This is everything you look for in a local bike shop - staff who are helpful, approachable, look to work with bike owners and enable them to do basic maintenance at home, while remaining available for the maintenance and repairs at the shop!!!! Said "in stock" and available for pick up in Danvers Tuesday morning or seabrook Wednesday morning. (Danvers was closed Monday). I chose to pick up in seabrook Wednesday since we are in NH and couldn't get down to Danvers Tuesday anyway. My confirmation email said "ships from western cycle" to seabrook location. My receipt was from the Danvers location. I got a call Tuesday at 5:30pm from seabrook saying that they didn't have the bike I ordered in stock at either location. I explained what my confirmation email said and the very sympathetic employee from seabrook said he would call Danvers so see if they had put the bike aside without his knowledge. Danvers was already closed for the day so he offered to call and get back to me in the morning. 10:15 Wednesday I get a call from the owner, with a big attitude, telling me that they don't have the bike. Zero sympathy or compassion for me, the customer. He claims it was in seabrook and must have sold right before I ordered but doesn't know when. I was obviously upset, having ordered Monday and only finding out two days later that they sold me a bike they didn't have. The owner acted annoyed that he even had to call me and said "I don't know what to tell ya". He offered to cancel the order or order the bike (which would come in 7-10 business days), but we are leaving on vacation and needed a bike sooner. He said "sorry" like he was forced to, and was just overall not nice to me. I would recommend Buchika or Philbrick's for your bike needs. Philbricks went above and beyond and legit built a bike for us same day (normally a 2-4 day turn around) so we'd have it for vacation.

While I was there people stopped by with their bikes for repairs from fixing flats to tuneups. Please note that with the resurgence of interest in biking during the pandemic plus the wave of e-bike popularity, you must book a maintenance appointment online ahead of time. They are currently booked for 3 weeks! Clearly Marblehead/Salem Cycle are experts and well-loved by their clientele. They put me on a great new e-bike with little fuss and very reasonable timeframe. I knew what I wanted and they got it assembled it, and went over all the operational details with me. Couldn't ask for more! Thanks!

Meanwhile both of these guys were clearly in the middle of assembling/ servicing bikes but didn't seem to mind taking a minute to help me find what I was looking for. This was huge for me as i've been to other shops in the past and have had the opposite experience. One time the staff of another local shop couldn't be bothered to look up from whatever they were doing to assist me when I was literally there to buy a bike... a nice top of the line gravel bike I wanted for a long time..that experience left me so jaded I took my business elsewhere. Long story long that was not the case with these dudes, and after helping me find the helmet and peddles I needed I learned a bunch about the owner Jake and head mechanic Ed. Both of them local to the area - their stoke and knowledge of the neighboring trail systems was wonderful and they even hooked me up w/ a shop water bottle - I've got a zillion bottles but who doesn't love free swag?? Safe to say I left shop more stoked on riding than when I walked in and fully intend to shop here again in the future. Lastly, the aesthetics were modern and major bonus points for the sick grunge station they had on!

We ordered a bike online for my son and it came mostly put together but it needed some work beyond…read morewhat I could finish. The training wheels we ordered didn't quite fit the bike. They managed to get them on by bending them into place. They charged $30 total and spent at least 45 minutes solid working on the bike. They were as perplexed as I was by the fact that this bike had just one brake on the handlebars to control both the front and back. After I was home, I read all over the documentation, "the front wheel appears as if the brake doesn't lock, that's just how this bike is designed." :P They basically dropped everything they were working on just to help us out. I wouldn't buy accessories here, but this is a decent bike shop for repairs!

Took a couple of hours, and it was worth every minute as well as worth every penny. I now no longer have my hands go numb when I ride. My hips are less sore, even after a century ride.
