    Lovely indoor track
    Dae E.

Let me start by saying that I'm not really a participant nor do I hold a YMCA membership. I took a couple of kids here for activities and this was my first time stepping into this enormous beauty. That being said, the Armory is pretty awesome. I enjoyed some cool air on this hot and humid day. I loved walking in and being greeted by smiling faces. I loved the space and the cleanliness of everything from the play areas to the bathrooms. The vibe is great. My entire time there I was thinking about making "roots." I'm talking about having kids and growing old... Forging a community with my kids and others people's kids for generations to come. No place in BK has ever done that to me before. Talk about warm and fuzzy feelings. I had them all.

2 hour commitment to a yoga class in order to get a ticket in time. Not including transit. Who is this serving?
    Sal H.

Group exercise classes are a hot mess and need a full-time coordinator. Imagine lesser-able or elderly people being booted from classes, because of arcane ticketing systems being neither communicated nor enforced. I have to arrive almost an hour early for any class to get a paper fun fair ticket--and with neurological issues to deal with, the whole thing is just exhausting. They are not serving their community if they can't facilitate basic communications about access. Edited to add: Here's a photo of the ticket system. Arrive at 11:40 to get a paper ticket for 12:10 class ending at 1:40. Total time invested: 2 hours.

    Balls anyone?

Nice, spacious sports complex. Best categorized as a sports complex since you can do so much here - basketball, track, karate, Pilates, yoga, ping pong etc. Great place to elevate your heart rate during the winter months and stay out of the roasting sun in the summer. There are nice rooms for party rentals and the staff is helpful. I would lessen to call this a gym as it would not meet your standards. The changing area and lockers could use more privacy but overall this is a nice place to work out.

At the moment I am only doing 30 min sessions and although they are quick, they are fast-paced and effective (i.e. I now have a butt!) Like a few other commenters, I supplement my training with other activities like walking/running, etc. I could probably benefit from class pass or something else, but at the moment my schedule is only really suited for a twice a week thing. That being said, if you're like me and can only do this training as your means of working out, you WILL still see great improvements. I also do love the solo sessions verse being around other people who are watching you sweat and grunt in weird positions...unless you're into that.

He churns through trainers like nobody's business. He went through at least 6 of them in the 15 months I worked out there. There was a point at which he got into a dispute with the landlord of the building that resulted in a cease and desist from the city for failure to have proper permitting. I'm told it was over a leak that had not been fixed, and indeed for at least 6 months, there has been a jury-rigged funnel and tube to deal with a leak coming from the apartment above. Despite the owner, I enjoyed the trainers and continued working out there twice a week until I moved.

I first came in because of an offer for a first class free. My rep showed me how everything worked, including the heartbeat monitor on the arm band, which they give you for free on your first visit. An instructor walked me around the studio explaining the class format and made sure I was comfortable with water and a towel. When class started he periodically checked in with me but was not overbearing. I loved how while everyone worked out individually, seeing everyone's stats on the screen did make it feel like a team effort. I really appreciated learning about the different heart rate "zones" and later did research on this when I got home. My sales rep explained the pricing tiers yet was not pushy which I appreciated and I signed up within the week. The app made it very easy to book, see stats, etc. The club has fun challenges each month and really does have a sense of community. It was always clean and you can tell instructors here really care about the members. I only quit because I ended up moving to another neighborhood but this gym truly did change my physique while I was a member, making me stronger and noticeably had an impact on my cardio endurance. I'd recommend this gym to anyone.

The classes keep me on track, and I'm seeing real results. I never, ever thought I'd be someone who enjoys jogging on a treadmill, but now I actually look forward to it. Coach Maddy brings great energy and creative themed classes. I love Coach Frankie's music picks--they make early morning workouts go by faster. And Coach Nai has a great way of offering helpful tips without making anything feel awkward. Luke is always so welcoming at the front desk. This location stands out for its thoughtful amenities: they offer gym and shower towels and a full locker room--something you don't always find at other storefront studios. OTF Park Slope is also a fun way to meet more people in the neighborhood, and the Instagram shout-outs add a nice touch of motivation. I hope corporate OTF will upgrade the app and the fitness band to more modern tech - I'd love AI analysis of my stats. I recommend Orangetheory Park Slope to anyone looking for a fresh, encouraging way to get into fitness.

We were staying nearby and my husband had a guest pass and it was either vegging out in the hotel room, eyeing the minibar, or moving my butt, so off I went. This Equinox is situated pretty close to the Insta-famous picture spot of the Brooklyn Bridge that all the movies and TV shows feature, so be prepared to wade through a camera-wielding crowd. The stairs to the check-in desk aren't bad at all. If you want a Stairmaster workout before your actual workout, try the stairs at the Seaport location in Boston. Brutal. Layout is pretty typical for an Equinox - I did appreciate the natural light facing the weights area. Perhaps in a nod to what the clientele are clamoring for, much of the space is devoted to weights/machines, with all the cardio equipment in a smaller cluster near the back. When we went in the afternoon on a weekday, the space, particularly the locker room, was completely deserted. There's also a smoothie/juice bar on the first floor.

Finally, you made it to the 4th floor where you will find the Pilates area, some more treadmills, yoga studio, and cycling studio. The gym is well maintained and clean. You will find towels on every floor. The upkeep is well taken care of before and after classes. This location the layout is different compared to other Equinox locations. Might be med size, but has everything will separated. I like the main studio has a sense of privacy compared to other Equinox locations where the main studio is full exposure. The only thing I don't like is the yoga studio size. On most slow days the capacity is great, but on other days, depending on the instructor, yoga classes can get crowded. Can be a bit challenging when crowded to move around or extend yourself without bumping into the next yogi. You do have a few popular yoga instructors and their class can be crowded. The locker room you don't have much space if someone else is using the lockers. You have to wait in case someone is using the kicker next to yours. Service is good. Have no complaints. Very modest location and nice staff.

I usually work out in the afternoons and evenings, but my schedule changed last week, so I've had to switch to mornings and early afternoons. Today, I informed a staff member that the cleaning wipes dispenser was empty and needed to be refilled. While waiting, I noticed another dispenser across the weight room and grabbed wipes from there. A few minutes later, the staff member approached me and said the dispenser wasn't empty--that the wipes had simply fallen to the bottom and I needed to look down inside to see them. She then added, in a very condescending tone, "I'm not the cleaner though," and walked away while I was still speaking. That interaction didn't sit right with me. I simply reported an issue, and the response was dismissive and unprofessional. From experience, once interactions with staff reach that point, they tend to become tense and unpleasant moving forward, so I choose to move on. I've always been respectful and pleasant, and I used to really enjoy this gym and its staff. This was my first time working out during the daytime at this location, and thankfully it will also be my last. The evening staff have always been welcoming, respectful, and helpful--completely different from what I experienced today. This used to be a great place to work out, but after today, I have no interest in returning. I'm already looking into other membership options.
