The people were so nice and just said when I'm up to taking care of extra day, just come to office. This time I met the new owner, he is super nice. He is also doing renovations and additions to the camp. There is a beach for the kids to make sand castles, fishing, a great dog run with an obstacle run. It is also quiet. If one prefers the true outdoor experience, this is a beautiful park to explore. The campgrounds feature only 17 campsites for RVers, and I'm not sure if they have separate sites for tent camping. The RV sites have water and electricity and no cable or internet. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed and cleaned up after at all times. Check in is on the opposite side of the park than the campgrounds. We had a rather odd shaped RV site and I cannot recall having a fire pit or BBQ grill, but we have our own grill. We have our own bathroom and didn't seek out any park facilities. We enjoyed the fresh air, sunshine and peace and quiet. There is limited shopping in the nearby town with a few scattered restaurants and one fast food restaurant near Walmart. Will we go back? Reservations already made.

A pet-friendly journey for sure. The store looks well-stocked with cold drinks for all ages, local brews, some souvenirs and RV supplies, and a few groceries. This is a passing-through kind of KOA as it's right on the highway, but the sound wasn't the worst. We didn't peek at the facilities as we were too busy hiding in the AC of our RV, but the WiFi was strong, and it was a perfect spot between Savannah and DC, with yummy eats nearby. We'd come back.

The reservation and check-in was easy and our site was ready upon our early afternoon arrival. The staff in the office was very friendly and explained all the ammenties and drew the directions to our site on the map provided there was no escort to our site but it was very easy to find and get set up. The site was very level and all the utilities were in excellent condition, we were at site 41 which is one of the premium sites which included a large concrete patio with a few chairs around a sunken fire pit and another high top table with four chairs which all looked fairly new. This site was very clean and there was plenty of room between all the sites unlike a lot of KOA Campgrounds. This KOA worked out perfect for us and one I will gladly recommend to others and one I will definitely stay at again if traveling to or through the area...

This was our first RV stay with our small camper and it worked out great. Their website is really…read morenice and user friendly. It was super easy to book online and they called right after to confirm and share details before we arrived. Since it was December I only booked a few weeks before but I'm sure during peak season you'll have to book earlier. There are 100+ sites that have a concrete pad with a picnic table and fire pit. Check-in was simple but know there are two entrances and one is locked until you get a code. Devon at the front desk was very friendly. She shared some area activities and restaurants. The park was clean, well organized and there was a lot of large RV's. It has a beautiful view of the intracoastal with decks, a trail around a small pond, kayak rentals, dog park and activities hall. We missed all their Christmas events but enjoyed walking around and hanging out at our site. We used the fire pit every night for dinner. They also have a bathhouse with separate bathrooms which was nice but could use a little refreshing. The staff was awesome cleaning the grounds and they even had daily trash pickup from your site. We will definitely come back to this park.

Before then, we…read morewere transitioning between Lake Wylie Marina, Long Cove Marina, and Terry's Marina for about 20 years. With all of our experience in boating, my family and I can confirm that Wateree Marina has been the best move thus far. Their owner, his wife, and everyone else who works there knows our names. And they all go out of their way to make sure all of our needs are met. (within reason) When our boat needs repair work, which all boats do, their mechanic Randy ensures it is done correctly. For example, I'll never forget one 4th of July several years ago when Jamie, who is the sales person at Wateree, came to pick something up from work. Jamie was already aware that we were camping at the camp ground across the river that week on our vacation. He quickly found us sitting at the dock with our boat that refused to start. Even on his day off, Jamie stopped to help us. He put a new starter in our boat right then and there, just so that we could enjoy our family vacation. The Wateree Marina has consistently been a positive influence in our boating experience, and I can assure that they will provide the same for anyone who comes across the beauty of Lake Wateree.
