My Belgian waffle with strawberries hit the spot!

Waitress was friendly and seemed to know everyone's name, which is so lovely. I'm passing through, but if I come this way again I'll stop for more delicious food and good service. Belgian waffle with strawberries was terrific! Egg was cooked exactly the way I requested. Coffee was good too!

Two over easy eggs, bacon, hash browns with cheese and tomatoes, and rye toast (not pictured).

Kicking 2016 off early Friday morning, Mike and I decided to let someone else cook us breakfast so we headed to #eatlocal at the Parkway Cafe. I've eaten here numerous times over the years, but this was the first time in a while so I kept it simple. Two egg combo with bacon, hash browns and toast. $6 for breakfast!! That's a deal. My eggs were cooked perfectly over easy and the hash browns were crispy in parts and didn't taste of oil. Bacon was crispy and delicious and my rye toast (not pictured) was over toasted, but still edible. I'm giving the Parkway four stars for consistent and tasty food over the years, breakfast all day, and reasonable pricing.

BLT extra bacon with crispy homemade chips and slaw.

Stopped while driving through to North Dakota. What a wonderful find. Food was delicious, fresh and handmade. Our server Emma was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. If you're passing through Springfield, IL or if you're lucky enough to live here you should stop in.

Okay breakfast place, they have a full menu but we went there for breakfast. I did like that you had the option to jazz up your potatoes (for a cost), portions are probably what they should be but when you are used to over portioning, they seemed rather small. Coffee was just okay, for me coffee alone will make the difference in the stars awarded

Quaint friendly little country place. Authentic fresh eggs and sausage patties. French toast made w real butter and the fresh eggs. Presentation might not look like the bigger chains, but food had a lot more flavor. Staff is super super friendly. Manager/Owner come around to say hi and see how you liked your food. This Chicago native is coming back on next trip to Springfield.

Well worth the cost of admission :) If you haven't tried their fried chicken you should! I would say it's the best in town.

We stopped in on a day's drive from Kansas City to Chicago, due to the quantity and quality of reviews all over the internets, very much including Yelp! We were hungry and in need of some energy for lunch, and Charlie Parker's delivered on both! The place looks like a small military airplane hangar, but don't be fooled: inside is some of the best greasy spoon food you could wish for in the Midwest! The dining room is bright, tight, and fun, decorated to the inch by fun, colorful and humorous memorabilia! We ordered, and were served just a few quick minutes later. Each platter (correct word!) was stuffed with awesome, tasty food! Amongst the four of us, we had some sweet and some savory options, and we all tried each others! We all agreed - the food was delicious! When the bill came and printed at the bottom was a number less than $100, less than $50, I almost lost my mind! We were STUFFED to the gills with awesome diner fare, and our bill was barely $40! How did this happen? I pray this place is somehow eeking out a profit, as I seriously can't remember getting so much awesome food for so little cost in a sit-down restaurant. If it IS making money, then MAJOR kudos to the owner - this business model should be copied throughout the land. Food = 4/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 4/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 6/5
