With the main entry gate at the intersection of Main Street and Botelho Drive (just right across from Gott's), this parking structure was super easy to find, and it was so nice to be able to know the count of available parking spots right off the bat before I even entered the parking structure. And each individual parking stall also had a light indicator that would turn red if occupied or green if available. And the building seemed to be pretty well-maintained. Generally I found it to be pretty clean. So, I am happy that I found this parking garage.

I wish there was some notice before entering the lot indicating this. I just kept thinking about individuals who use wheelchairs and what they did to get down, especially if they were parked higher than we were. I feel like this was not safe or complaint with ADA standards. The attendants didn't even know the elevators weren't working. Do better Walnut Creek parking, it's 2023. We need information upfront and accessibility for those who need elevators.

When the first floor was converted to pay for parking, signs that looked exactly like the 4 four free hours of parking were installed. Now you have to read a QR code to make a payment and the cost for parking isn't listed anywhere to read before parking. The light in the stairwell from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor has been out for weeks and the stairwell itself hasn't been cleaned or painted in years. Also I couldn't find a sign anywhere with contact information in case of an emergency or unexpected situation. Have looked online and only find numbers that have been disconnected. What was once a very good place to park is now about average.

The garage goes down 6 floors, and consists of 3 types of spaces: Visitors, Reserved, or Unmarked. Visitor spaces are for public access and visitors who are paying for parking. Reserved spots are for specific individuals who have paid to reserve that spot specifically for themselves. And lastly there are the unmarked spots further down the lot that are for regular employees of the offices above who hold a parking permit. The parking garage is fairly well lit and clean. And due to location and the manned security/parking attendant out front, not visited by random homeless people or unscrupulous individuals looking to commit nefarious deeds. Cost for this garage is the most affordable I've ever seen! Free parking for the first 3hrs, and then a flat cost of $2 for up to 24hrs of parking. The first day I visited our client in one of the offices above, I pulled in at 7am in the morning and there was no attendant at the booth. So I simply parked in a visitor's spot without even paying. All that resulted in was a note on my window asking that I not do it again or risk getting towed.

The pump stopped working and did not give me any gas at all so I calmly went back inside and explained the situation I took a picture of the pump and everything and the first guy told me that he didn't know and that $10 wasn't that big of a deal and at least it wasn't $100 and that he didn't know what to do to help me and that I needed to go search the store and find the other guy to help me with the gift card because he didn't know what to do. They both could barely speak English and could not come up with a solution. I said well this is going to be a real problem then because I paid for it and I have my receipt. He just kept repeating that his machine said zero which I didn't know what that meant considering the transaction went through. They both were unhelpful and when I initially went to go find the other coworker he walked away from me as I was talking to him they are both extremely dismissive and downright rude. They pretty much refused to help me and I couldn't even figure out what they were telling me the whole time. I asked them if the money went back on the card and they were very unclear about it so I pretty much just spent money for no reason and yes it's $10 but that's still gas money at the end of the day especially considering how expensive it is. This is unacceptable the behavior was absolutely uncalled for. They should be fired. I would be embarrassed to have them as my employees. Oh and not to mention a couple months back I walked in because they were still open even though they had just gotten broken into and by the time I realized it was about to walk out of the store the owner or whoever it was rudely looked at me and said obviously we're not fucking open right now. To which I responded you don't have to be so rude I just realized it as you were about to make that rude comment.

But that is not the point. It was a really kind thing to do. THANK YOU. The lot has always been safe and I've only not been able to get a spot one time in 4 years. The price on it recently went up to $7 for all day parking, but they do have an attendant until 6pm and one cannot beat the convenience. Be prepared to pay cash because they do not take anything else. Attendant can provide change. Keep in mind that the spots directly outside of the parking lot is actually part of this parking lot. Do not park there without paying for the lot. Ample and spacious outdoor spaces. I have never seen this parking lot completely full even if I show up later in the morning. The other option is to park on the streets a few blocks around West Oakland BART Station, but I would advise that it's worth it to spend the money and park in this lot because my car has been broken into even on Mandela Parkway. Monthly parking rates are available as well. There is another paid parking lot across from this one that cost $6 all day, but you need to feed exact change into a machine and buy the "space". There's also less spaces in that one. I recommend this lot. It's a staple to a BART station that does not have enough spaces on any given commute day. It takes a few minutes to walk from this parking lot depending on which part of it you parked to the West Oakland BART Station.
