Gary continued to accommodate us by letting us stay two more unexpected nights, and helped us find a mechanic.

I received an email inviting me to a home cooked meal instead of eating out on the town. A welcome change from a normal week spent on the road. The owners were actually present to watch the Clemson vs Auburn game and brought over the meal for the guests to indulge. It was wonderful and brought the guests together in a communal fashion which would never be experienced in a hotel atmosphere. It was during the week days so everyone there was on business and thankful for the meal because it was a balmy 30-something degrees outside. The rooms are simple yet beautiful. Each room (I've only stayed in two of them) has cable TV, a small desk, bed, end table, sitting chair, private bath, and a closet. The kitchen is stocked to the gills and accessible anytime. The common areas are kept neat and tidy and there's a countertop Keurig for all of your coffee and tea needs. Fresh fruit and less healthful snacks are also supplied in the kitchen. I've stayed several times on business and will likely return one year for the Sandblast Rally race which is a popular local attractions for off-road racing enthusiasts. If you stay here, be certain to dine at the River's Edge restaurant. Unexpectedly phenomenal fare.

House is a lovely oceanfront 7 bedrooms, 7 & 1/2 bath home in excellent condition. Great outdoor space which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Upholstery furniture in the 1st & 2nd floor family rooms are heavily soiled & stained. Spoke with realty company about having the furniture cleaned but to no avail. After three calls, I never received a follow up call stating next steps. The 1st floor furniture was so soiled that we used sheets to cover it since we were so embarrassed for family & friends to see how stained it was. The cleanliness of the home was horrific. In light of the Covid pandemic, it was obvious the property is not being thoroughly cleaned after check-out. It was by far the dirtiest, dustiest property we have ever stayed in. Dust was noticeable throughout the entire house, furnishings, baseboards, air vents, etc. The kitchen vent hood & kitchen blinds were greasy & grimy. Food crumbs were found on the kitchen counters. Cobb webs were visible throughout the house especially on ceiling lights & fans. Master bed mattress cover, bedspread & pillows were stained. Hair was found in the master bed & in bathrooms. Master bath shower door track was extremely dirty. Purchased the linen package which included sheets for each bed & 2 towel sets per person for the total number of people that the house accommodates. Because of the quality of the linens, highly recommend bringing your own sheets, towels, bed spread or blankets. Notified realty company of the issues noted above and they sent housekeeping out to clean the property. One person from Housekeeping came 2 hours late on 10/25/2021 to address the cleaning concerns. She staying ~2 hours and attempted to clean the house. She explained what I wanted was a deep cleaning which in my opinion, is basic housekeeping services. While she was cleaning, she was left unattended and unzip our luggage in the master bedroom. Luckily, I thought to put away valuables, cash, prior to her arrival. Needless to say, my husband and I ultimately ended up thoroughly cleaning the house, blinds, baseboards and etc. I was so disappointed to spend a full day and a half cleaning on vacation. Definitely was not we expected on a fairly costly vacation.

Madison house is a gorgeous Victorian gem, decorated in appropriate era furniture and art, this house is lovely. It is a little worse for wear, but honestly I'd rather stay here than any of the chains. We stayed in the king room without our own tv. Most rooms are queen rooms, but all have 4 poster beds and lovely decorating. The pool and the porch. Wrap around porch was lovely place in the morning. The pool is delightful and surrounded by plants everywhere. Breakfast was simple and delicious. I asked for scrambed eggs, and they came fluffy with cheese. Perfectly crisp bacon, toast was lovely, and the banana nut muffin was quite good. The coffee is AWESOME! The proprietor is a lovely woman who is friendly and delightful.

Of course the kitchen is gourmet country chic, and the pool is a more modern touch, but the classic architecture and artwork that adorn the mini mansion coupled with the destination's crown jewel, Mrs. Yvonne, make it a wonderful place to relax, rest, and be at ease. Mrs. Yvonne is a classic southern woman with a welcoming "down-home" demeanor. She's a pleasure to chat with, if that's your thing, and a good cook to boot! It was nice to take a moment to talk to her and it did my heart good in the wake of losing my dad. We are sure to return to such a charming place!

The bed is firm but super comfortable, like hard to get up cause you want to stay there all day comfort. The linens are the nicest quality I've ever seen in any hospitality setting. Very upscale. The setting is gorgeous, serene and offers many spots to sit and enjoy a glass of wine it early morning coffee. The town is pretty small and is situated literally next to a college. What threw me of is it was completely vacant because outside of the proprietor I didn't see anyone else. But hey it was ok because it was nice and quiet. I spent some time in the library before headed to bed. My king room upstairs #2 was very large and had quite a bit of room. The bed was super comfy. The bathroom was decent & had decent water pressure. I do wish there was more lighting over the mirror to make it easier to shave. Breakfast was interesting because I've never had grits if that's what it was but it looked like it so that's what I'm going with . Overall for the $140 for the night I enjoyed it. I feel for the owners because it's such a large place I wish there was more people staying. I did read reviews from previous stays that they offer dinner but it was completely empty the pizza I had seen in picks looked really good
