jalapeño). It was a little spicy for me but he loved it, so if you like jalapeños go for it. The crust was perfect - probably the best pizza crust I've had in a long time.
