The best food we had in Auckland, hands down! Everything we ordered was seriously amazing and some of the best food from out entire trip to New Zealand. I can't remember the names of the dishes, but order by the pictures I posted if you like chicken dishes as you won't be disapointed. Not only was the food beyond amazing, but the views were incredible. It is the highest restaurant in Auckland and sitting on the patio provide the most stunning views of downtown and the Sky Tower. It was chilly when we were there, but glad we put on jackets and enjoyed the wonderful views. Private parking lot and great service were added bonuses!

We stopped here for dinner on our way from Piha Beach. The main courses were all good. The pizza was average and it may have to do with the toppings we chose. The service was very good and we met the owner who was very welcoming. The views from the restaurant were excellent and there was ample parking out front. We went around sunset on a weekday and the restaurant was packed.

It was a glorious sunny autumn morning, so I thought we would drive out here and see what all the fuss was about. We we impressed by the cool views of Auckland CBD, Bridge ,Sky Tower, and surrounding neighbourhoods. The food was quite nice and enjoyable, I had the Moroccan Baked Eggs, and my wife had the Tuna Melt Sandwich. Both our meals had reasonable size portions and left us contently full. The staff often checked on us to make sure if everything was OK or if we needed anything else. It was well worth the over an hour drive to sample both the food and view of Auckland.

If you have friends or family coming from overseas and you are taking them out to the West area or beaches then you must bring them here, even if its just for a coffee, beer or wine. The views of the bush with Auckland in the distance are spectacular. We have been here a number of times, sometimes just for a coffee and others for lunch, I wouldn't say the food is as spectacular and could be a bit better to go with the great views but sometimes you just can't have it all. The views really do make up for everything and are definitely worth it.

I'm not sure if this place is still in business after covid, but I visited precovid. We decided to…read moresplurge because it was our last night in town and there weren't a ton of options that were open near here. I got the seafood risotto and it was...ok...maybe a bit off..... Well, let's just say I experienced the seafood a second time later that night. Definitely not the way you want to end a trip. I had sent them a message about this right away, because I wouldn't want anyone else to get sick from their food and they offered me another meal, which was nice, but I was leaving in the morning. Anyway, not the best experience, but the location and view were nice.

So i decided to buy a grabone for these guys when they were available and boy was i disappointed.... a grabone deal does not mean you have to lower your standards... use it to promote your restaurant and get them to come again after... It was a $30 grabone voucher that includes a weekend brunch for two... our meals were SO small and looked horrible AND taste average. We ordered one sausage crepe and one baked eggs. The sausage crepe serving was so small (for an original price of $19) and the crepe was drying out and burnt around the edges... at least there was flavour in this one... the baked eggs was the worst baked eggs i have ever tasted.... it was all sweet capsicums (or sweet peppers) and nothing else. you could hardly taste the eggs. Also nothing to dip into the runny eggs.. no bread ... nothing. it looked plain and boring... and tasted even worse. What is the point of putting yourselves on grabone if the outcome will be to lose customers. Grabone should be an opportunity to introduce yourselves to new customers and convince them to return again.... I know they can do some amazing things with food and service but a grabone voucher does not mean you should eliminate all that to earn more money... We decided to go to another cafe after as we were still hungry...

This restaurant has been around for ages and it still draws in the crowds, day and night. If you've…read moreever eaten here you will know why, the food is amazing and the atmosphere is laid back. Totally suitable to the laid back Westie lifestyle. We booked in recently for a family get-together and everyone from grandma to the five year old loved the experience. Surf and turf menu with plenty of kiddy meals to keep the littlies happy. The steaks are really great, the majority in our group placed such an order. I like the fire pit in the waiting area with the comfy couches, a nice place to have a drink if you are still waiting on your table.

We waited…read morefor more then two hours for the whole Special Set Menu to be served and ended up having to take the dessert home (not normally allowed) because we couldn't wait any longer. To wait that long just for the food to taste like it had been zapped in a microwave is ridiculous. Entrees: Spare ribs were crispy burnt and black/dry on the corners then drowned in sauce, what was supposed to be Cheese and bacon wedges turned out to be just Wedges with the sour cream & salsa on side bowls to fill up the plate, Seafood Chowder was full of chopped up celery more then any seafood and not very creamy at all. Mains: Lamb shanks fell away easy off the bone but again drowned in yuck sauce that killed it, the spinach and mash again zapped in a microwave. Chicken supreme was dry and plonked on the plate with the sides looking like they were recycled from a previous meal, Eye fillet Mignon was probably the only best looking meal but failed as a 'well done request'. Children's Menu: Bangers 'n Mash was disgusting the sausages tasted off! peas looked and tasted like they were still frozen, mash had some kind recycled soy sauce spread over it, Ice-cream Sundae looked like mock cream with a line of chocolate syrup. The Manager on duty at the time came over and demanded we pay for drinks on top of the Special Set Menu because this was part of the conditions, this was addressed after we were half way through our meal!! Very unprofessional in front of our whole family blaming and cursing the waiter and scared our kids that she stood over, she apologized after but doesn't excuse us having to put up with the whole ordeal for more then 2 hours!! Disappointed. Especially after we found out the Owner is also the Head Chef.

Though this is true, it wasn't until I told my boyfriend I'd been there that I learnt it is famous. Having won awards for their quality meat and presentation, as well as peoples' choice awards including the 'Gold Plate' in 2012, The Falls is known to the majority of West Aucklanders as the best place to eat. I'm not sure if I would go quite so far as to say it was my best meal ever, but I did really enjoy my experience at The Falls. I sat out in the newly renovated courtyard with a pot of tea and a ham cheese and tomato omelette. The ambience was lovely, the wait-service was brilliant and the food was delicious - what more could you ask for? Tip: The Falls also caters for large groups and business meetings, and though I cannot say this from personal experience, I believe they would do a brilliant job at hosting such events and can't imagine anyone being disappointed with the food or the service.

This was an intimate space for our celebration and we were well looked after. Again the food - a three course meal - was outstanding and the wine list excellent. The Falls do great coffee any time of day, take out in the mornings but make sure to pay for parking in the adjacent 'pay and display' area as you would not want to be stung with a ticket like I was!

I have visited the Titirangi RSA once or twice when I was much younger and I remember it was a really good looking RSA. Usually, visually anyway, RSA's can be a bit average, but this one was top notch wit awesome memorabilia lining the walls, cares for furniture and overall interiors, and it is a massive space too so that gives it an overwhelming feeling. I think you might have to be a member here, or know someone who is a member here to really experience it though, which at least was the case when I went there a couple of years ago. I remember the food (we had snack food like chips and such) was good and of decent portion sizes, and the drinks were the normal RSA types like beer and cola, so fine too. I didn't really get that super friendly local feeling though, which is why I haven't returned since my initial visit.
