This is one of the Bart Stations that I go on most frequently. I always drive up to this station to take a train to wherever I have in mind to go like say San Francisco. I like it much better than the one in Pittsburg or it's North Concord/Martinez counterpart mostly because that it's cheaper to head to say Powell from here than it is from Pitt/North. The parking is much kinder here than it is in the stations before it. There's street parking, they have a two parking lots, a big garage, and there's two other parking garages that you can pay for that are just a walk across the street to get to. I never parked in the lot near the bus stops. I have parked in the lot where people wait to pick people up. I haven't had any bad experiences there, but today, I did notice one parking spot had a lot of broken glass in it. The garage is much better since there are more spaces and there's less likely chance of getting your stuff broken into, surprisingly. Another plus is that it's an easy walk to Todos Santos Plaza, the theaters, Park N Shop, CVS, Safeway etc. It's at a good enough location that there are plenty of shopping, entertainment, and restaurants just a couple of blocks away. It also has bus stops. The buses drop you right at the station that the walk is merely seconds to get from the bus to the train station and vice versa. After coming downstairs you can click a button on this machine that gives you a dollar discount if you're riding the bus. They have a lot of different buses that stop and go from here. There's a bus that goes to DVC, another one to Pittsburg, one to PHill Bart, and more. Waiting areas outside the main part of the stations aren't many, and what the seating is happens to be either broken or hard concrete. It's not comfortable. A bench or two on the bottom floor by the escalators and the bathroom. The usual big space between concrete benches on the platform and a circular seat out where there's no cover on the same platform. Half the place smells like pee. The bathrooms are disgusting. They are hardly look like they are cleaned. There's piss on the walls both on the platform and on the bottom floor near the restrooms. There are four machines to get tickets and one machine to break bills which come out in fives. Taxis are usually lined up a couple of feet away from the bus stop. There's even a food truck that is there most of the time. It sells simple stuff like tacos and hot dogs, carries general snacks like chips and drinks like water and soda. The employees I've talked to though have been super kind to me. They have been patient whenever I needed help. They also have helped me out when my ticket didn't work. Overall, it serves it's purpose for being a station. It's not the cleanest. Nor is it the safest (for your car.) But the people are kind, and it's located great by many shops. So-so kind of place.

Why write a review for a BART station? If you work in the city and live in the East Bay, a BART station is either your best friend or your frenemy. I prefer this BART station for the following reasons: 1. It never smells like urine. Not saying that this is a solid fact, but I am here daily during the weekdays and I never get an unpleasant whiff in the morning or in the afternoon. (Never had to use the bathroom, though, so that could be a different story.) 2. I don't have to walk over the freeway and be exposed to all that brisk and cold wind (yes, Pittsburg station, I am talking about you!) 3. There is covered parking if you make it there early enough, and if you were running late, they have an overflow parking lot. And it is FREE. 4. It is not too far from Pittsburg so I almost always get a seat (except for days when there are major BART delays). 5. It is far enough from Embarcadero Station (~45 minutes) that a nap is totally plausible. 6. I don't use it, but they have a pretty good bus system that takes you to DVC, Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, and some other routes. 7. I sometimes see wild turkeys! So yes, as far as BART stations go, Concord BART is my bestfriend!

Overall (6/10) walking distance from nice places to eat and drink, close to apartments, close to downtown Concord, basically a good location for a BART station. Lots of cabs to drive you home, or to your destination so do not worry. Would I come back? yes, I mean I really have no other choice haha.

Bit of fog today. The game is afoot!

How is the security ? Seen the news .. allot of break ins lately

Hi Debbie. To be honest with you after 16 months of taking Bart I have not seen any security at least during the morning times. However, I do not keep anything in my car that can be seen by anyone. Hide it all! I do see agents every morning.

Are there parking spaces available after 6:30pm on a Thursday? I want to use the long-term airport parking program. But it only guarantees a place before 10am. I won't be parking until 6 or 7 pm. Have parking spaces opened up by then? thanks.

I have not done this in Concord but in other stations, there are plenty of parking after 5:30 PM and I have parked there for the long term parking.… Read more

It's surrounded by a huge parking lot in the middle of nowhere. At least, that's what my first impression was. However, when I had to drop off my car at an auto shop in Martinez recently, I took a Lyft ride to this station to catch a train to the city. From the outside, it looks like Plain Jane, but from inside the platform, it looks gorgeous. The view looking West is so picturesque with the vibrant, green trees on both sides, bushes on the left side and the retaining wall on the right side is aesthetically pleasing to look at. It's framed like a modern painting that evokes a feeling of calmness. But you know what they say...beaty is in the eye of the beholder. But these are the things that captures my eyes as I get older and enjoy the serenity and simple things in life. Funny how such mundane things captures my attention and have such a strong reaction to a glimpse of unpretentious moment of time. The station is also, quiet, clean and unobstructed. The only negative I would have to say is that it doesn't have a covered garage to provide as shade to your vehicles. Especially in this part of town where the heat can become so unbearable. They do have some small trees in the parking lot though, but not enough to provide the proper protection from the sun. Other than that, it was better than I expected, and took me a bit by surprise.

I gave it 3 stars solely because the location of the station is key for me as well as the accessibility to take public transportation anytime to the heart of SF is pretty cool. We all remember the BART strikes that occurred a couple years back and how disruptive that was to everyone's commute. Seeing that these folks now get paid reasonably well, it's very discouraging and disappointing to see a lack of interest with regards to the cleanliness of the station, the lack of police presence, and the increased amount of folks loitering. In addition, I overheard a BART passenger brag on how he's been getting free parking for a month and hasn't been caught yet. That's frustrating for multiple reasons, but ultimately, because it validates that no one is really patrolling. The infrastructure of the station is obsolete and not well thought out. During rainy days, you'll see they block half of the corridor on the bridge because of the opening. There's nothing that is used to block the rain, so the floors get wet and slippery. Go figure. While waiting on the platform, it's quite windy and the noise is very loud. I thought that was kinda odd, but realized the way the building was structured contributed to that! Overall, this is the only closest public transportation near me that can take me to the city if I wanted to. So that's the real value for me and why I put up with it. I hope they renovate this place soon. That would be ideal!

We used the GPS to get here to the North parking lot and ended up parking in the overflow lot with a select amount of other people so we weren't alone. We were unaware it was the overflow lot till we walked to the BART station taking the little path and saw closer parking spaces. Oh well we were already parked and the walk wasn't that far. There is a parking FEE from 4am-3pm Monday - Friday. You need to remember your stall number so you can pay for your parking spot inside the station. When we arrived at the station we didn't see the pay station so we asked the station manager and she informed us it was free. If you need to pay you have to pay your fair and inside the station is the machines to pay your parking. It's only $3.40 a day. Not bad if you're comparing it to street metered parking or a parking garage. Still I'm not used to paying for parking at a BART Station. When we arrived at the BART station we looked at the machines and didn't see a way to put money on our BART tickets so we went to the station manage and asked how we do this. She informed us that they no longer use the old school paper tickets and now the new form of payment is a clipper card or a credit card. She said we could mail in our tickets and we'll get a check for the remaining balance. We asked where we ship them to and she said we can do it in station. We then asked if we can do it in this station and she said no she was out of the forms, then she looked and it turns out she still had a booklet of the forms so we were able to turn them tickets into her. She filled out a form for us. We signed our name to the bottom of the form after showing her our ID and she said it should only take 2 weeks and if we don't get the check in the mail by then to call them. Good thing we arrived early. We were able to enter the BART station by using our credit card. It worked like a charm. You just use a credit card to enter and the same one to exist and it automatically charges your card. It costed us $5.95 to travel from the Orinda BART Station to the Montgomery Station. That is the cost each way using a credit card. If you purchase a plastic Clipper card there is a $3 charge. If you load the Clipper app to your phone there is no charge to use your Clipper App. I'm not sure of the advantage of using the Clipper card versus using a credit card. Bathroom. They actually have 2 unisex bathrooms that have that great red and green tab on the door so you know if it's occupied or not. They don't have roll toilet paper, but the old school little square sheets that dispense like hand towels do. We were shocked in a good way at how clean and fresh smelling the bathrooms are. And I was just shocked that they have bathrooms that we were allowed to use. My husband was shocked that you didn't have to get an agent to open it for you. So overall we were thrilled beyond belief about the bathroom situation. We used it before and after the trip and it was just as clean if not cleaner at the end of the day. Safety. The station seems safe. There was no one loitering around the station. No homeless people camped out, ect. The station and the parking lot were relatively clean. There was a six pack of used or half used Corona in the parking lot next to a tree, but other than that it was pretty clean. Our car was safe. No damage happened to our car. There is always a fear that your car may be vandalized while you are gone or it 's broken into and all your stuff is stolen. It's happened before to my Husband and his friends at another Bart Station and that's why we didn't park at that station.

About ten minutes later, I was sitting at my office desk catching up on my work. It's sad to see the low ridership on this or perhaps I rode it on a non-peak time. Regardless, I hope that more locals and visitors take advantage of this which would likely ease the traffic gridlock that often frustrates people in the Chinatown and SOMA neighborhoods.
