I'm very glad we found the Hyatt Place as a hub for our stay. We arrived mid afternoon, right around check in time and we're quickly greeted at the front desk. Is a Hyatt Discoverist member, was provided some bottled water and snacks - a nice touch. We were assigned our room, and notified about the parking. Self parking is $5 per day, and is located across the street from the hotel. A helpful tip would be to unload baggage before parking if you have any heavy/large suitcases. While the walk is just a couple of hundred yards, it may be difficult on an especially hot or rainy day. After check-in, we went to the room which was the standard Hyatt Place layout - a comfortable bed with a reasonably sized TV, a small sofa and functional bathroom.. I enjoyed the water pressure and temperature of the shower. The next morning, we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with eggs, bacon, fruit and coffee. The lobby itself is large and beautifully appointed, with a full business center and pods for individuals to work. The hotel location is in the center of Florence, a relatively small/walkable downtown area with restaurants and shopping. Overall, a modern hotel, comfortable room, friendly staff, and good location, all at a reasonable price.

Nicole, Navah, and staff were warm and welcoming every day I came back from an unexpected trip to McLeod Hospital, where I had to put my mother for five days. What should've been a quick trip to Florence and back turn into a total of nine days in Florence but my time at the Hyatt place was what I needed. The accoutrements, the breakfast, the conversation, the warm bed comfortable surroundings. Everything I need for an unexpected trip. And the way that my baby was treated when I had to dip out to go and make sure my mother was OK was phenomenal. I can't thank you All enough for the kindness issue extended to me it's not the first time that I was at this establishment and it most certainly will not be the last.

Disappointing Experience at Hotel Florence…read more I've always enjoyed staying at Hotel Florence, and I typically stay here once a month for work. Honestly, I wasn't even going to post a review, but the lack of concern and follow-up from management is what ultimately made me share my experience. Unfortunately, I've encountered roaches on three separate occasions. During my first visit, I found roaches in my room and a baby roach in my food. On my second visit, I found roaches in my room again. During my most recent stay, I found three roaches in my room and even captured one as proof. It's been over a week, and I still haven't heard from anyone at the hotel. Hilton corporate has communicated with me by email and offered 10,000 Hilton Honors points, but no one from the hotel has called or followed up. I feel the points are an inadequate resolution considering what happened, especially since this wasn't an isolated incident. I was also informed that the hotel would be fumigated. What bothers me most is that I genuinely like this hotel and have continued to stay here almost monthly for work. I expected a little more consideration from a property I've supported with my repeat business. After three separate incidents, I would have thought someone from management would take the time to reach out and acknowledge the situation. I understand that problems can happen, but how you treat your customers afterward matters. It's disappointing to feel that my loyalty and concerns haven't been taken seriously. I hope management takes this feedback to heart because I would hate for these experiences to change my opinion of a hotel I've always enjoyed.

My bottom line for this stay was that it is probably the best I-95 place I have stayed at period. Good temperature control in the room. VERY large room. Quiet. It might not be a destination, but it certainly is a great place to call it a night on your way to a destination.

Hampton Inn Florence Room 428 | Monday, February 16…read more I'll let the other reviews handle the standard checklist items. I'm here to talk about the subjective stuff -- the comfort factors that can make or break a night on the road. The king bed? MASSIVE. Basically a campground for two adults. Plenty of space, very comfortable. Now the nuanced bits. The room had more ambient light than I prefer -- tough to get it fully dark. The pillows were small and slightly lumpy, and the sheets felt thin. Shower water pressure was mid, and the hot water didn't quite reach my personal "steam therapy" setting. Towels were a 6-7 out of 10: softer than DoubleTree, but not as oversized. I do travel prepared, though. I've got an Amazon sleep mask that is straight-up lights-out defense. Once I put that on? Out cold. And just when I thought the sleep mask had secured the victory, two trains decided to blast their horns at 1:40 a.m. and 4:41 a.m. ‍ Bottom line: solid for a one-night stop. But if you're sensitive to light, pillows, or shower pressure like I am, those details matter.

When I showed up, the woman initially said she didn't have any king non-smoking rooms available, but then said she did and sent me to a first floor room at the far end of another building. This is a traditional motel with direct entry from outside to the rooms. There was a guy just standing around in the parking lot outside the room when I drove down there from the lobby (there seemed to be a fair amount of dubious activity going on). The room was clean, though, and everything worked as it should. The only complaint was that while there were some filmy white drapes to draw across the window which (hopefully) blocked a clear view in, there was no dark or blackout curtain. So when the sun rose, the room was super bright -- don't plan on sleeping late. And as a couple other reviewers mentioned, there is a somewhat busy train line very close by, so if you're a light sleeper you will be woken up a couple times during the night. There was no breakfast or coffee offered during the pandemic, but there are lots of restaurants and stores nearby. You can do (and I have done) a lot worse for a place to sleep off 95, though this is more in the midrange price point, so you're getting what you pay for.

Staff is very courteous and professional. Room is spacious with microwave, fridge, and coffee machine. Spacious bathroom, sink, and shower. What I like about the shower is the knob is by the sliding glass door so you can get the right temperature before jumping in. I also love the lavender and eucalyptus scent of the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Very invigorating. Bed is very comfortable. Gym is nice and clean. Not too big. It has treadmills and elliptical machines, dumbbells, and stability ball. It opens 24 hours. Complimentary breakfast: good selections from bagel, bread, cereal, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, waffle maker, turkey sausages. Oatmeal is perfectly cooked. It's unsweetened so it's healthy. They provide various toppings such as brown sugar, dried cranberries, nuts. The scrambled egg is not too salty and not watery. I really enjoyed my healthy breakfast. You can also grab bananas and oranges. The plates and bowls are made with sturdy paper so they are environmentally friendly. At the breakfast station they also offer variety of juices, teas, and coffee including decaf. I definitely come back to stay.

Easy to get spoiled when you've stayed at some of the better Marriott resorts and boutique hotels. My main beef is the same as it is with many properties in this price range. Tub showers and no handheld shower head. At this particular property room - my biggest issue and it's so avoidable. An unusable iron. And I had no time to call for a new one. Just wanted to iron a shirt to take to a meeting. I only need a long sleeve type shirt on so many days/meetings but when you do you want a clean iron Also I hate these little coffee makers. At least this one was fairly clean. Would like to see all new hotels in this range to have mostly walk in showers! Maybe a few with tubs for people traveling with kids, but I don't know many people who want to take a bath at a hotel. Nespresso machine for coffee, and a premium mattress.
