Came here when I did a BART trip to SF with a friend. The overall area is nice--nearby a suburban neighborhood--with lots of parking spots, both indoor and outdoor. The fact that there is a parking garage was a huge plus for me. The fee to park here is $3/day within the hours of 4am-3pm. Any time outside of those hours is free. Payment can be done through the BART app, where you will need to link your Clipper Card number and license plate number. This is to ensure that you actually entered BART and aren't abusing the parking spaces reserved for BART riders. When paying for your spot, you input the number you parked in (located on the ground of your parking space), add your payment info, and you're good to go! It should be a pretty smooth and speedy process. I parked on the far end of the parking garage, so walking to and from the BART entrance was a bit far, but it was definitely doable. Like all BART stations, this location is equipped with kiosks to add value to your Clipper Card. There are escalators that take you to the upper level which is where you enter the train car. The train car had a frequency of 15 minutes during the time we were there, so it came pretty fast. Once we got in we were on our way! read more

Picking up somebody at this bart station was pretty easy on a Friday (still during pandemic though). There weren't too many cars, which I know won't be the case once the pandemic is over. And there were plenty parking stalls available as well. I also liked the close proximity of this Bart station to Downtown Concord. It made it super convenient for us to pick up foods or boba drinks on my way back from this Bart station. The train ride from Pleasant Hill Bart to this one was a bit long though with a few stops here and there. But other than that, everything seemed pretty good with this station. This is one of the Bart Stations that I go on most frequently. I always drive up to this station to take a train to wherever I have in mind to go like say San Francisco. I like it much better than the one in Pittsburg or it's North Concord/Martinez counterpart mostly because that it's cheaper to head to say Powell from here than it is from Pitt/North. The parking is much kinder here than it is in the stations before it. There's street parking, they have a two parking lots, a big garage, and there's two other parking garages that you can pay for that are just a walk across the street to get to. I never parked in the lot near the bus stops. I have parked in the lot where people wait to pick people up. I haven't had any bad experiences there, but today, I did notice one parking spot had a lot of broken glass in it. The garage is much better since there are more spaces and there's less likely chance of getting your stuff broken into, surprisingly. Another plus is that it's an easy walk to Todos Santos Plaza, the theaters, Park N Shop, CVS, Safeway etc. It's at a good enough location that there are plenty of shopping, entertainment, and restaurants just a couple of blocks away. It also has bus stops. The buses drop you right at the station that the walk is merely seconds to get from the bus to the train station and vice versa. After coming downstairs you can click a button on this machine that gives you a dollar discount if you're riding the bus. They have a lot of different buses that stop and go from here. There's a bus that goes to DVC, another one to Pittsburg, one to PHill Bart, and more. Waiting areas outside the main part of the stations aren't many, and what the seating is happens to be either broken or hard concrete. It's not comfortable. A bench or two on the bottom floor by the escalators and the bathroom. The usual big space between concrete benches on the platform and a circular seat out where there's no cover on the same platform. Half the place smells like pee. The bathrooms are disgusting. They are hardly look like they are cleaned. There's piss on the walls both on the platform and on the bottom floor near the restrooms. There are four machines to get tickets and one machine to break bills which come out in fives. Taxis are usually lined up a couple of feet away from the bus stop. There's even a food truck that is there most of the time. It sells simple stuff like tacos and hot dogs, carries general snacks like chips and drinks like water and soda. The employees I've talked to though have been super kind to me. They have been patient whenever I needed help.They also have helped me out when my ticket didn't work. Overall, it serves it's purpose for being a station. It's not the cleanest. Nor is it the safest (for your car.) But the people are kind, and it's located great by many shops. I take Concord Bart daily to get to work. Let's start with the parking. I like to get an early start, the parking option for me is great. If you start later, you might get stuck parking in the over flow lot. My parking fare gets automatically deducted by EZ rider monthly, just tag your clipper card and you're ready to go. This station attracts many homeless, mental illness patients and other interesting characters. With that said, there is always garbage/junk/shopping carts in random areas outside of the station. Once you're on the platform, you will encounter some more trash that someone just felt conveniently tossing out. Let's not get into the bathroom situation. Bring a mask even if you're just walking by the restrooms. It smells like urine and although I do see janitors trying to clean them up they are simply unable to keep up with the homeless that like to call it their home. The staff is friendly. They aren't rude like other Bart agents. A few times I forgot something in the car, they let you out through the side gate and back in the same way. This station is very very busy. There are lots of people trying to get somewhere. Therefore, I give myself ample time in case I miss a train. I try to catch the Montgomery train, that way I can at least get a seat. I like the option of choosing to take the Concord or Pleasant hill train since there close by. read more

Why write a review for a BART station? If you work in the city and live in the East Bay, a BART station is either your best friend or your frenemy. I prefer this BART station for the following reasons: 1. It never smells like urine. Not saying that this is a solid fact, but I am here daily during the weekdays and I never get an unpleasant whiff in the morning or in the afternoon. (Never had to use the bathroom, though, so that could be a different story.) 2. I don't have to walk over the freeway and be exposed to all that brisk and cold wind (yes, Pittsburg station, I am talking about you!) 3. There is covered parking if you make it there early enough, and if you were running late, they have an overflow parking lot. And it is FREE. 4. It is not too far from Pittsburg so I almost always get a seat (except for days when there are major BART delays). 5. It is far enough from Embarcadero Station (~45 minutes) that a nap is totally plausible. 6. I don't use it, but they have a pretty good bus system that takes you to DVC, Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, and some other routes. 7. I sometimes see wild turkeys! So yes, as far as BART stations go, Concord BART is my bestfriend! read more

This is the BART station closest to where we live so it is usually our BART station of choice. I have always been able to find parking here and it is free. I always feel safe here. It is well lit and, as Erin S already mentioned, I like that it is so close to the Concord Police Station. Yes, there are two sides to the station. I like this because it allows more space for entering and exiting. If you are meeting someone here, just be sure to specify if you are meeting on the parking garage side or the non-parking garage side. I think that's the easiest location marker. read more

I recently had the opportunity to use this BART station while staying at a friend's house nearby. It is night and day from my normal every day commute from Walnut Creek. First the station doesn't have a ton of construction. Second there aren't a huge mass of people like the WC and Pleasant Hill stations. Plus you are likely to get a seat from this station. Definitely one of the best BART stations, as far as those go. Glad to call it home :-) Only gripe is that I wish there were multiple escalators at these stations, since they always jam up during rush hour (stand to the right, walk on the left!). I come to the Concord BART every morning for work out of convenience. The station is located a half mile away from my apartment, so it's simple walk to and from. During the day the station might be a little safer and cleaner. At four in the morning, it's a different story. There are a lot of shady looking people hanging around the station in the morning. The place doesn't smell like urine as another person mentioned but it does smell like pot. Nothing against people who smoke pot but it's not what I want to smell first thing in the morning. On the outside of the station is a broken case that they never bothered to fix, or cover up. On the inside they have covered the old posters of the maps with paper, taped on and usually falling off. It seems like there is a lot of work to be done, and they don't want to do it. On a few positive notes, the elevators and escalators are very rarely out of order. The same goes for the ticket machines. The staff at the station are friendly and helpful. The Concord police station is literally right around the corner and the BART police, though not there in the morning, are usually around by midday. A lot of parking with a big lot and a four story parking garage. Though this isn't my ideal place to catch BART, the fact that it's so close to where I live kind of makes it a no brain-er for my morning commute. I would however recommend going to another BART station if you can help it. read more

Please clean up all BART trains. & please have 24hr security now on all trains as It feels unsafe too. I'm native CCC, but moved to So-CAL in 2006, this past year Visiting.... there's definitely a rise in its challenging aesthetics . Seats need revamping, I have compassion for homeless but now they sleep on the trains and once I saw so much debris of stuff in a 4 seat compartment - it wasn't until a rider reported it and behind the seat was the owner of said "stuff" w half open liquid bottle 4 bags of clothes... food in a brown bag. Prices have increased. I'd rather drive now and add to Bay Area traffic. I mean what would you choose convenience vs feeling safe in your car in traffic ? Who says you can't find parking! I can find parking! YAY! I come here even though I live in P. Hill because I can find free parking here everyday. If I get here at 8 it is pretty full but there are thousands of spots plus a garage so my car can find something usually. If not, there is an abundance of reserved parking for three bucks. Plan ahead if you are running late! I do like this station. I get my seat in the a.m so I can doze onto someone's shoulder on my way to the city and I can catch up on my book club reading on the way home. if you catch public transit the buses are right there too, can't beat it! Oh and a food truck! The only down side is the fact that machines are sometimes being serviced in the a.m. which I think is not all that smart. Don't tie up machines during rush hour BART! Other than that I come here, a little out of my way for the little things! read more

Overall (6/10) walking distance from nice places to eat and drink, close to apartments, close to downtown Concord, basically a good location for a BART station. A pretty nice station. Granted, I have little to complain about anyway because my commute is usually a reverse commute. The few times I have used the bathroom, it has been satisfactorily cleaned. And while it does have some sketchy people at night, I generally feel safer there at night than I do at the Richmond BART station during the day. Escalators always work and run in both directions, and there's plenty of lights around. One disturbing trend that I have seen recently, and not just at this location but at Orinda and other BART stations is a lack of cops. This is the closest Bart Station to our house- however we choose to drive to Walnut Creek or Pleasant Hill. This station is one of the dirtiest, most unkept Stations I have seen. There is a large homeless presence here. The restroom is often closed- I'm guessing due to the homeless presence. The attendants also seem to turn a blind eye to activities happening around them. read more

SO UNSAFE! My husband parks our beater Toyota Corolla here 5 days a week and it's been broken into twice. Most recently they tried to steal the car destroyed the steering column and ignition switch and took the radio. Before this car we parked our Jeep here. That got broke into too. Ruined our alarm. There's literally NO real security in the parking lot. If you park here expect to get broken into. read more

I like this BART station because it's well lit AND the parking lot is free. I get here around 5:30 AM so I never have trouble finding parking, but I have come in the middle of the day and it's packed. Since I tend to park really close I have no issues about feeling safe or not, but I have seen some shady characters hanging out around the perimeter of the far section of the parking lot, so I'd stay away from there. At the Civic Center BART station when I get there, the accordion guy is playing, and when I get to this station every morning, I hear a rooster crowing. So its a BART station. It's not the easiest thing to review because I seriously just use it and could care less if it is the best or not just because of the nature of its functionality. Here it goes The good: + Finding it is extremely easy + The station and parking lot always look clean + All the machines seem to work + My cars over the many years I have taken it have never been broken into or towed for being parked too long + There are always attendants to help me out The bad: - Getting out of this BART is a pain at times. Since I visit the Concord BART station twice a day, I think it's time for a review. Why I like this station: -It is within walking distance of my house -There is always parking and it's still FREE -The big overflow lot is right next to the police station so I feel (fairly) safe getting to my car if it's late at night -The bathrooms are open! -I always get a window seat in the morning Why I dislike this station: -Concordites (if you live here, you know what I mean) -People driving near the station never look for pedestrians -The bottleneck of cars picking up passengers after work Overall it's a pretty safe & clean station. I've lived in this area my entire life, so I've gone to this station more-than-a-few times. In terms of the other BART stations, this place delivers. Parking is free and plentiful, but still gets full; you can park on the side streets with little difficulty. The location is prime, as it's next to downtown Concord -- and as Emily J. wrote in a previous review, next to Concord Police. New frequency of train departures/schedule in the AM to sf is completely crippling. Packed trains, no seats, and inconsistent climate control. Parking is full by 8:15 unless it's Friday. The problem this station has is the Passenger Pick-Up area - SUV after SUV honking, doubleparking, awkwardly maneuvering, waiting for their very own Loved One to appear from the masses. I tried driving to San Francisco a few months ago for a weekend of typical tourist stuff and learned a valuable lesson; DON'T DRIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO. I spent more time in a constant "fustercluck" of traffic than anything else. Then it hit me; BART! I made Concord my "home base", rode into the Embarcadero station, rented a bike, and had a great time peddling around the city! I hadn't ridden BART since 1992 so I had some catching up to do. Thanks to their great website, I was able to figure out how to purchase tickets and decipher the station stops and schedules. It's real easy, even for a rube like me! I never once felt uneasy while waiting for trains and there's plenty of free parking. Plus, since it's the next to last stop, there's almost always a seat. Just one nagging question though. Catch a train to work or home! This station is centrally local to businesses, shops, and is pedestrian friendly. The commuters that use this station keep it clean, and seem respectful. Just wish that concord offered a free shuttle to the local office locations for employees. read more

Love this transit system, it travels to all the Bat Area destinations. I took it into Concord from SF International, it was about a 40 minute trip, opposed to the 1-1 1/2 hrs you would spend in traffic. With stops in West Oakland, Berkley and anywhere else you may need to travel in this diverse area. All stops are cool so far. Every city in the Bay is cool as far as I'm concerned. Being from Cleveland, its just a whole different way of life around here. I could definitely get used to it. Early morning trips to work in Orinda, I see the sun rising over the hill sides of North CA. So beautiful, its fast paced, but not as hectic as NY. After this weekend I will be able to elaborate more on this system. read more

Used this station for the past 2 weeks to get back and forth to SF. I like the station, it is decent. Not too many characters really hanging around, maybe because the police station is right next door. It is also located in the business area of Concord. This station offers free parking, free garage parking and I felt safe walking to my car. During the weekdays, in order to get garage parking you have to get there before 8am or you will be out of luck. With that said I found parking most days out of the garage on the north side of the station. I never had a problem getting in or out. read more

This Bay Area Rapid Transit terminal is usually a pass by or drop off point for me. I work in Concord so most of the time I walk to work from this station or take a connected bus line. This station smell like urine outside the gates, inside is pretty well maintained. There are always hobos and hoodlums causing some ruckus here, but usually it's probably disputes about crack or weed or something. You sometimes see guys trying to solicit here which is unsavory. This is one of the most ghetto BART stations outside of Oakland. My brother parked his hand-me-down-from-my-parents 1986 Volvo in the garage and when he came back, there was a nice big dent on the hood. Looked like someone got slammed on it or something. There is a lot of parking but it's always full on a weekday morning. 4/1 Edit: So, I've been having a seriously sh*tty time trying to find parking at Pleasant Hill BART on weekdays. A couple of people have recommended Concord to me, so I tried it today. I was a regular at Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station. Now that I'm a resident of Pleasant Hill, I have the option of Concord or Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa. I frequent Concord Station because the likelihood of me getting a seat during my morning commute is 95% going to happen. I like the fact that parking is free. There is a drop off, handicap reserved drop off, bus station, and taxi waiting area- all neatly laid out. There are outdoor parking lots on all sides of the station and an optional parking garage available for a fee. The station is relatively clean. It has an industrial look to it that makes it concrete jungle-ish on the eyes. There are a variety of people who take this train, not just the city workers and game go-ers like at the Dublin/Pleasanton Station. As of right now, I'm cautious of my surroundings when I get back late and park in a farther lot. I'm new to Northern California in general, so I'm really just getting used to my surroundings. Overall, seems safe and people are harmless. This station is located in downtown Concord, surrounded by cute shops and community events. Also close to Mt. Diablo High School. read more

Decided to stop working to give you the scoop on my Bart station. So, I have been going to the Concord station at various times of the morning. First - poo poo on Richmond. Their trains suck. Ours are slightly better. I totally dig my announcers. Ever been on Bart when they are changing drivers? Kinda funny... like the changing of the guard in London. "this is your Bart captain Joe Bob Sam, signing off. Taking the helm Sally Sue Johnson who will commute you to the j.o.b. and get you to w.o.r.k. Have a great day everyone..." "Thanks Joe Bob. Next stop, Pleasant Hill station." On the other hand, down with the bus Gods! Up with the parking Gods! Sideways with the crazy-people-looking-at-me-sideways" Gods! I just assume people are as crazy at other Bart stations. The bus system access is very nice... which it has to be if you don't go to work at 6 in the morning. Don't expect to park, but it is a nice station, nice people. The people on here who say parking is ample either a) go to work at the butt crack of dawn and fight the early risers who moved here from the East Coast, or b) come after 10 a.m. when parking is free and the wierd ones have come home. Concord Bart is okay. There's not much seating, and what benches there are are all made of concrete. The bathrooms are usually dirty unless you get there in the morning to use them, but at least they have a bathroom, right? There is an attached bus depot with buses that can take you all over the Concord/Pleasant Hill area. There are also taxis to one side, as well as a large parking lot and parking structure that rarely fills up. If you need a snack, a little food truck full of gross food is available. Only eat the pre-packaged stuff, or maybe the tacos, if you like a lot of spicy. The corndogs are terribly dry and stale though. The best feature of this station is that it is centrally located. Only a few blocks away and you are at Todos Santos Plaza, where there are nice restaurants and a farmers market every Tues and Thurs! read more

It was my first time using the Concord Bart Station over the weekend. I met my friend for brunch in the city and I didn't want to have to deal with bridge toll and parking. It's a good idea to use Concord Bart Station instead of Walnut Creek because it's a couple of stops before so there's always open seats when you start from Concord, it gets busy at the Walnut Creek location. Plus parking is super easy, especially on weekends there's pretty much no one there. read more
