I have been here numerous times just for coffee, but also for breakfast menu as well as their dinner bistro menu and have never been disappointed. My only past negative comment may have been the lack of attention from staff, but this is obviously a problem that has been rectified. We had menus and water within seconds of sitting down, waitresses were swift in taking our orders and bringing food and then clearing dishes. We sat for ages as well and didn't feel rushed out or pressured to leave. Defiantly a place to come eat if out but again, it is a little more pricey then perhaps would be expected when compared to the other cafes on the same road.

Still it is a great spot to come to in the village. I venture here about once week at the moment, sometimes for lunch, sometimes just for a coffee or a smoothy. Always lovely. Ive only been to dinner here maybe three times, mostly because i prefer dining here during the day when the sun is out and the birds are chirping. The venue is amazing. It literally sits atop of greenery. Hard to describe but it means that when you sit at the bar it looks like you could drop at an instant. Pretty incredible. This is a popular spot with the youngness and the older generation. Not overly kid friendly but its doable if need be. I also think it can get a little pricey for the village but again that might the thing they are going for.

It's fine if you're just in for a coffee with other parents but you may want to skip brunch if you are on a budget. Otherwise the food is good and the coffee is great along with smiling, friendly and helpful staff. Stripe is a nice getaway for anyone who wants to duck out from a busy day or get your caffeine fix if you are a mum on the go out west. Street parking only, could be an issue if you are meeting friends but it's a short walk from the parking up the top of the hill across from The art gallery. If need be.

A lively atmosphere and some great decorating add to the overall vibe. The menu was pretty standard, all day breakfast and pasta of the day etc. I was a little annoyed to find the kitchen had run low on a few ingredients which limited my choice of meal, so instead I settled for a build your own breakfast option which turned out pretty good, but not necessarily great value for money. I assume the kitchen shortages are just a teething problem; for a new business, probably not out of the ordinary. Overall, I think that this is going to be a cafe worth revisiting, once they have settled in.

Removing myself from the usual spots in the city we tried Crave in Morningside. Situated in a pretty quiet spot, the site itself was light and airy with tall ceilings and is a lot larger than the pictures presented. Extremely busy upon arriving, we added our names to the list, and as accurately estimated by the host the wait was only around 15mins for a table. Between the four of us eating, there were a few hits and misses. Upon being served, two of us received our meals before the other two with about a 3min wait between dishes served which is always a tad awkward watching other people eat before yours is served. Almost after always ordering the Mushroom on Toast dish today wasn't too far from the norm by choosing the Fungi from the menu. Instead of your standard toast option, it was served on a delicious kumara and feta cake, however the herb garlic cream was very lack lustre. It didn't give me that feeling that I wanted more and really missed that umph and body and was fairly under seasoned. It's a shame because the concept was there and presentation was a beaut. If I could make one recommendation, please serve it on a plate and not a bowl, it's frustrating to try scoop the last few bits with a fork and knife. The rest of the dining party were happily pleased with their tasty meals, with each dish having a modern switch up to your classic eggs bene and scrambled eggs. We agreed it would have been great to have a slice of toast or a hash served with the Cottled Egg just to tie the dish together. Otherwise overall the service was on point and friendly topping off a satisfied feeling upon leaving.
